We completed it together for the first time on 2 player mode if memory serves me correctly. One of the best "shoot em ups" ever immho. Can't believe I just rediscovered this at the age of 40. 🤦♂️😂

I never got passed the Truck either. What's funny I just got a Modded PSP with all the Sega Genesis, Super Nes and Nes games. And I still can't get passed that level.
I randomly remember that 35 years ago I could never beat the helicopter\truck section because we always thought you had to shoot at the helicopter! My brother and I could never do it. Then I remember the internet exists today. Thank you for this! You have corrected 35 years of "how do we beat this?!" :)

Gawddam, the memories. My mom bought this game for me when on a trip in Seattle. There were two different Terminator games and I wanted the other one, but she got this one cause it was cheaper I think. Despite me whining about it, I actually played this a lot. It was pretty challenging.
The other Terminator 2 game on the Mega Drive/Genesis you were probably talking about was Judgment Day, an action-adventure game with driving sections. And I'm glad your mother did choose the Arcade one, because the T2 Judgment Day action-adventure game, as far as I know, was a *disaster* (according to AVGN, at least)!
I just got a menacer, and this game......got stuck at truck level.... now I see it's possible .....at 44 years old re discovering how cool these systems are to collect.
I remember playing this game as a kid. It seemed like it was longer than just 30 minutes to play it all the way through. I think it took me a couple of weeks to beat the game.
Had this as a kid. Only was able to beat it because I had an autofire turbo controller which hit the machine gun button so fast the meter never depleted. Also, the autofire pause for "slo-mo" made the truck level possible.
It was a hard game back then. But once it was completed I beat it just about every time. Which says a lot about me because my patience wasn't, and still isn't very good.

Cyberdyne. That's the place where you have to destroy everything or you get the bad ending. Well, not so much as a "bad ending"; you just get a message that says that Cyberdyne will continue their research and that Judgment Day was still possible, just delayed.
This game was ported over by the same devs who would go on to Port MK1 MK2 for Genesis some of the music heard here was remixed and reused for MK on Genesis later on.
I also played this for hours on end and never got passed the toyota hilux part. Pretty cool to watch. Reading the comments interested in playing the arcade version though.
As much as I played this game through to completion as a kid, I don't recall the Silverfish (snake-looking) enemies, or the vial throwing scientists at Cyberdyne.
Dawg, I swear to God I thought I was supposed to be the REAL TERMINATOR in this game when I played it as a kid. So I ended up shooting all human and the goddamn truck to oblivion. No wonder I wasn't able to pass the truck mission! Seeing the truck intact in this video made me realized all the wrong things with me.
I wouldn't say that, this game lacks digitized sprites outside of the between level picture of Arnold. Some of the redrawn sprites look awful, such as the T-1000 at the end. The SNES is much more faithful in music, and use of digitized sprites to the arcade game.
I was able to eventually get past the truck though it was always a pain in the ass. One time and one time only I managed to pass it without the turret operator being killed, only to watch the game kill him anyway! Weird and hilarious glitch.
Never had the chance to play this, but it looks hard! Who did the soundtrack to this version of the game? It sounds like Matt Furniss did this version.
This is the better port of the game, for sure. Looks and sounds better, doesn't have any slowdown, and the colors stay the same when you use the Menacer, unlike the SNES version. Once again, Genesis does what Nintendon't 🤪🤙
this version has the best music Imo, better than the SNES and the Arcade. Visually not as good as the Snes or Arcade but in some ways I like it better I can't explain why. Maybe I just like the sprite work. The Schwarzenegger knockoffs that pop up in front of the screen shooting you have a more pronounced exoskeleton sprite than the arcade....

From the year I was born 1991 my birth year they said the top selling movie of my birth year is Terminator 2 : Judgement Day classic came out in the movies and on Home Video that same year I was born back in 1991 after my mother was done with night school in Bladensburg High in 1991 when she had me that same year my father was age 29 and my mother age 19 we she finished up school.

I'd say stage 3 is worse. Surprisingly, it's the one spot where the Genesis version is harder than the arcade. The SWAT van scene isn't quite that bad.

On the truck level just aim at the middle top of the screen and fire a rocket everytime you see an HK, don't worry about the running terminators.

I beat the truck level by mastering the direction the war ship emerged from each time it appeared. Of cause I only knew each time the game ended..
