    We replaced an old Dometic in our 36 foot camper (vented). ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxDDbPbIlwLRcX_ntp51ui5UMtAUGpHYxE The install was a simple swap, all holes lined up, the electric plug back in with no trouble. Getting it on the camper was the most "difficult" part of it, and my friend made it look easy. I've seen people "sled" them up ladders as well though. I watched a UA-cam video for instructions, very easily done. Some say it doesn't come with instructions, but I found the instructions under the ac in the box. I didn't need them, but they were there.It works well to keep a 36 footer comfortable, all by itself. It doesn't seem to be any quieter than the original, but it isn't any louder either. We're very pleased with it. Esp with the ease of swapping them out.

    So been looking for operating a furnace on travel trailer. Nothing I find tells you step by step. Like so: Turn on your propane or electricity or both. Turn on the generator. ?? Newbie here.

    So, confirming you need the propane on to run the furnace and that you Cannot soly run it on electricity?

    • @TheSavvyCampers
      @TheSavvyCampers  3 роки тому

      Yes, your furnace runs on propane. Some may have an electric heat strip to provide power, but most don't.

    You forgot to show that you can see what your temp is in your RV by pushing the up or down button when it is on the off setting.

    We have the same thermostat, it works great when it's not plugged in (battery) but when we plug it in it doesn't work and only the AC/Fan unit blows cold air on "furnace" Any ideas?

    • @TheSavvyCampers
      @TheSavvyCampers  3 роки тому

      Is your furnace coming on separately when it is plugged in? On my unit, when plugged into 120v power, it will run the a/c fan unit in addition to the furnace to better distribute the air. This is an option that can be turned off. If your heater is not coming on, there could be a wiring issue, but it is weird it does work when on battery. Let me know if the furnace comes on too.

    • @jimbradbury541
      @jimbradbury541 3 роки тому +1

      @@TheSavvyCampers Thanks a ton, i figured out the issue. When plugged in, you have to select "Auto" on the fan setting, I had it on Low and then went to low furnace and the heater never kicked on, but with "Auto" it seems to be working great either plugged in or on battery. Thanks again.

      Question: i turn "on" the "furnace" mode, but the A/C blower comes "on" at the same time with the furnace unit. How can i turn off the A/C blower and just keep the furnuce air? Same thermostat as this one, and its on shore power.

      I do not have experience with this, if we have plugins available, we always bring a small heater to plug in instead of using our propane.

      @@TheSavvyCampers always let people know, if you use a space heater instead of your furnace and it's below freezing, every line in the underbelly will freeze. This was never explained to me when I was new and it caused me issues.

    • @TheSavvyCampers
      @TheSavvyCampers  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, the furnace will only heat with propane gas. Some models have a heat strip in the a/c unit or even a heat pump ac unit. Most do not have those items and run strictly on propane.

    There was another setting you should have mentioned. There is a setting that allows the furnace to go on and off to keep a more even temp. But another setting will let furnace reach desired temp then shuts off and remains off for longer. Easier on the furnace and much less annoying ..
