I’m an Apple user but this what I love about Xiaomi. They always think outside the box and serving us true innovations. Love this! 👏🏻
Same
I love the fact you're an Apple user but can just appreciate technology instead of the usual Android vs Apple crap 😕
Wish they can put in the same amount of effort in their software
@@qiyang3129 different people working on it, also, China releases from what I can gather are much more stable than global (especially India).
@@omnihein9322 nah just china, Indian variants have the worst bugs.
I've imagined a phone like this few years ago, now I know this concept isn't a gimmick, this is innovation right here♥️
I once saw a phone like this one, I think it was about 10-12 years ago. It had a retractable lens like the compact digital cameras of that time. If I'm not mistaken it was a nokia phone.
I found out what phone it is. It was a LG KU990. And it's concurent Nokia N95.
There was also Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom.
Plus I found a standalone lens that was attached to the phone. Sony QX10.
It's cool that xiaomi uses and brings to mind promising ideas from the past by the way.
We had phones like this and they all failed so hard .
Samsung, LG and Motorola made phones like this.
@@michealdavid7746 Samsung Mega was the phone's name, IIRC
@@michealdavid7746 even Sony has this years ago
These guys are always getting more and more creative with the ideas, which I freaking love.
I'm afraid Xiaomi will hurt Leica's reputation.
@@JulianMullerr it's raw sensor data capturing light off original Leica lenses, wtf are you on?
@@TuxraGamer How did you understand and accept my true feelings?
@@TuxraGamer since it is a Xiaomi, and since there is no digital connection between lens, there is NO way to get a really raw data, it will be processed anyway.
It will take a solid 20 mins to explain, but this is bullshit.
Using supreme optic on a barely good image sensor - is a bad idea. Kai W had a video about it.
They listed 1" sensor, but optics is only 1.8
@@JulianMullerr how so?
as a Xiaomi home ecosystem user, I admire their efforts for trying to figure out actual useful cases and how well they work in real everyday life scenarios. I wish the best for the company and their people.

raw footage dot exe But, I'm afraid Xiaomi will hurt Leica's reputation.
I loved the part when they said: use more gun
Leica M lenses + 1" sensor + Xiaomi post processing + instant social platforms = The best mobile camera in the world. Well done Xiaomi.
@@bognarog , Maybe you want to research more on Leica M series lenses?
@@bognarog , if you are rational, do you think S22 can beat Leica lens which costs >USD12,000 + Xiaomi combo?
"Xiaomi post processing" is bad
@@BlackParade01 at least its better than nothing :)
@@bognarog iphone camera is joke blind iphone loser😂
I kinda feel like this is where cameras WILL eventually end up. In the next 10 years or so. The technology isn't ready just yet but I think this is really cool and completely (or at least mostly) solves the issue of phones not having the hardware to match mirrorless cameras
the technology has been there for years, its people who are not ready to adopt it... if it doesn't sell in bulk then they wont want to sell it.
8BitTim But, I'm afraid Xiaomi will hurt Leica's reputation.
@@JulianMullerr why would they?
The Sensor inside the Smartphone is smaller than 1/4 of the size of an full frame sensor in real cameras that are smaller (like the SIGMA fp)
So you can get an camera that is smaller than this smarpthone, has better handling and an Sensor that is 4-times the size.
So we already invented technology that is better than this years ago.
@@zaiENT1 depents on the price point, i think if the phone itself is already 1000 bucks and they will ask the same or more for this phone it won't be sold verry much. if you want a camera you can buy one for les than 300 and most likley the photo's will be better. and wider then with this combo
This concept is more hyped than any recent smartphones launches.eagerly waiting for this to happen.
This is incredible. You guys are mad geniuses, and I really look forward to seeing people use it in action.
been a xiaomi user since 2013 Redmi 1s and going strong with Poco f3.
Let's do it Xiaomi
Though it's a concept phone, to me I think this concept is the most ambitious by far. It would be great if it will be mass produced or at least the camera module should not be dropped. I love it
Awesome! Love having proper sensor and optics on a phone camera! And the changeable lenzes as well! Looking forward to having it available in retail shops. Had a Samsung kZoom for a few years, and it was a pleasure to have proper optics and not just a glorified pinhole camera.
Good old day 😌
This looks really cool, wow. Been a while since last time we saw a smartphone try to be a full camera at the same time. Really cool concept!
I loved the 12s Ultra, this model is really amazing. I see that there is room to improve his software even more and make it even better than it already is. And now with the possibility of putting in lenses this is really amazing.
its mind blowing
André ITICE But, I'm afraid Xiaomi will hurt Leica's reputation.
This is what I've been waiting for. Looking forward to see it in the real world!
I hope this comes to production. I would love to buy in the future!
already was
Wake up
@@BLAAZE99 nope its not released.. this is a different 12s ultra.
I cannot wait for this to hit the market! I've already come back here at least 20 times to watch this masterpiece
This idea has been circulating in my mind for years and glad someone finally did it.
Back in the days Sony came up with external Lenses DSC QX100 & QX10 for smartphones.
@@vasistaa but it didn't utilize phone's sensor. Phone was more like a storage and display for an external camera.
Recently I have been thinking of the future of smartphone photography scene in coming years, and what shape it will take as technology and reasearch keeps getting more and more advanced. The most immediate idea was of attaching proper high quality glass right on to phones, just like how we do on SLRs and Mirrorless systems alike. And here Im seeing this idea already coming to a realisation and a concept has already been developed, and that too by none other than Xiaomi. As expected of you guys always being a step ahead of the curve. So remember the reason Xiaomi is my favourite brand is because you guys care about Art and Innovation. So never change!
Do yo mean never change like apple? Hehee
Same 😁
I’ve owned external smartphone lenses before that are very simple, but this absolutely takes it to the next level and I’d love to try this out someday!
Im starting to like xiaomi devices and its nice to see constant updates getting pushed to their devices daily 🥰 my Redmi Note 11 just got its October Security Patch and Android 12 upgrade as of November 9 ❤🤟
That's a good start and it's really good that you've gone with a 1" sensor - but please also make a mount adapter for Micro Four Thirds lenses which would suit the 1" sensor size a bit better than Leica M mount. Leica also manufacture Micro Four Thirds lenses so it would make sense to do this from a commercial point of view, and you would be able to reach a bigger market as more people own Micro Four Thirds lenses than Leica M lenses.
If you're able to, also offering a C-Mount adapter would be ideal too to make the best possible use out of the 1" sensor size.
For adapters like those I bet it'll be more from third parties, if, the phone manage to get popular enough
That's truly a game changer for mobile photography. 😳
This looks truly spectacular. I hope we'd able to buy this very soon
This phone is going to break the internet omg 🔥 please release this Xiaomi!!!
man i love this concept it's a similar to the dslr with a compact specification
This will be a killing smartphone. The imaging quality of a real camera and the versatility of a smartphone, this combination is absolutely insane
Finally so awesome I had drawings of this idea when I was a little kid was hopping that one day we would have something like this
Please make this concept happen!
What an incredible concept on Xiaomi .. What a camera beast💪💪Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩
Yes, Leica M lens are expensive, but at 27.3mm, the flange distance is smaller than any DSLR lens ever made. Meaning that you can use pretty much any DSLR lens ever made. There is a pledoarie of cheap good vintage lens available that will work with the right adapter to Leica M mount. Crop factor is a lot, so a 50mm will be like a tele.
I believe that this design, which almost exposes a sensor at the body plane should allow to use any of 12 other systems with shorter flange distance than Leica M - starting from 9.2 mm Pentax Q. It's only a matter of adapters. So one could use this smartphone with any system lens available on the market.
@@crazy4volvo Yes, after looking again at the video I saw how thick that adapter is and the sensor is actually flush with the mount. I would start with fast mount C lenses, like a Schneider 25mm 0.95 or an Angenieux. Those two are very small. Then I would look at Voightlander's fast primes for MFT or Chinese brands that makes fast lenses for MFT. These newer lenses are better corrected, but bulkier.
This smartphone won't go to market, but I'll expect some brand will launch one like this in the near future, maybe Sony will, Idk. The sensor in this smartphone is just a tad larger than the one found in the original Blackmagic, so the existing footage can give some insight of how 16mm and MFT lenses perform, like DoF and FoV.
i hope they make it. but the price of the phone about 300000 yuan or about $41,210. i think only a few people can afford that.
@@mxvdsgn I'm sure the price for mass production it won't be that. Maybe that was the price to build this concept, and for a concept that is not much. It's the original smartphone without the lens for the 1 inch sensor and a mount and maybe a better frame to support the lenses.
Anyway this won't be produced unless they have planned to build a few lenses.
This is what I was thinking and wanting since let's say 5 years i love it. Xiaomi is one of the few brands i would buy
Oh man, the innovations bro!!! I love this!!! It's been almost 10 years since I see camera phones like this, now this is it!!! The true innovation of imagery is here!!! Hopefully we'll get it at retail someday!!!
Taking photography to the next level 🔥
We love xiaomi 😍
Now the circular camera module makes complete sense. This looks promising.
This is what the industry needs, real innovation! I have both iPhone and Pixel but if the video is good on that one, i'll have it!
MrWhosTheBoss gonna love this
Amazing concept 😲🔥
That's truly incredible....
Hope this revolutionizes the smartphone camera department.....
ive been a xiaomi fan ever since i bought my first xiaomi phone back in 2017, i will never stop supporting this company just because they make phones that are in no comparison to other companies, only just ideas that we thought of before coming to life!
They can also carry this concept to next deeper level by giving compatibility to various lens mounting types but I think the other mount types lens weighs more than the phone can hold...
Leica M has a small flange distance, meaning that with the right adapter you will be able to mount pretty much any DSLR lens ever made, Canon, Nikon, Zeiss... you name it
Id assume smaller lenses are the most practical for the phone and easy to carry with.
Otherwise phone in the pocket, but when taking pictures would make it easy to plug in and out with small lenses. Anyway difference is huge compare to any normal phone camera.
This is getting crazy good. Xiaomi stepped up to the game and showing what they are capable of.
@@Mara941 Anyway I'm sure Leica will make some nice lens for this sensor that don't have the Leica pricetag, just like it did with Panasonic. Let's hope Xiaomi gets this on the market and it won't be just another concept.
@@BK-it8ht but the concept also does not have the m mount natively on the phone, so the m mount is an adapter anyway. an adapter for any kind of lens mount could be designed for this kind of interface
@@marianoguy exactly! Look how thick is that M adapter. There are lenses that cover 1inch and are very small. I just didn't wanted to hipe it, so price won't rise. The Angieneux or Schneider 25mm 0.95 are very compact and there are new lenses for MFT from Voightlander that are also 0.95. And a lot of Chinese manufacturers make 0.95 lenses for MFT.
This marks a before and after in cell phone photography. Only in the journalism industry it has many applications. The disadvantage is in the inaccessibility of Leica lenses, compared to other manufacturers.
Couldn't agree more. It's better to be implemented with Cannon or Nikon to reach much wider audience in photography. Sadly, Sony already has their own phone lines tho.
I've been waiting for something like this for a long time. How exciting!
This is quite astonishing! Really appreciated
This is brilliant!
I'm thinking of pre-ordering the Galaxy S23 ultra, but Xiaomi comes up with this.
This will be my one!
Same haha can't wait
Hope you have 41,000 to spend along with another 6,000 for the lens that's in this video
I would love to see this become reality
I remember my galaxy s4 zoom, great smartphone for photos too! Congratulations Xiaomi. 👏🏻
you have no idea of how many times i dreamed about this, it's just marvelous, so beautiful to see it in real life
Como fotógrafo y como usuario de teléfonos celulares para hacer fotografías, esto es algo que he estado deseando hace mucho tiempo.
I hope more in image processing, I'm a xiaomi user until now but the camera results are far from the expected improvement
I have been waiting for something like this for years. This is the last nail in the coffin for the camera market (except for the high end market, of course).
Wow.. This is something amazing, And it makes absolute sense. What cameras lack the most is power, efficiency, smart features, AI and post processing. All of the things which a smartphone doesn't lack. By combining the two, You can make something truly special!
It's a great concept device, but it will be restricted by 10bit dng files when post processing. it needs at the very least 12bit, but 14bit support would be the best. Perhaps also support for MFT lenses would be nice since they are small and cheaper than Leica's lenses which costs a small fortune.
Xiaomi it's really blissful 💯💯💯♥♥♥👏👏👏👏
This is a game changer! Imagine Nikon and Canon mount on this smartphone! As a professional photographer this will be my must-have phone once launched
I literally said that this would be an awesome feature in a smartphone two months ago for a friend, and now my favorite brand does it :)
i love Xiaomi
If this actually happened I definitely buy this phone.
from the samsung galaxy camera to this, i've been itching for a camera smartphone
I am Xiaomi user, and i am very excited to watch this..... good luck from Nepal 🇳🇵
Duh, I was having this idea for 5 years, now Xiaomi is doing it. Great job 👍🏻
Amei demais isso!!! Um sonho!!!!! 🎊🤯
After release of this, history of photography never be the same again
I really like the idea I hope they actually sell this some day
I remember when Sony tried the same idea.
I only hope that one day Xiaomi makes a UI closer to Pure Google. I cant stand with MIUI, but the phone itself are amazing.
Samsung NX and NX Mini from 2013. Check it out.
Custom rom: i am here
Always Xiaomi ❤️
Crazy, this is future, and I need it.
Yeaaaaah this is what we call taking innovation to another level well done xiaomi! I'm still enjoying my mi 9t🥰🥰🥰
yes, i have redmi note 9 pro, which is poison!!! and mi 10t pro who is even better!!!
so i will never go to iphone, cause its 3much expensive and samsung is 3 much expensive, 1400€ ...or 1500€ are you crazy samsung and iphone!??? no way!!! 🧐🤫🤯😪🥵
@@bognarog yeah i don't just love apple stuff and Samsung are expensive as u said so xiaomi forever
They are some amazing micro 4/3 lenses smaller and way cheaper!! But I agree with this concept!
1inch sensor 👽👽
@@jack-md8rq 1 inch sensor is actually much smaller, than m4/3. From all lens systems only Pentax Q would suffer from vignetting when attached to this Xiaomi concept camphone.
This is really cool, unique, and the gap between a photo and a DSLR!
Everytime XIAOMI tries to suprise there fans
Great work.👌👌👌
OMG... This concept of this Xiaomi 12s Ultra hit me inside and out...
Could Xiaomi 12S Ultra be the first-ever phone to be mounted with "Leica M lenses" in its main camera?? Really?!
Well, I might now leave the Canon DSLR camera for this feature of Xiaomi smartphone.... 😁✨
😀👍
This looks Looks super interesting, the best feature is Leica M lenses, allowing you to achieve the film look in camera along with proper depth of field! If only the 10 bit video could record in Prores or RAW then that would be amazing!
It can record raw...any android phone can shoot raw.. they just need to download motion cam...
But beware that the file size is extremely large
@@akagetobimaru1994 Thanks for that I wasn't aware of that app, looks like it does DNG files similar to the Sigma FP which is ideal for editing in Davinci Resolve. But yes the files for DNG are large!
@@Renclif you can try it, no problem 👍
"Film look"? These lenses were designed to fit a digital sensor. There's no such thing as a "Film look" anyways.
@@resiyun Leica lenses do produce a certain look in-camera which looks less digital, they are famous for their unique colour rendering, sharpness and contrast. Similar to Leica R lenses they were first produced for film cameras in the 1950's. I personally love Leica R and M lenses for their character and a lot of people use them with digital cameras for this reason. I'm pretty sure that's why they chose the Leica M mount for this camera.
Beautiful
I would like to know if it is included in dxomark's tests, it looks very professional, but I would also like to know what it can actually do
i mean how do i shove the entire lens in my pocket
@@RSCB keep the lens in your bag, use the normal phone camera and take out the lens when needed. .🤦♂ (they said the phone camera works without the added lens too)
Being a enthusiastic photographer I think this might be ground breaking if they manage to achieve this flawlessly. However, I really do doubt it because of
1. Limitations of a 1" sensor
2. Lens attachment problems
3. The improbability that many people would prefer this
4. No viewfinder
@@eaMCMLXXIX yeah
@@eaMCMLXXIX 5. No mechanical shutter (so far).
Ok.
With a bigger sensor, a good grip, big and quick changeable accus (mignon cage, please), a viewfinder, hot shoe, more dedicated mechanical buttons, mechanical shutter, better bajonett it would be nice. In my opinion they could shrink the display and kick out the cellphone nonsense, too.
@@eaMCMLXXIX thats the problem
no matter how big smartphone cameras make their sensors or how smart they make their A.I
Digital Cameras are very literally perfect for the job they do
I can see this device becoming the one for photographers
cool concept i'm waiting for this release soon
Wow. This is the next level photography. Would love to review it ☺️
Oh, Hi there👋.
I lost your channel. Finally found it here😂.
I was waiting for this Innovation for long. Not a MI Fan, but this is game changer. No doubt. 👍🏼
what a great phone, im a xiaomi user since i bought my mi mix2, a beautiful phone, still working pretty decent for now. This is going to be the go for my new phone clearly
okay this is fucking awesome! We need this phone.
If the photos in the film are taken with this camera and lens, it's a total disaster. The first tests show that the Chinese phone cameras still have too narrow a focus (photos are sharp in the centre) and exaggerated brightness on faces. besides, this lens will probably cost "a million".
also falsify colours
I am very hyped as photographer who also shoots Leica (M6) but I'd like to know how you deal with the 3x crop factor? Is the adapter equipped with a reducer? A 0.8 reducer that is commonly used in astrophotography would make 35mm lens into a 84mm on a 1 inch sensor. I would love to test that phone. Astrophotography included!
This video gave me goosebumps... Dream came true style
que incrivel, xiaomi superando o mercado de celulares como sempre
I would buy this in a heartbeat if it was a global device! Imagine if we use a converter and attach Canon or Sony lenses!
Now That's Called Innovation Well Done Xiaomi!!! you Guys Always think out of the Box 🔥🔥
I thought this image was a joke in the beginning. But I was surprised after this vid. You guys are serious! I really wanna give it a try.
We really want one! 😍
Feels like being back in the pre smartphone era, when phone companies used to be actually innovative like this.
There's time and place for everything. This concept came out a few years back and people hated it. But after covid and with many people pushing their own content, a smartphone with professional lens is almost a must.
Also, please make the adapter work with ND filter.
simply beautiful, id consider buying this
Love Xiaomi. Have the Redmi 10 and it hasn't missed a beat in years. Will definitely get another Xiaomi.
This reminds me of the Samsung S4 Zoom that I have. With a modern concept and advanced specs and lens.
What an awesome concept!
this will make revolutuion in smartphone camera
Photography is going next level
This took my breath away
