    email from the "maker":
Hello. It held up a lot for a 3mm sheet. The film is very spectacular. Thank you very much.
I'm glad I sent it to you.
The cutting edge quickly curled because it is a zero grind. The sharpening angle is 13° on each side. This is a knife mainly for working in wood and with such a blade it works very well in it. I do the grinding on a wheel. It is slightly concave. This improves cutting and makes sharpening easier. But unfortunately it is more susceptible to damage after contact with hard materials. I expected it to be like that 😅
I make the handle from various laminates. This micarta turned out quite poorly indeed. Fortunately, I also use original USA micarta and g10 😁
Link to the store. Recently made. Still needs some fixing but maybe it will be finished before the premiere.
    noze-kw.pl/
Thank you again. Your video will help me a lot. It's great that you record such tests. I think I'll send something again sometime. Best regards

This guy knows what he is doing. Bainitic microstructure (what he uses) is tougher than the usual martensite. If the steel was thicker, it probably would survive the iron test.

Interesting, the spearpoint shape on a bushcraft knife, makes it venture into the frontier knife territory.
Usually they have a simple drop point.
The grip shape is nice on the front, I could do a pinch grip and cut off sewing yarn. Which would make that thing replace most of the crap other people haul around.
I think the design is pretty much perfect for me.
The quality seems good enough for the price too.
I'm sure if that guy sells enough, the heat treatment will improve too.
The only way he can fuck up, is by advertising it as unbreakable.

@@joex Hitting a cobble stone is one thing, but that ring ding iron pipe sure is another test all together. The harmonic ring sure transfers and find the stress lines in the steel structures. The harder the steel the more it is going to chime through and suffer. Even the thickness of the steel is no defence and might actually be detrimental.
Someone, not me, might find a method to normalise a steel again from stress fractures from the heavy work your destruction tests give. Trouble is needs to be done before catastrophic break.

It's 52100 heat treated to bainite. Should be interesting.
52100 is good and bainite treatment should make it better.
