Awesome knife. Held up extremely well. 52100 STEEL is great. Hope it will be available on ebay or amazon in Euro as well, because i don't understand polish and it's curency.
This guy knows what he is doing. Bainitic microstructure (what he uses) is tougher than the usual martensite. If the steel was thicker, it probably would survive the iron test.
@@here_be_dragons9184 No, it's another guy, not related. But he charts 52100 steel the same way as tlim. That is, isothermally called Bainite. However, he does not use a salt furnace. the results are very good.
That was downright impressive. I didn't expect it to survive past the tip test. It passed with flying colors. Then it passed the brick as well. Really didn't expect that after the car chops chewed up the edge. Kudos to the maker. And kudos to you for dealing with that insane heat bringing us this Marlboro content.

Excellent work, as always. I enjoy hearing about new knife makers, and a bonus is to see them tested. It can really elevate the smaller guys especially if they are doing good work, like this one. Great performance! Wow that bend test! I think eventually we may need to write a book of Joe X one-liners. Would love to see something from Reiff go through your testing! Based on the DBK guys hammering one into metal, it looks like it will hold up better than the Bark River did with similar sizes available.

Interesting, the spearpoint shape on a bushcraft knife, makes it venture into the frontier knife territory. Usually they have a simple drop point. The grip shape is nice on the front, I could do a pinch grip and cut off sewing yarn. Which would make that thing replace most of the crap other people haul around. I think the design is pretty much perfect for me. The quality seems good enough for the price too. I'm sure if that guy sells enough, the heat treatment will improve too. The only way he can fuck up, is by advertising it as unbreakable.
