Like the old saying goes,"the hardest part of a journey is the 1st step." I'm always procrastinating about the weather, things to do,where to go,how long etc.
Hello Pavlin Hope all is well with your family and friends. I’ve watched many many of your episodes and you did one on bike locks. What Did you recommend?
Greetings from Poland. This summer I'm going to Bulgaria for a month to Sveti Vlas :) I'm 41, I got my driving license a year ago thanks to your videos :) It would be nice to meet for coffee or beer and talk. Have a wide road and safe trips.
Hi Pavlin ! Very useful video ! As usual, should I say ! Your channel is one of the most interesting and documented on UA-cam. It is very useful to know about your average budget for each trip, the lending or renting for motorbikes - especially in AUS and NZ. I plan a Europe tour this year, and your budget is very helpful. I hope you will have wonderful trips in East Africa and South America this year.
Fantastic news about South America I am planing a trip in 5 years so it will be more likely for me if you're happy with you're trip I am from the far north of Scotland . did a good bit off south Africa 30 years ago now the kids are up time to do some more /work/fun with the time I have left haha .you are a star ⭐
A backup plan is very important if you have health problems. On our trip from Portugal to Greece/Turkey/Bulgaria last year we arrived in the Pyrenees and I felt unwell, so I decided to head for Barcelona and if I felt okay I would turn left, if not turn right and head back home. I didn't feel great but thought "better to regret something you did, than something you didn't do".. The trip was fantastic and I met up with my friend I haven't seen for 20 years who was on a Med Cruise and had some laughs. We are busy planning another European trip to eastern Europe, but first a trip on my Enfield to southern Thailand which got held up. Thanks for the info.
A good plan gives you the ability to roll with the punches when life happens on the road. The trick is to make a plan that is loose enough for that puncture, that detour, that buddy along the way. In regards to bikes in far away places, one can always buy a decent bike and then resell it when the journey is done. This is also adventurous.
Great video as always. I have two bikes, VanVan 125 and Vstrom 1050xt. Planing a trip, (couple 100 kms) mainly on dirt roads. The Vstrom is too heavy but my concern about the VanVan is that if something happens to it's tyres I would be in trouble getting new ones. So I'm not so sure which one to take 😅.
You should be able to get a tube, I have a 125 Vanvan too, a couple of 100km off road on a sand bike sounds a bit odd but you should make it. As I said in the comment above "better to regret something you did, than something you didn't do".. Take it easy and you will be fine and have fun...and as our main man says keep the luggage down to a minimum. One very good thing about the Vanvan is the low CofG. Bonne chance.
If you one day make a trip to visit portugal i have a few points to show you in the interior of the country and a place for your moto stay safe if you need💪🏻🇵🇹
Really enjoy your videos. I watch with my Wife (she is pillion rider). I use your advice. We notice your lovely wood burner. how hot does it get by the thermometre behind you. Is it multifuel. Who is the partrait behind you. Did you make the suspension light and the one on the shelf. Is there any money in the piggy bank (on the shelf). Does the old TV work. Thank you. I watched twice (one for being nosey and one for listening)
It is only wood burner and make the garage comfortable very fast. Te guy on the portrait is Vasil Levski: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vasil_Levski. The light was a gift from a friend. No money in the pig, still...The TV works, or at least worked before we removed it many years ago. Thanks for your time!
Top Tips. Covers everything without over complications. Plans mean you are free to relax, and your surprises are nice ones. Question. What are the records hanging on the wall, and their significance? Great mancave. And that cylinder fire is excellent! Ride safe. 👍
If you dont have over the ankle motorcycle boots dont ride at all until you do dont risk it 😊 Also have an automatic crash detection on your smartphone just incase. And a medical info card on you.
Hello! Thank You very much for all the advises! I'm a fan of your videos. I'm going to start traveling very lightly and off the main axes after having done asphalt touring with a FJR 1300 for a few years. May I ask you one question please? I'm considering the Tenere because it's simple, robust, fun to drive and it handles long distances (I spent a few days with a '21 version and I was impressed). Would you recommend to buy a base one and upgrade it with stiffer springs or go with the World Raid, which has better suspension right away? And it has a bigger tank, which may be handy, but heavier... actually, I think a already answered my question. But your opinion would comfort me, thanks a lot! Kind regards from Switzerland.
World Raid has "different"but not better suspension. It has 20mm more travel and preload, but the same soft springs. 2 tanks comes with 20kg extra weight.
A friend of a friend of a friend of a friend can be the the greatest person you ever met on the road in a far away place. Meet and get to know the locals. Let social media work for you if available. Nothing like friendships. Alphabet soup, have several plans. I'll try to get you some info on shipping bike to SA. Generally $5000 from Europe to Brazil and much time. Hard to buy a bike there and ride it around then sell. Have to check very closely on that. Not many places require a Carnet de Passage. Check Noraly's info. Get your shots for Africa. That will be fantastic trip. Our Nomad Swede and Nordic friends did Tanzania. So maybe some good info from them. They rented bikes. Interesting travels for you. Learn some Portuguese phases.
Avoid Venezuela, have sailed there ten years ago on our sail boat. A den of thieves then, now one hundred times worse. Be careful. Come and visit us n Tzaneen South Africa. Paradise is here I have nine bikes.Yamaha Xt 660

I still have many places to go...

Any bike will be a compromise.

Very informative tips as always and I'm happy to hear you will visit our continent kenya and tanzania wich is nearest to south africa.
Not sure yet, but we will see.

Which one exactly, Richard?
I understood, now. They are just random that I found at my parent's home.
@@motorcycleadventureswas just curious. I think vinyl records have a quality and soul modern playing methods lack. But it's making a comeback!
I recently saw in a friend's house, a modern gramophone. Such a pleasure to listen to it! It reminded me of the moments when I was a small kid.
Good information from a very economical experience motorbike tourer

Are you learning some Portuguese and Spanish for your South America trip? :)
I can make a simple conversation on Spanish. Just a few words on Portuguese.

Absolutely!
