Loved this video! Stephen is a masterful storyteller. He demonstrated the ancient method for sharing indigenous knowledge for human existence, and he stayed true to his community-based and family-based identity by adding humourous and improvised details.

He has that “storyteller” voice. Reminds me of being a child and listening to my momo and his brothers

Richibouqto Fire River and Partridge haven't heard in awhile born there as well. Connection with the spirit as well goes way back not sure where it comes from but not obsessed about it just there . Sawadee Khap.

Crusaders came 1511, they brought holy relics and gave them to Mi'kmaq to hide from the Roman empire. The story I know is Lumpo'koq, where it was hidden for 500 years, it's part of the fork in the road prophecy, "8", also legends of kluscap, the sacred bundle that got sent to the west from two otters.

The relics is what gave Mi'kmaq Lnu insight of things to come, I know its hidden by or under water, got more information which i am working on testing this summer. The goal is to find these relics and trade them for the original wampum belts. My dad Face said great grandmother was last belt holder in Cape breton unamaki, marshall family before it was stolen from another family that sold them to the Vatican.

There are subjective versions of this story, depending on your community and the creative improvised methods of the storyteller. Sweet that we can add our own storytelling method to share the knowledge.

@@rodneybeaulieu9550 I found the relics, was gifted the book with the 5000 year old mikmaq letters and words and story (micmac petroglyphs and hieroglyphs), it was translated and interpreted my dad gave me the 3rd interpretation, I went down to look at the land Mark's and found the 3 that had them in the book, went to check them all out on my last spot I found the cave and found a bunch of relics and sword shield coins and what I believe is one of the ark of the covenant. #keepersofknighttemplartreasure

Some of my connections are in the Martin/Lejeunes(Young) and a lady named Catherine Duval, and others. My family has been aound the radius of Esgenoopetitj for 300+ years. There is a internet rumour of my 20 time ancestor Laurent Granger stating he was Mi'kmaq. Is any elder or member of Grand Council able to confirm or deny the rumour?

Its fine to let people come long as they dont cause harm or crimes. That's why it's important for people to be checked by means of vetting people. Why let troubling people who break rules dont care about the land or the people come? That's why it's important to have people come the rightful way. 😊 yes, if the Natives made sure good people come they wouldn't of had the troubles they had. Its just logical and smart. Thats why these evil people killed our people took our land and mistreated us. 😢

I see a lot of this rudeness on social media in the Mi'kmaq community. Is there a reason for this? Is there an intelligent and respectful answer?
