DIY groomer of two 20lb doodles here. The grooming table with the harness makes a HUGE difference. I tether under belly and around neck. Never thought of the front tether. Good idea.
Shih Tzus are so funny they have a little chip about everything but are very sweet.

My dog gets really freaked out and ends up almost hurting herself whenever I try to trim her legs or cut her nails. I can do most of the grooming at home( washing and cutting her hair) but she just goes crazy about her paws being touched. Even shaving her backside is easier than trying to get near her paws, she thrashes around like crazy. She’s pretty old too so her nails get out of control fast.
Help. I am in a grooming academy through ABC Animal Behavior College and I accidentally nicked my maltipoo girl Rosie at her bottom eye lid. I applied first aid. Was not serious enough to take her to the vet but now she’s afraid and stressed more than she already was with me practicing grooming. She’s so fidgety when I groom her too
Help, my schnauzer's nails are so long. He won't let me cut them, just goes crazy. Other than that, he's a perfect little gentleman when l groom him.
Make an appointment with your vet to have the nails trimmed every 6-8 weeks.
@@GoGroomer My vet doesn't care if he hits the quick or not. I take mine to the groomer's, but what do you think about PetSmart?
@@pollygraph9977 sometimes hitting the quick is necessary to get the nails short enough. if you dislike it, buy a dremmel and diy
Buy your dog a grooming harness with hooks. That way you can hang him up while trimming his nails. My dog is small, only 5lbs. I hang him up on side of my son's bunk bed and trim his nails like that. I paid only $12 off eBay for my dog's grooming harness.
@@ambitiousbeauty1013 I found some dogs will just not tolerate the hammock. They always look great on the videos but some if they are adamant will try to fight it and you still can't cut nail. Some biters will find their way out of muzzles to.
What about for a maltipoo?
My maltipoo growls and shows his teeth and gets complaints at the groomer. I am not sure what to do anymore.

That won't help with my Standard Poodle. He came to me two years ago with medications to sedate him for grooming sessions, and I groom him myself to make it easier on him... He still struggles to get away from clippers, scissors, and having his legs and paws handled in ANY capacity.
What medications? My dog is very aggressive and I can't find grooming services that offer medications

What helps ? I don’t understand. Have a very petulant pet who won’t. E groomed. A labradoodle 😢
Practice at home, it really helped to start home grooming to prep my doodles for the professional groomer. I brush them every night and got them used to baths. I even held my partners electric shaver that vibrated in my hand and touched my dog with it turned on so they wouldn’t be scared of clippers. It takes time & patience. Our pups only know what we teach them. Hope this helps you and sets you guys up for success!!

Amazon sells groomers helpers, but Canadian grooming distributer and Lynn professional has a different version of the helper at a more affordable price.
Gosh! This dog looks so stressed: she pants, licks her nose, blinks. It all looks like a torture. You just choked her and didn't give her any chance to move.
This dog is not choking…..
