Thank you so much!:) I appreciate all the feed back definitely wicking down for the tin and straight sided jars, I actually didn't know that there were different sized wood wicks to try out:) Thanks again!:)
Well, Wade, you've done it. I don't even burn candles, but watching your videos has put a candle making bee in my bonnet! Now I have an endless list of questions. Would you maybe do some videos (or recommend a reputable, trustworthy source) discussing pillar candles, sculptural candles, multi-color candles, coloring candles in non-layers (dots or waves or something) I'm a sculptor/painter and have a million ideas that I'd like to explore! Keep in mind I have ZERO candle knowledge outside of what I've seen on your channel. Side note, I vote you do more videos with your boys- they are so much fun!
Love these reviews because I learn so much! I do have a question for you!! What are your views on coconut wax? I’m about to jump in and order supplies to get the adventure rolling. Thanks again for your wisdom and sharing!
Can I please get the address to send mine into you. Thank you for bringing the reviews back and I know you have been EXTREMELY business.. CONGRATS. I am a disabled veteran who just decided to take the leap "Distinctly Him Candle Company"
@Latrice Johnson Thank for your service as well soldier, I did 23 years total and 13 in an Infantry unit and paratrooper unfortunately now I'm broke up and deal so much pain EVERYDAY, candles are therapy for me.
I posted on an older video, but are you able to share where you source your white plastic eick centring device from. Love your information, it's been very beneficial. I do have 1 question about wicks, usually I pick the right size for containers but every so often I notice wayward flames, lots of flickering, does this mean the wick is too large?
@@BlackTieBarn I understand! You're a very busy man! The videos you put out are VERY much appreciated! And I look forward to your video on this. Hopefully, it's before I actually melt the 6046 I recently got 😆 but if not 🤷🏼♀
Wade...Genuine question. Do you sometimes feel that candle makers do TOO MUCH? I'm taking you as a very successful candle maker, as an example. YOUR choice of jars...versus more expensive ones. I actually don't know how to phrase this question without stepping on toes (on yours as well as on other Makers' toes). But hoping you can sort of read between the lines?
It's just that...The current candle making world is almost like creating this sort of narrative that expensive jars are the way to go - only to later find out that - that isn't always the case. I have come across a lot of successful co's that use "plain jars" that the majority of Makers sort of steer away from? You know what I mean?
I wouldn't say it's doing too much, moreso... finding the style they want. The jars you are referring to of mine are just one collection. I like it because it's an affordable option for customers and still can look nice. I offer more luxury looking ones as well but they don't sell as much. At least for me one the years
Thank you Wade! I am new to candle making and noticed some of my soy 464 candles are forming small bubble(s) on the top after curing. Do these bother customers? I know some want smooth surfaced candles and some don't mind.
Hi Wade. Thanks so much for your informative videos. I do have a question. I am struggling trying to find a wick that goes well with the Igi 4627wax. I have a 3 inch diameter jar and started out using a single zinc wick which doesn’t seem to work. I tried doubling and the flame is either 2 large with major mushrooming or I get teeny tiny flames after an hour or so with the smaller sizes but got a full melt at 3 hrs which I found odd. I tried the premiers with just using one wick in all different sizes and there is way too much soot and large flames after a couple hours. Needless to say I’m quite frustrated. Any advise is greatly appreciated.oh yeah and I’m using 8% fo.
I don't use that wax much but most prefer lx wicks with it if thst helps at all. I know some who also use eco and cd but recall those being very hot and smokey for me. Sorry I'm not much help here but I do plan on using this wax more in the future
My wife and I would love to send you some products from our tiny candle business. Would you please let me know where we can send them to. We've watched your channel for some time now and have used a lot of your tips on our journey and would love to share our candles with you. Thank you for your time

Try acandleco.com and yes abounds like need more testing if it's excessive flickering sootz etc. If not excessive... not a big deal
Wonderful, thank you.
Nice job

Hi! I Thank you for your videos. I find them very helpful. Do you have any plans on reviewing/testing IGI 6046?
I do. It's on my list just not sure when I'll get to it yet. So much content, so much to do, so little time. 🤣

Anyway. It's really lovely that even though your life is so incredibly hectic, you still make time to review other Makers' candles.
Respect 🤜🤛

I doubt it bothers most customers. But you may get some questions about it. Not a huge deal
👍🏽🙏🏽❤️ thank you for the feedback!

You can shoot me an email to youtube@blacktiebarn.com to and go from there. :)
