Most Golf R owners upgrade to the Rs3. That daza engine is special
The DAZA engine is in the old shape 8v model . The engine in the 8y is DNWA which in my opinion isn't as good
@damienhostey7804 wrong, this is same Daza engine with more power and more usable power across the whole rev range! Huge improvement overall, and I owned both 8V and 8Y!!
@@speeddemon311According to the forums, 2018+ has the DNWA. DAZA and DNWA are relatively the same despite differences in emissions.

I cant wait to see the rs3 vs m2 comparison videos in the future. I found you because of the Golf R but I don't blame you for moving up. Most Golf R owners would love VW to make one with that 5-cylinder engine. I think VW wanted to but Audi said no.
Yeah same! Looking forward to the comparisons. I heard the handling goes to the BMW, but that 5 cylinder is so special. It will be interesting to see which car you would prefer to drive day after day.
Nice! Hard to keep cars a long time. I have a 15yr old c63 with only 62k miles. Owned it for 14yrs. To this day its a rocket. 440whp NA. Only tune. Last of its kind.

I had a FBO M7.5 Golf R, just got my 8Y RS3 as well. NO regrets absolutely LOVE it. If youre looking for an intake DONT get IE, i had theirs on my Golf and GTI but on the RS3 its not nearly as good. Get the Unitronic Midpipes, i got the valved AWE exhaust, and it sounds insane. As far as intakes Eventuri makes a nice one but AWE actually makes a nice one as well. MAKE sure you get the adaptor for your intake or that they come with it. The 8Y specifically need it.

Love the Rs3, congrats!! The only thing you may miss about the Golf R is the small hatch feel. I guess a little crazy having an M2 and an RS3, but as a fellow car nut, I get it!!
I too have a diverse garage... My daily is a Tesla S Plaid and weekend toy a ZLE m6. I had a 2020 CFTP GT500 (greatly miss) and Hellcat charger prior.. My wife daily's a 20' X3m40i and my son an MK8 GTI w/ dsg.

Congrats on the RS3! Absolutely love these and have been wanting one for a few years myself. My wife and I are enjoying our SQ5 and A3 for the time, but this is a car I definitely want to get in the near future. I agree, historically, they hold their value very well compared to other Audi vehicles that depreciate like a rock if you drive them quite a bit. lol I'm looking forward to a lot more videos. I think I'll get a 25 or 26 RS3. I'm very curious what changes they'll make on the 8Y.5
Probably tad lil more hp. Just like 8.5 golf r 2025 to 333hp. Other than that it is just facelift

It’s a cool car, still warming up to it. As of right now I like my M2 10x better. Definitely will NOT sell my M2

Youll have the issue as the r8 with the tuning. No tcu available. Think you cant even tune the ecu either yet. Nice car though. Well done.
I like to enjoy the cars stock for a little while before jumping into tuning anyway

I told you you should get an RS3. Now, here you are. Congrats. That's what I wanted in 2022, but it was another year before RS3 was going to come, so had to settle for an S3. RS3S are awesome. Stock, the have been clocked at 3.3 sec 0-60. If you ever decide to modify it, there is a place in Phoenix that specializes in 5 cylinder Audis and can get that bad boy to 642 HP. Very good choice with the car and color. Congrats.

We also have a 2023 20th Anniversary Golf R. A 5 cylinder Audi is something I have wanted for years, but it has not been meant to be. For some reason, every time we are due for a car change, it doesn't work out. In October 2021, RS3 was a year away, and it was time for us to replace one of our cars, so we went with S3. In 2023, it was time to replace the other car, but we didn't want 2 cars that looked almost identical, so we went with Golf R.
Ah okay. Maybe you can get a 2025/2026 RS3 after the facelift
I may be mistaken, but 2025 is last year for 5 cylinder Audi RS3. That car will most likely be a collectors car 10 to 15 years from now (last 5 cylinder Audi). 5 cylinders is what put Audi on the map back in the 80s.

I’m about to legit do this today, I’m sick of the squeaks, buzzing, rattles in my 23 R. It’s unacceptable and it’s hard to get over.
Sick car and do hold their value great. As long as your finances in order and your living situation is comfortable why not!
Get a valved exhaust with mid pipes and jb4. You have to hear that motor more. Congrats I love my 8y.
Bro. I'm in the same exact position. I'm on my 2nd GTI right now, love the car and the platform to death and swore i'd have my GTI till it dies. Welp. I got an allocation for an RS3 and i pulled the trigger on it. Picking it up late summer and man i hope i dont have any regrets because the GTI has a special place in my heart for the practicality and fun i've had throughout the years in it. Going from GTI to RS3 is a huge jump in performance i'm excited but yeah the cost has been in the back of my mind too if it's a worthy upgrade because the GTI is just such a good car for the price. Let me know what you think of the car and if its been worth it.

I really love the look of the 8Y and the cabin is beautiful. I don't think there is much doubt the Rs3 is superior (I would love one) but be interested to see from a daily driver point of view also- I think the golf excels here- I got 48mpg out of it this week!!

Not a fan of buying used. Especially cars with good resale value like an RS3. Might as well spend the extra few thousand to buy a brand new one.

@@speeddemon311 He does brings up some valid points that I agree with actually. MK8 Golf R is a very capable car but I kept mine stock. I personally wanted a little more character(Engine) and to me I am enjoying the RS3 8Y a lot more(Stock for Stock). Sounds better and looks better, and to me it feels way better built. I came from multiple BMW M Cars, JDM cars, and even a 991.2 911. He just needs more seat time with the car. Once its tuneable I'm sure he'll like it even more.

Congrats on the new car! I'm assuming you traded the R into the Audi dealership. Did you disclose the tune to the dealership for the next owner? It's either already TD1 flagged or will be when the new owner makes a warranty claim and they scan the car. Am I wrong in assuming the original manufactures warranty is still intact for the next owner? I'd be curious to hear if the tune played a roll in the trade in value of the R.
So it seems like the tune didn’t affect it. I disclosed it to them. Once they plugged it in their scanner, they saw it’s been flashed and they’re not gonna retail the car. They’re gonna auction it.

Great choice, can’t go wrong with that. It’s just gonna be very expensive and depreciation will be pretty big on that one.
@@FL34O- I had the F80 and it was a monster. RWD M3 and was just a beast for its top end speed and pickup from a higher roll. If you get the XDrive you're good but if you go Rwd even your stock R will beat it to 60 before it gaps you silly lol

Dealerships don’t “special order” you a car, they just got an allocation for one and let you choose the spec because it wasn’t built yet. That goes for any brand if you order a car and choose not to buy it when it lands they have to still deal with selling it.

@@RDriver2.0I have a buddy with a MK6 R coupe APR Stage 3 and it is a beast. He actually tracks the car and will keep up with most Porsche’s and other track focused cars on the track!

I have an M2 G87 as well, while my first plan was an Audi RS3, then a Toyota Supra and then it came to the M2 so I'm really glad you've got this car and cant wait for some comparison videos. Congratulations 🎉

And the Quattro system is more like Quattro in other Audis on this chassis

Great colour choice. Your RS3 will keep up with the M2 on Trofeo Rs on track not sure though if Audi offers that tyre choice. I own 2020 RS3 and love it. Yours is better off launch but mine is better from rolling.
I don’t track my cars so I’m not too concerned with track. They both handle well, although I like the M2’s handling better. Straight line speed (rolling) M2 got it for sure

I bought my GTI partially thanks to you, then you get the R. I was like “okay, all good. I can still follow your vids” (same car)… now you’re entirely on a different tax bracket with my dream car. Going to take me a while to catch up. Next year or two when I can get a RS3, you’re probably going to be in a RS7 or something lol. Can’t keep up with you man.
Hahaa no worries. I planned on keeping the Golf for a long time. This was out of nowhere. I’ll most likely never buy a car like an RS7 because depreciation is too much and I like buying new

I have a 23 RS3 and 24 Golf R. Call me crazy, but I prefer driving the Golf R over the RS3 overall. It's also nice to get more for less in the Golf such as illuminated door handles, cooled seats, heated wheel, approach unlock etc
You’re absolutely right! Golf r is better in many ways. I’ll be making several videos comparing them both
@@JVette01 the DQ500 is a beast when open throttle. Otherwise, it's pretty clunky in comfort and auto/normal driving. I think that's the main reason why I prefer the Golf as a daily. A lot more smooth acceleration/shifts and lower end torque. RS3 is still a great car too. 7200 miles on mine and 2300 on the Golf!

Bro I love your channel I love the content I bought a Mark 8 GT I mainly because of your experience with yours unfortunately it didn't fit my lifestyle needs with a baby and a pretty good-sized family so I traded it in for a GLI which worked out much better
But I think deep down inside you know you kind of messed up the money that it cost you to get out of your perfectly good car that you actually loved to get into a new car that you don't know exactly if you're going to like it or not is a huge financial Gamble now you have to take into account the loss of the money from your trade-in and the loss and depreciation of the new vehicle and that is how you get your calculations for your total cost of your vehicle that you're in now

No. I would’ve hated everyday driving it knowing I picked the wrong trans choice. And no, the m2 is automatic. Old cars manual is cool but modern cars, nope

Despite the shortness, it feels just as if not more spacious than the Mustang. Definitely feels more spacious than a Camaro. Great use of space in the M2. I love it.

Terrible weather right now in my part of Mexico so it will be bad times. Fall will be better
Last summer I was this close to buying a 2018 RS3 with low clicks but walked away. Couldn't justify the cost when my stage 2 R felt significantly faster in all areas. I mean the DAZA looked fantastic and sounded good but it wasn’t happening. I could have dumped money into tuning like i did with my R but my Golf was already mine and I didnt want to finance high payments again. Plus I spent like $8k on software/boltons etc.
I did walk away from a MK8 R in 2021 as I wasn't feeling it. Was neverv a fan of the MK8 exterior esthetics even though the engine was improved. Plus the buttonless interior was super annoying and I felt and still feel it looks like a KIA. IF you are over 40 like me and a VW purest you'll know what I mean.
But.......the new RS3 is on another level. Audi has made significant improvements to the 8Y. It will hands down outperform that M2 of yours stock for stock!

Thanks for the comment! It will NOT out perform the M2 though. We will test it for sure but seat of the pants, it feels significantly slower than the m2

Actually that wouldn’t make sense. RS3 and golf do the same thing, with the rs3 being slightly less practical. Besides, I love my M2 and never wanna sell it unless it’s for another one
