Thanks for the informative video. I simulated exactly same scenario in which error popped up while converging. Finally, it converged by reducing time step size.
you prolly dont care but if you are stoned like me during the covid times then you can stream pretty much all of the new movies on InstaFlixxer. Have been binge watching with my girlfriend for the last few months xD
Thanks for the video. Can you do something on plastic injection molding using fluent. Especially settings up the material and boundary conditions. Really grateful
Hi, what will happen if I choose VOF model itself instead of choosing first Eulerian and then multi phase VOF? Can you explain how to choose particular model between these two? Also, what about the DPM (Discrete phase model)? Can I use DPM for the same example?
Also, if the problem involves the water at such temperature and pressure so that it is vaporized partially, what model I need to use additionally? I will need to use energy equation that's what I know for sure. But how do I take care of the phase change?
I have modelled exactly same as done in tutorial. But at the time of solving it says global courant number is greater than 250. Solution is diverging. How to solve this error?
after initializing the solver, you need to assign which results you want to see in the result output window, according to that you can get the pressure and velocity at any particular point or zone w.r.t time.
Hello, Can you help me on similar type of problem. I have a tank, where the water will be flowing in from top (which will be inlet) and will be drained or sucked using a pump from side. Since the tank will be empty initially, the water level inside the tank should reach the level of drain pipe (to consider, the drain pipe is located 1m from bottom). Once the water level reached this level, we need to drain the water using pump.
Hi...best hands-on for multiphase Eulerian flow...I have a doubt ..After Run, animation/time steps stop after impact on the lower wall...says "Global Courant number is greater than 250.00 The velocity field is probably diverging. Please check the solution and reduce the time-step if necessary." I thought of changing mesh to change the characteristic time but since it worked for you shouldn't it work for me too? edit: I tried making the mesh smaller by doubling the edge mesh to 2 times...now the solution runs until a quarter filling of the tank but then diverges
Sir..if we LL do abrasive jet machining simmulation using this software and after the flow of abrasive impact on the work surface what will be the configuration of work surface can we do such simmulation??
sorry I have not worked in such type of simulation , but as I know It can be done, as I had seen some of the FEA tutorials in which the milling and turning simulation has been done with chips removal from the work piece, such type of analysis are non linear analysis and might be done.
@@AnsysTutor I looked at the console log and it says global courant number is greater than 250 the velocity field is probably diverging please check the solution and reduce time step if necessary This occurs at time step 184 and after that calculation completed window pops up
Hi. Thank you so much for the video. This is my first multiphase simulation. The error that is throwing is : global courant number is greater than 250. Velocity field is probably diverging. Please check the solution and reduce time step if necessary. Should I reduce the time step size and start the simulation from beginning? Because when I’m reducing from 0.001 to 0.0005 it’s still throwing the error.
Hello. Thanks for your tutorial. It is great. I was able to follow it. However, can you please let me know how it was save into mp4 or equivalent video output? thanks
Hello, I have initial concentration of CO2 released from people ,of initial concentration 40000 ppm .How to define this condition ?? in cell zone condition (source term ) or boundary condition? And how to covert unit?
I have tried to simulate this, and solved. Thanks alot ! But now I faced a problem, I can not obtain the animation. How can I do this ? Because you did not give steps to obtain the animation. Thank you so much.
I have the same problem, however, I want to simulate a drop that falls with air flow. In many tutorials, the drops are used as in a tracking line and I want to know if I can make a drop and observe the phenomena of heat transfer and mass (loss of mass and drag) when I have variable diameters and temperature conditions (input and exit).
Hi! like all your videos! excellent !! i just have a doubt, i've run the simulation, but, the behavior of fluid once it enters in the container, tends to separate in round form, and this shapes impact in the wall, in agreement with your animation, the fluid travel is in a straight path, i think because it's a laminar fluid? can you explain me something about it, i've use all parameters like in the video (meshing discretization, water-air material, boundary conditions, and time step 0.001, thanks so much for your work !! Keep please! Best UA-cam channel of this kind !!! Greetings from Mexico.
Can I simulate bubble formation in water (due to the gas injection nozzle at the bottom) just by reversing the primary and secondary phases considered in the above model? Or do I need to use some other model?
@@AnsysTutor Thanks. I followed the same process and reversed the primary and secondary phases. Even if I am increasing the gas velocity, the bubble size is still large which should not be the case. It should be smaller but in a larger number as per the experiment data. How can I get that? Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Absolutely phenomenal work, this tutorial provides step by step basis of approach compared to other videos. Much appreciated.
Thanks a lot. Glad that you found it useful.
This is what i need thanks for the kindness
You are most welcome.

Sometime divergence because of meshing, decreasing the time step size helps.

That's informative & helpful but how did you create that last animation

No of time steps =6000 and time step size =0.0005

How much the iteration until the fluid steady ?
the iteration continued till the complete fill.

What would be the difference if you solved the problem with VOF instead of Eulerian?
yes, you can do it similarly with VOF model.

I have another question. Why did you choose eulerian model and not VOF?
Is this software can b used for seepage analysis of an earthen dam...?
Yes, this software can do all the fluid flow , heat transfer, as well as structural deformation analysis.
