Still my favorite dog out there, all we ever had where old english sheepdog, and they are the most loyal fun friend you can ever have
Truer words have never been spoken 👌
I thank the Lord for my sheepdog! Just got ours yesterday! Trying to make sure i train it right as im the oldest in the family😂
How's it going? ♡
every single TV show, movie, sitcom in the 70's had an English Sheepdog in it. All the time. I have no idea why it was a fad like that. Then all of a sudden they all disappeared and you hardly ever see anyone with an English Sheepdog anymore.
WOW great video and very informative too! And I gotta say, you have such an awesome farm! I envy you...
Thnx so much, appreciate the comment 😊
Thank you for this video. I might be inheriting an OES that I get to walk daily for work. She’s so adorable and playful. I’m falling in love already. 💙💙
That’s great news, best of luck 😁
I got a 6 months old Sheppadoodle, but I see she has old the traits of her father’s OES. She is such of beautiful, intelligent and friendly pup in the world. Everybody loves her. ❤
A million thumbs up! This was such a wholesome video, you’re the best dad ever. Those dogs are living their absolute best life💗
Thnx so much I appreciate the kind words. It’s always a fun time here on the farm. 😊
Great video! Thank you, Molly (Mollie?), and Olive! I envy you your Canada.
Look at Olive and maggie livin their best life!❤ I think you cured my depression l o l
aww nice, yeah those two get along so well...like family.
Getting our first OES in a couple weeks, and I'm so excited. Your videos are very informative. Can't wait for our new baby.
Wonderful! I love hearing people deciding on an OES. You won't regret it I'm sure. Thanks for watching too.
Please never keep it in a cage like horrible modern people do.
Love this video Chad! Olive has grown so much! Molly is so gorgeous and both of them have such a lovely sweet temperament. Our OES girl Sammy was built like Molly except she was 110lbs! Definitely the largest of her litter of 8.
110 lbs is amazing, she must be so solid just like Molly. Actually Molly might even be heavier cause she hasn't been weighed in many months...next vet visit we'll weigh her for an update. Olive's still a lightweight lol.
Oh Olive’s coat is so light and pretty. She’s so happy there.❤❤
It’s very light and flowing, dries very fast too when wet. Molly takes forever to dry 😆 She is very sweet and makes whimpering sounds when I come home cause she missed me so much. Olive is an incredible addition to our farm family.
My parents are on their second rescue OES and I'm planning on taking in one in a few years. I've watched this video so many times to make sure I take good care of my little brother and his future nibling ^^
That’s very cool 😊
Best environment you're providing for these OES - they need so much space and lovely seeing all the species together eith geese and cats too
Thanks, these doggos are enjoying the farm life that's for sure and they're so well behaved around all the animals.
Your dogs are absolutely beautiful. We’re going on 32 years of having Old English Sheepdogs. To us there’s nothing better. They are so loving and lovable. The fluffier, the better. Ours have always thought that they too are human and have taken over our bed. It’s very interesting trying to sleep with two big sheepdogs. Although there are many wonderful breeds of dogs out there (including mixed breeds, mutts if you will), we’ll always have sheepdogs. Best of luck with your beauties 😊.
They look like bearded collies. Have u ever owned a bearded collie?
I have 3 different sheepdogs, 2 German Shepherds and a Border Collie. They definitely think they own the bed 🤣
@@TravellerTinkerBearded collies definitely have a similar look but OES are distinct and bigger.
My 4month Old English Sheep dog “Ozzie” is an energetic handfull and I am glad to hear he will eventually wind down 😅 Thank you for your videos they sure make me appreciate this breed and am excited to see my Ozzie grow 😁 God Bless you, Molly & Olive.
Olive is like Ozzie…gotta burn off their energy before you do any training. At the end of the day on the farm my two girls are TKO all night 😆 4 months is still very young too…lots of training and maturing still to go. Glad you enjoy the videos, let’s me know we’re on the right track.
My oes is about 5 years old now and he's still an energetic ball of fuzz. Have to take him outside for 3 hours and throw the ball around to get him to knock out 😅
What a truly amazing and beautiful video.depicting pure love and joy 🤩. ❤️❤️❤️🔥
You’re so nice 😊
Great video, didn’t know this breed existed until browsing puppies on kijiji, we originally intended on getting a golden retriever or a lab but fell in love with the breed after seeing and learning about them. Pick up our puppy in a month, very excited!
Wow you must be very young and were raised not watching older media because these dogs were so famous in previous generations and featured in so much 20th century media. I really hope you won’t be one of these modern selfish people who puts their dog in a cage. That was NEVER the norm until recently. I’ve never had a cage in my house for my dogs. It’s so cruel, no matter what people say.
wow thats funny! My boyfriend also wanted to get a golden retriever, now im on my way to try to convince him to get an old english sheepdog! xDD
Cant wait to get one someday!

The cage thing is because millennials are extremely ignorant and they value their $3,000 fake leather sofa over a dog. They put their furniture's monetary value over the life of a dog. Millennials are very materialistic and all they care about is money and possessions. I had a Husky and he chewed up tons of my stuff before he became a year old. I lost vacuum cleaners, MP3 players, couches, shoes, school textbooks. All of that is replaceable meaningless objects. @@OakwiseBecoming
My dream is to have an Old English sheepdog with the bluish hue, they're so beautiful!
Do you want one? Not sure though about the color..
I love them already
( … love you kiddo ❤)
They are so beautiful and living such a wonderful life out there!
It's getting a bit cooler too so they love it here even more. Snow will be here before we know it, it'll be fun to watch Molly & Olive having fun in the deep snow.
Thanks for the awesome video! I loved the scene of Molly covered in snow!
Our pleasure. These dogs are so incredible I just love to show them off. lol.
Two beautiful Women (referring to those two dogs). Amazing! August 30, 2023. USA
Aww they are super cute, and most of the things you said about personality 100% applies to mine as well (especially being the clown of the household). Another thing worth mentioning regarding the health with this breed, since they are also deep chested, is watching out for signs of GDV (twisted, bloated stomach). The classic GDV sign is unproductive vomiting or retching. It is life threatening and very rapidly progressive condition, that needs emergency surgery. I was advised by a vet to feed mine from an elevated dish bowl and to not let the dog exercise 45ish minutes before or after feeding, in order to minimize the risk. But unfortunately, this can still happen and be non-feeding related, so it's always good to know the signs and act quickly.
That is all very good info. We use those bowl raisers I made myself out of wood, but I just figured it would be more comfortable for them. Didn't know it actually helped in the prevention of this condition.
Love this channel! We own two sheepadoodles. Huge fan!🎉🎉🎉
You are so kind
Thanks for the great videos, a few weeks ago we welcomed our first OES (best dog breed ever haha, your video's helped a lot with the final decision), almost everything you tell we can already relate. Keep up the good work!
Thanks bud, so glad you got a pup…boy girl? Name?
@@HiddenSpringFarm We have a girl, and listens to the name Meggy 😁
@@Mattyy_94 haha 😍 Meggy will be everything you folks hoped for I’m sure of it. Stay on the discipline though eh, they grow up fast.
@@HiddenSpringFarm haha she already is 😍 yes we will certainly do that!
Beautiful dogs! We are Old English sheepdog owners. Everything is just about spot on except the do shed. We have white hair all over. My daughters black socks stay covered. That’s the only thing about him that’s hard to maintain, other than that he’s great and of course we love him just the same!
German Shepherds are just the same
Groomers tip: If you use less than a drop of mineral oil on your finger, and wipe it on the corner of their eyes a couple times per week, those eye boogies won't stick. They will come right out with a flea comb. That way they don't stick to your fingers lol
Adorable! So enjoyed your telling about the girls. Thanks for sharing. Becky from Kansas City
They make it easy to speak highly of them. Amazing girls we have here. 😊
We have never had dogs , and the last couple years , our neighbour needed help looking after his female dog . So while he’s working we let her outside and do a run , they are extremely fast runners and there are times we have her over to our place .She is a sensitive dog and a nervous dog , A place she has not been before she will just stand there unsure , and if she meets a new person , she will make these noises , she don’t really like to be put in a position of uncertainty. She is very jealous, if you pet another dog she will either push the other dog away or push your hand away . If you have two dog bones she wants them both , no sharing .If I was ever to get a dog , this would be the breed.. So good with children and likes to be close to there owner. When sitting on a Sofa , they will jump up and lean on you and put there head on your lap.
Your place is perfect for these large beauties. Where (generallly do you live)? Retirement is nearing and I want to move out of the texas heat. I have two dogs (one large, one medium). And one of them is part old english sheepdog.
I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING YOU SAID CHAD.... MY VIOLET HAS THE FINE STRAIGHT HAIR I HAVE HER HAIR LONG AND HER FACE CUT CLOSE. WE CANT WAIT TO BUY OUR PROPERTY IN NORTH IDAHO THIS SUMMER
Violet’s gonna love it 😊
Fun fact: originally, the farmers docked the tail to show it was a working dog to keep from paying taxes on the animal.
I absolutely love my OLD ENGLISH SHEEPDOG! The absolute best breed, but not for everyone. If you cannot spend a lot of time with them or don’t have room to let them run, please don’t get one. They are born to work and socialize.
I wonder what taxes they used to pay for owning a pet back then? Farmers still claim a working dog as a business expense today too, but you don’t need a docked tail to prove it 😝 They really do have the urge to work. It makes them feel responsible for something.
I’m a lifelong GSD owner and I would echo everything said here. But I would add: NEVER USE A CAGE. It is so vile, so evil that society has now made putting dogs in tiny cages the norm. I’ve never owned a cage for my dog and never will.
Great video! Very informative! Loved every minute of it! Love from Texas ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
I just love your videos! We have an OES who turns 1 next week. Your videos helped us make the decision to get Clyde.
Awesome, love to hear that. I’m sure Clyde brings joy everyday to your lives eh.
Love your Molly videos! I heard on a video recently that there are only 2,000 OESs in the world! Thank you!
Thnx so much. Sad really there r so few. They were marked as a breed in decline a few years ago by all the kennel clubs but I’m not sure what’s the latest. I do what I can to promote how amazing this breed is on my channel, wish I could be in a position to breed in the future too.
LOL....Grooming is a big deal but I love the breed. A great companion.
Awww I'm getting mine tomorrow she is 4 months old her name is OCEAN
Congratulations, that's amazing news
Brilliant video, thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
❤❤❤
Hi, beautiful, happy dogs.
I am about to take on a rescue, neglected male. He is a year old.
A guy was trying to exchange the dog for a sofa and the lady l am rescuing from had to cut so much matting from him.
He had lived his life on concrete, chained up.
Back legs were matted together and he could not toilet, nor hardly walk it was so bad.
Im hopeful with time, patience and training he will learn how to be a dog.
I have a smaller breed and hopefully she will help mentor him as well.
This dog l am getting he did not have a name up until 3 months ago when this young lady took him from the terrible place he was at.
So far, from videos of him l see utter sadness and limited personality.
Im sure it will take lots of patience and time.
He is a blue eyed, blue Merle. Pretty small too, height wise.
Is 18 months the final growth point?
Have a blessed day.
From what l understand, originally he was stolen from a puppy farm .
Even in the U.K here l can't say l have ever come across an Old English anywhere.
I live on a large property which used to be a farm.
Having had Mastiffs and worked with Great Danes and sight hounds in the past l am accustomed to large breeds.
My other dog is a fearless Jack Russell cross. A rescue from 7 years ago. Similar background ..Now as fearless as can be.
Broken spirits need time for mending. I'm looking forward to picking him up on the weekend.
Blessings
This is a real story. Sad but with a better ending. Yes time for the healing is key, patience too. Who could do such a thing? OES are the most sweet natured dogs I’ve ever experienced. It takes approximately 2 years for an OES to fully reach their width but the height should be final by 18 months. This dog is most likely malnourished so it may end up being smaller than normal. Cutting the mats won’t do it, sounds like a need for shearing plus you’d need to inspect the skin for wounds as that can happen with matting. Best of luck, you’re doing a good thing ❤️
@@HiddenSpringFarmBlessings.
Yes, l feel that despite this boys past each day is a new one to re write that story.
He was shorn down by the lady that took him off the 2nd guy. He had a vet check on him.
I'm collecting him this weekend.
Due the puppy farm and then onto more neglect l can see how he has lost all sense of himself and does not know how to be a dog.
Hopefully my dog Red will bring him out of his shell a bit too.
I'm looking forward to all of the lessons he can teach me..Patience, deep compassion and more.
Thanks so much for taking time out of your day to respond.🙏
May l ask what you feed your dogs?
My Jack is on raw . Bigger dogs tend to have more sensitive stomachs generally.
From time with Great Danes l know about issues with bloat.
Right now this fella is on tin food .
I try to avoid that stuff.

Your dogs are so adorable. I wish I can have them, but they are too large for me. I ma looking for a F1 sheepadoodle
Thnx so much. Sheepadoodles are very popular too and are an amazing mix.
They are so beautiful. I'm thinking about getting a puppy. Would you recommend getting two to keep each other company. I have three pet cats as well, so hope they can get along.
These dogs are so sweet and gentle our get along fine with our 8 cats. Check out my video titles Sheepdog thinks She's the Mother of the barn cats. No need for two as long as they're properly socialized, they are very adaptable dogs that don't shed or drool all plusses in my book. Beware a bit of extra grooming though.
I didnt know about this breed util meeting one at the dog park. Beautiful dogs! How do they do in the heat? I have wirehaired pointing griffon and she loves cold but does fine in the summer heat. She was a puppy puppy during summer but we'd run and she was fine.
Awesome. They do ok in heat. They have a double coat of hair not fur and it helps keep ‘em warm and cool. But they like the cold better, sumner they always go find some cool soil in the shade. Amazing breed.
4:00 omg 😱
Garth Brooks talks about Old English Sheepdogs :)
😉
My thoughts exactly….looks like Garth!👍
Mrs Irene look 👀 old English sheep dog
I'm going to be getting my baby. He or She would be a Service Dog. They would be hearding myself and my family. Lol
I live in SC ! Does anyone know a wonderful and reputable breeder in my area? Thank you!
That's very cool, these dogs are great companions and will do well in service. Hoping you find a good breeder down there.
Our old English sheep dog doesn’t like men except for myself and my son. My brother also brought his dog over and our dog picked it up in its mouth like a toy, scared the crap out the small dog. When I get home from work he runs up to me and whines and grabs my hand with his mouth. He “bites” my hand all the time, not in anger Bigg just to say hi, play, get me to get him food or water, or to tell me I shouldn’t have left him for some long.
Great story, yeah our Molly used to nip as a pup...we were pretty strict with the "NO" and she grew out of it thank goodness. She nudges us all the time to get our attention. Every dog has it's way of communicating too eh...very cool.
Not to judge, but Molly looks a tad overweight? You did say she has gotten lazy. Maybe she needs to lose 5-10 lbs? Are the mini pigs new? I don’t think I’ve seen them in any of your videos. Our OES loves the snow! We recently got offered an OES deaf puppy for free, but had to pass due timing not being good for us right now. Would totally get another in the future though! Love the breed!
She's ok, very solid & strong. While it's true she lays around a lot now since she's getting a tad older she is kept young by Olive's unlimited energy lol. She just had a weigh in at the vet and she was 84 lbs. perfect for a female. She's very fluffy though so she might look thicker on camera but it's a lot or shag. Pigs have been here for a while now, lots of videos on them. Check out the video when the dogs meet the new pig for the first time.
@@HiddenSpringFarm our boy weighs 78 lbs and on his last vet visit (November) she said that he needs to lose like 5 lbs…I was like- Whaaat?! LOL! I’ve been trying to get him to 80 lbs and now she wants him to thin out a bit, ha,ha! Will check out the videos! Thank you!
@@OdditiesOffcial seems like a fine weight for a male to me.
A tad overweight lol. Just get her wet. All the floof disappears
I want to be a dog living on this farm so bad
Haha YES!!! They do love the farmlife
That poor dog getting his tail docked. Plus it's a concern seeing him in a dirty pig pen with his bloodied freshly docked tail. I'd be worried about infection.
not sure what you're talking about, the tails are docked when they are infants and there is no blood. Molly is 3 years old and Olive is 1. Tail docking is the breed standard here in Ontario and the dogs are trained to be around all our animals. Not sure why you would say a freshly bloodied tail, cause you certainly didn't see that in this video.
That was a leaf stuck to its tail not blood.
So upset to see these dogs tails have been docked ! Will not be watching or supporting this channel
