I was just watching the Kingdom Hearts I, and Kingdom Hearts II intro when I came across this. Such an amazing performance. It's been years since I've played the games, but there will always be a piece of my heart that has been touched by not only the games themselves, but the music itself.
They actually made Sora's theme sound... good. I'm so impressed! As much as I love Sora as a character, his theme was my least favourite out of all of the other characters' themes. This truly did the piece justice!
Kingdom Hearts: *has a wast array of interesting and brilliant tracks significant to the story* Composer: You know what song just HAS to be in the medley? That one bonus Christmas track.
I see all these videos of orchestras performing VG music, and I'm asking myself: Have we, at last, arrived at the point where "serious musicians" have realized that VG music has long evolved from its "Tetris" days? Are composers such as Uematsu, Mitsuda, Shimomura, Kikuta, Otani, Hisaishi & co. finally getting recognition and respect which was long overdue? Well, we're getting closer to that at the very least. Arnie Roth (the conductor), thank you so much for promoting VG music.
I would like to ask All These people playing the Songs, that probably never played or seen a kingdom hearts game ever before, what they think of the work Nomura has done.
I´m sure Kingdom Hearts fans are very happy to see this. So beautifully arranged, It´s a wonderful medley :D Kingdom Hearts wouldn´t be the same without Yoko Shimomura... how can she create songs like that? PERFECT! They sure make us travel through other worlds! I love KH!

This is so kick ass that an orchestra like this, which has no connection to the game in many senses, can still connect to it through it's beautiful soundtrack. More and more every day, video games are gaining ground by proving how versatile they are, and how they offer everyone something. :)

It features music from Final Fantasy, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon etc... and! Benyamin Nuss will go on tour with those arrangements! 20 stops all over Germany this September. Just check for his name on Eventim.
I fangirl screamed when they played Roxas's theme. In the game Ventus's is the most beautiful while Roxas's is the saddest sounding but when it's played in an orchestra like this Roxas's is both
Hanna Booklover I'm in the UK, and I bought my ticket last night! They're coming to London in March 24/25th... Cannot wait! It will be my first ever Orchestra too, unless I go the the Symphonic Fantasies concert (Also in London) on October the 6th haha xD

Video game music is like music you hear in a store or in a movie soundtrack, there's no clear separation of it's elements aside from the fact that it is used in a video game. A lot of games use classical instruments, techno, opera, country and even a fusion of these. I get what you're saying, the nostalgia and joy of video games music is something precious to those of us growing up with it. I wouldn't have as much fun in a classical Opera, but then again Opera wasn't a part of my childhood.

Dammit, every time I hear this I cry. Even in the game. EVEN WHEN I PLAYED IT FOR THE FIRST TIME-the game I mean. Created this magical, glimmery, emotional, feeling in my heart. That sounds so cheesy but it's entirely true.
Its in Germany not Japan and of course there would be more older people. It would be pretty expansive traveling with one orchestra to give concerts, when other countries also have talented people

Roxas's theme or The Other Promise made me tear up, Kairi's theme is taken to whole new level of serenity, Sora's theme has an air of confidence, Hand in Hand is just epic, Twinkle Twinkle Holidays, makes me want to welcome the holidays! The music of KH is so inspiring! (also I don't know if anybody noticed but I think Arnie Roth made and arranged the music from those barbie movies made when I was a little girl lol)

Listen to the music he's contributing to! I'd be jumping out of my seat if I were him with the sheer excitement of being part of such a magical project! I completely agree he's way too excited, but I think that should be the only emotion fit for such an experience, aha.
I love Yoko Shimomura's work on KH (and I think it's a shame the music isn't always in full orchestra in game). But this... made my jaw drop to the floor. I so wish I were there. Come playing in France in the future ! Come to Paris ! Seriously, video game concerts are so rare in France (I know we got one Video Game Live concert... but for some lame reason, I couldn't get tickets *sigh*). And this concert was apparently amazing (people even got to meet Uematsu, Shimomura, Mitsuda...).
