I think you brought up a point that I never really considered. Being tired from padding and fighting for boat positions. Being tired or drained will effect your fishing and decision making. Never really thought about it till you said it .
If you hook up on a fish and for some reason you need to change the position of the boat, using the rudder to alter your direction would be much easier than using the remote to do it all. If you can use your feet for direction instead of hand for power AND direction then you'll have more time with both hands on the rod(obviously 2 hands on the rod increases your likelihood of catching the fish).
That clear soft plastic bag that you said in the beginning of the video what size was that in your hand was that the 12 or the 14 . And was it the regular one or the pro thank you
Wow! Thank you! I'm about the size of you, 6'3", so that's awesome see you move around in it. Guess the little bit of water it holds is a feature, live well ;)
Do you leave your battery and the motor in the kayak when transporting? And what are your charging the battery steps?I really like the size and the compactness of the motor of the 10.6 but that one doesn't have spot lock. Please help.
Sold. Any demos for sale? I’m in Canada and our dollar is less, it’s be about 6,000 Canadian. I want one, especially with that spot lock. Game changer🙏
@@AlexRuddFishing I figured. thanks for the response. They restock in Sept as of now, and I'll probably buy one then from a local vendor. It sure looks nice!
I just got an old town autopilot 120 new but every time I pull the cord back to engage the motor into it's housing, it just comes back up. And nowhere online have I found an explanation! No instructions came with it like do I wrap the line around something?? That seems like a cheap way that will just wear out the line quickly. Please, SOMEBODY explain what's up!! lol
Great video, very informative. I’m looking at the 120 or 136 auto pilot, you seem to have plenty of room in the 120 ,9 I’m 6-3 and about 265 do you think I would need the 136? And which battery do you use ?
Hey Alex great video!! I was wondering if you had any idea what the top speed (in ideal conditions) is on your new old town? I’m looking at getting a new kayak with either a bow mounted trolling motor with spot lock or now possibly the old town...
That’s pretty good... I have a ss107 with Torqeedo 403 on it and I can get 4.7 mph on it... I’m looking into getting a longer kayak too for myself and then I would have a high quality “buddy boat” as well... currently torn between a pedal drive or one with a trolling motor with the “spot lock” function... I think the spot lock in a kayak is a true “game changer” for kayak tournaments so I’m leaning that way!! Thanks for the response it’s appreciated keep the great content coming!!
@@AlexRuddFishing awesome question #2 or scenario. Fishing a kayak tourney that doesn't allow electric motors... does it have the option for a pedal drive to be installed or is it only motor or paddle?
@@AlexRuddFishing It is SWEET! Even had a little rough weather in the middle of the day and it handled it like a champ. Spot lock is amazing. Working the shoreline with the rudder foot control is excellent.
Fun vid Alex!! Yep one day I will get me one of those. Much more of an investment with the motor, but I know well worth it for convenience, And the older you get. :-)
That is a sweet water ride and the stability looks ridiculous BUT let's talk about that waterhog you missed. Dang man that looked like a beauty! You will be dreaming about that mama in your sleep or at least that is what happens to me. Good video. Tight Lines and God Bless.
Yeah this time of year it’s usually sperm that the males are depositing onto the eggs. Other times of the year it’s usually a way to secrete a pheromone as a warning mechanism.
Let’s be honest here you can rant and rave about them all y’all want, but if there wasn’t that cup holder for that Diet Dr Pepper at 15:41 it was a deal breaker
Not to question your statement about how stable it is, but your wife is holding the side of it when you are walking around. Of course it will be stable if someone is holding it!!!!
I’ll refer you to me smacking one in the face as hard as I can with that bed fish while standing up. Trust me dude you will fall out long before you flip it.
Check out the UPRVR bags here: bit.ly/2L8Zhuh

I'm waiting on my ole town IPilot sportsman's, can't wait to get out there and fish out of it

The features and technology on these new Old Town kayaks is just awsome! You and Bethany are going to have lots of fun with them on the water!

Man I’m a hard core Oldtown fan. That yak is my dream yak. I can’t wait to get one.

I take the motor out, leave the battery in, and I have a charger I just plug the batteries into when I get home. Just flip up the seat and plug it in.
Great video! Bethany is very cool!

Great video. Thank you for reviewing while fishing.
Old town rocks!!!
🙌🏻
Two words.... GAME CHANGER! 👍👍
Absolutely!
Question for you? Fishing for bass that their main forage is alewives and bluegill any tips?
Also I heard when the seat is in the lower position on the autopilot 120 that you can feel the battery box below you is that true
I’ve never lowered the seat so I don’t know.
@Alex Rudd can you replace the motor on the 106 MK with the Pedal Console? Just in case the tourneys don't allow it?
You can not.
What do you think is going to be the best wheels to transport the 106 MK? Thanks for the video!
Great review. What about grassy areas? I fish Florida and it's tough to avoid the grass/hydrilla
It’s like a normal trolling motor. It’ll get gummed up but all you have to do is turn it around and goose it a few times and it’ll clear off.
@@AlexRuddFishing I figured. thanks for the response. They restock in Sept as of now, and I'll probably buy one then from a local vendor. It sure looks nice!
Soo jealous! Gotta get one like that!
How are these old towns to paddle. When fishing tournament up here, we ain’t allowed the motor.
I lean more toward a peddle drive.
Wow amazing video that kayak looks so kool
Thanks man!

What kind of battery are you using and what is your battery life like? Thanks for the videos, im putting a deposit on one of these soon

I’m 6’4 220 so if that gives you any more perspective on the size. It takes a 27 series deep cycle.
You said in the last video, yours could fit a black box and a Bexley. I think Bethany’s can fit a black box, and a Bobby....
😂😂👊🏻👊🏻 yessss
Those Kayaks are awesome brother!
It is! Love mine as well
I'm sold.. I order mine.. should be here soon
Hope you love it.
I might have missed it but what batteries did you go with and how long you think you get for run time .
27 series deep cycle. I did 7 hours the other day at various speeds and only used 1/4 of my total power.
Dang that's sweet didnt think you could fit a 27 series in there 👊 looked like it would have to be a specialized battery pack .
I had asked you a second question about the fish bag for plastics to clear one
I don’t use those anymore. I know use these www.tacklewarehouse.com/Bass_Mafia_Money_Bag_Plus_/descpage-MBP.html?from=ARF
@@AlexRuddFishing okay thank you Mafia just a better bag
@@AlexRuddFishing I have a terminal tackle box from Mafia that I'm happy with
As someone who is also 6’4 would you also do one in her kayak? So we can see what a bigger person thinks?
I sure can.
Alex Rudd Fishing thanks man I appreciate it
Great video nice kayak
Thanks my dude!

Probably a silly ass question but if the kayak tips is it going to hurt anything on the motor by being under water ?
Nope it’s just like the top of any other minn Kota it’s totally water proof.

chris drury only motor.
Sweet Yaks man. Now I need to cancel my Predator order, and get an Old town. Lol
Maiden voyage in my 136 in the morning!

I still think it is cheating though, lol. I showed Aiden, and he said “what’s the point of that?”
Your hooksets sound so damn violent 😂😂⚒️⚒️
Gotta cross those 👀

For sure!
Does it come with a paddle?
Yes and a life jacket.
Alex Rudd Fishing that’s awesome!!! What size was the life jacket?
Oh yea my dude. Looking forward to this thank you brother again enjoy them toys Stay Safe
Heck yeah dude!
That kayak is sweet I would love to have one like that is there a dealer in East Tennessee
I believe Frontier outdoors sales Old Town.
How is the prob in weeds
Just like a normal trolling motor. It’ll get marred up but you can just reverse it and get it off.
Dance the Jig!!!
I love the kayak! Just for reference what do you weigh not including the beard? ;)
😂😂 220
@@AlexRuddFishing Cool manly weight, same here thanks.
Good stuff brother. 🤜

Conservatively 5+ lbs.

Boy that rage menace was whoopin your butt 😂
Does the pissing have something to do with it being a male or were you just pointing it out ?
Yeah this time of year it’s usually sperm that the males are depositing onto the eggs. Other times of the year it’s usually a way to secrete a pheromone as a warning mechanism.
