They share that ability of being able to create and inhabit a character to the point where they just disappear and you see that character, that person fully formed, even with their very distinct features. I think the lovely person she is in interviews and in Carol is who she is in real life. Cate and Rooney are poetry in motion together. Absolute brilliance. They say it takes a minute to find a special person. An hour to appreciate them, A day to love them....... And an entire life to forget them.❤️
The female gaze in this movie is nearly a character on its own. I came here for the title, but there wasn't any mention of it. 4 years later...still can't get enough of this movie.

The author, Patricia Highsmith, originally titled the book- THE PRICE OF SALT.
They altered a few things in the movie, but definitely a great novel.
