The final shot of Carol looking at Thereze in the movie, when she realizes she still loves her.. one of the most powerful single shots/looks on film. Everyone should see that look in their lifetime. How many people have had to live apart from love because of our cruel and dark social conditioning? Not just homosexuals, everyone.. Unfathomable. Why do we hurt each other so?

Wtf I just keep saying it as I watch this. Cate is amazing - I keep going back to that start of the dancing bit, and just look at her. The way she really watches what the instructors do, and how her feet are so delicately placed on the floor- how she fumbles with her hands as her gaze is still on watching the instructors - how she moves away from that concentration to break into a smile into the usual Cate we see in interviews and fun stuff. Then the next part after the instructor - Todd Haynes start directing Cate and Kyle (Harge), and Cate is just... exquisite? Look at how she stands tall, angled ever so nicely curved, feet still poised on top of the other, eyes still in concentration until she moves back again to a more uh closed off / innocent look and it's just the rehearsal, and still she can show how elegant she is - while we all know how great of an actor she is -and how comedic she is as a person as well. Just amazing.

Film editing made me think that Carol grab the child and just forgot about Belivet. After watching 1:57 I know it was only editing. They got it right during filming.
+Joseph Niepce I actually kind of liked how it was edited out. It brought this vulnerability into the scene. I would describe the whole film as such. That's what love is too, vulnerable.
