Finally i found somebody with the same problems and some solutions! My '99 S70 makes the same noises and it's killing me, I'll definitely try fixing it now!
Nice work, side brackets are genius, thank you
fixing the broken brackets on that speedo cluster will only solve some of the annoying noises. I recently had reason to remove the ENTIRE dash assembly not just the dash cover he removed in this video. I discovered the four broken brackets that come through the firewall from the engine bay. I repaired them all with epoxy and reinstalled everything and the car makes ZERO noises. To do this level of fix you have to remove the wipers and the black plastic cowling below the windshield from the engine bay.
Agreed. This is half a fix at best. But we got to listen to some snappy Muzak.
Thanks , i can now see my problem with my c70 below glove box problem, with the loose panel.👍
Pulling the entire dash is the best way to fix the squeak. I used fiberglass and abs plumbing cement. Not a peep
god thanks i found your video i have same problem in c70 it has same dash so it gives me some idea how to start working on that squeeking noises and see how it looks under the dash
Great Volvo Quality! Glad I now drive a „poor“ Honda. My Volvo rattled so much since new that I had to sell the sxxt out it.
Cool v70 , was wondering why the birds in the background sounded so familiar. Arizona just destroys the plastic in cars lol.
Did the brackets mount to existing holes in the body or did you need to drill those? Also curious on the fastener used to secure the bracket to the dash. Thanks!
Yeah he didn't show you any of that, did he? Great "how-to".
My car is having a issue with the defroster not working. The air blows, but when I use the ECC to switch to the defrost setting, nothing happens... Do you have an idea because you had the dash pad off?
Check your blendoor actuator, could be hung up. I believe you can remove the glove box to access it
Mine used to make noises. I did nothing to fix them. I just got used to blocking the noises out in my head.
What kind of clips did you use? My S70 is driving me nuts. (a short trip) Thanks.

@@twinzspeedshop5931 Awesome. I couldn't tell the size from the video. Thanks.
@@patrickcallaghan8326 no problem!
You need to go find real fixes - which involve removing the dash.
What a waste of time shows us the completed repair and no explanation of how or what he did
Precisely. But hey, you got a few minutes of "music". Look at these places there are now some small screws - if you can even see them. A real fix for this involves much more, which you can find on UA-cam. This fellow had some odd breaks, that appear to have been caused by a previous person breaking pieces. Not the natural degradation the dash attachment points suffer in these cars.
Just leave the Muzak out - it adds NOTHING, and just annoying. Instead, you could have told the viewers about the additional fasteners you were removing. Concept. To fix this correctly, you need to remove the dashboard. Those small "brackets" on the sides can't eliminate movement in between, and there are multiple attachment points.
