I'm so proud to be able to say "I was there". The final 10 minutes of the race from the race, when it went from a certain Toyota victory to a Porsche win, were absolutely unbelievable. Everyone in the grandstand were stunned into silence with disbelief of what was unfolding in front of us. This year's race will forever love be remembered as "The Year Toyota nearly won Le Mans" even if they go on and win it next year.
This video is wildly under viewed for how old it is. What is wrong with the world?! Especially after Ford vs ferrari and other racing movies around Europe, I was in a mood and searched Le Mans and this was the second video to pop up with 74k views. Kidding me
I was watching live when the Toyota burned out 3 minutes until the finish and having to hand over the win to Porsche and ultimately the podium. Such a heartbreak.
Johan Ruz any progress? Go for it man! I’ve made it my life’s goal to race at the 24 h. I will work to fund this dream. First get my regional racing license, then national, start racing MX-5 Miatas or something, and work my ass off. And I’ll tell you, I’m absolutely terrified, of the risks and of what people will think. But that’s what life is all about man, grabbing fear by the balls and conquering it! Hope to race beside you someday!
I would gladly love seeing a long movie from you of the 24 hours of lemans that would really bring out the atmosphere and emotions this race brings so I can show my friends.
Video Meraviglioso Complimenti! Cordiali saluti 😊
Each and every video of yours gives me goosebumps and I'm so glad you're still around making these stunning works of racing artistry but this one hit me deep. Hearing those Radio Le Mans guys shouting in disbelief again when the Toyota broke down took me back to the moment it happened instantly. I wasn't even rooting for Toyota in particular, but for me it was almost as if I was experiencing/witnessing the death of the loved one of a stranger; you can't help but feel sad taken in by the situation, even though you've never met any of them. You could see the hearts and minds of the engineers, mechanics and drivers being broken on the spot on live television. Kinda like a real life Truman Show scenario or something. I've never raced cars myself (I'd love to) but I know from experience how bad it feels to lose this way. I know this seems like bragging but I became Dutch national champion in a certain class in yacht racing, but the year before that me and my mate could have been champion as well but after 2,5 hours of sailing we capsized 100 m from the finish line because of a sudden gust of wind. I felt like shit for days and nearly gave up on the sport entirely, I can't even imagine how these guys must have felt because the stakes are so much higher for them... A year's work completely down the drain.
Endurance is not just the ability to withstand a difficult situation, but also to turn it into glory.

@@handre8969 It was. It happened right in front of me (i was in the tribune, just in front of it) and nobody could believe it.
