The Ottoman sultans were not fat. Most of them were usually in battle and had to maintain a fit and healthy body. When you go to the Topkapi palace in Istanbul, you can see the clothing that they wore and the weapons they used, and you can see instantly that in order to use and carry those weapons you had to be physically very strong
had my first taste of turkish food other day, me and partner love trying traditional foods and must admit, its now one of our favourite cusines, especially the drink Ayran and Albanian liver dish we sampled.
@pindi2009 Turkish food may seem mild, but the combination of ingredients and cooking style really brings out the flavor of Turkish dishes. Also, the food is extremely diverse so you will always find something to like. I think I would like Pakistani and North Indian food because I like strong flavors and spices. I might try making a nice lentil dal as a first experience :)
@Metsada007 Salaam, thanks 4 ur nice comment. If u once need a lentil daal recepie, i can send u a nice one. Just ask ...and i will be happy to help ..:) Best regards and happy cooking ..:)
@lebanesebarbie32 It's nice to hear that you like Turkish food as a Lebanese, thank you. I love and admire Lebanese Hizbullah :) I also know that your food is good and that Lebanon is a beautiful country, like Turkey.
I also think turkish food is better than iranian food. they are very clean. iranian restaurants are not clean. whenever you go to a restaurant, first go to washroom and see. it tells you a lot about the restaurant/
My mother brought me turkish sweets from her turkish holiday and they were disgusting. The weird flavors, the weird gummy consistency were just terrible.
Why can't we be inclusive and open.BTW they have way much more to offer to us then the other way around.I love western culture and tradition and their value system. BTW their foods just don't revolve around burgers and coke. U need a lesson to understand the beauty and brilliance of the NON-muslim world around u.
