The reason speedwagon is so beloved is he is implied to be at the same level or worse off in his upbringing than Dio yet makes a change when he is presented with a positive role model, Dio however sees those positive role models as a challenge to his very self worth.
There's also the fact that by choosing to fight the darkness he was born into instead of spreading it, Speedwagon gets everything Dio wanted, striking it rich, living his life out with peace of mind, and ultimately gaining a form of immortality through the Speedwagon Foundation

I think another important thing to think about is that he also seem a bit insecure about his power. Even when he’s much more powerful than his opponents he seems to take any pushback or little setback as a personal insult and gets enraged. You see this in both part 1 (like when Dire hits him with the flower) and part 3 (as soon as Jotaro starts showing signs of being able to challenge him he becomes obsessive and it starts to cause him to make mistakes in their fight). When he’s in control Dio is smooth and charismatic, but the minute anyone doesn’t fall in line for him it throws him off
Both of Dio's powers are also based around the idea of preventing anyone from being able to fight back against him. His ice power was developed not only to resist Hamon but to instantly kill anyone he touched. And The World is designed to freeze people in time so they have no opportunity to resist.
That’s true, but the exact same can be said for Kira, or most other JoFoes for that matter. I guess what I’m trying to say is that it’s not so much specific to DIO as it is a trope with most JoJo main antagonists.
@@user-xu9km3si8l kinda, kars wasn't insecure and he only lost by the ultimate way to make an unkillable entity be beaten, and while kira very much is a good example of panicking when things aren't perfect that's fitting for a serial killer who never expected anything to ever go wrong. Most of the other villains just underestimate the protagonist and so get the L because they weren't cautious enough.

He was more curious to see what a “mere human” could come up with to fight him although unlike the other pillar men he was solely focused on attaining the ultimate power, even betraying the honor of his comrades after they fell to worthy opponents. But his millennia long lifespan gave him more confidence than DIO easily.
I think my favorite moment from him will always be his utter shock at Jonathan's death. The thing that at that point he had been working towards to the most, the literal mission he set out to achieve and why he's even on that boat, his plan went accordingly but he just could not BELIEVE that Jonathan Joestar had died, even by his own hands. To me, Jonathan and Dio's dynamic will always be the most interesting in the series largely because of this moment, that Dio of all characters in this franchise probably had the most faith and sort of reverence for a JoJo than any other character would. The 2 legends, just really hits.
He was expecting an anime rivalry where his dangerous plans were foiled every now and then by the only man who could match him, but instead found out that people have a tendency to die in such situations.
The funniest thing about it is, Giorno low key even mirrored Dio in the way he drew others to him; N'doul expressly looked to Dio as a Savior for the wicked if I recall correctly. Which makes the point of the irony in his name all the more interesting. He's not just similar to a modern lucifer, he's damn near a god of evil
I always saw him as the most known influence amongst the Joestar family. However I always viewed Kars as the hidden most influential because had he never created the mask, Dio would have never gained those powers and would have gone to jail, thus avoiding most of the Part 2 thru Part 6 events (sans for the Stands).
While I kind of agree, Kars’ influence was a lot less direct than Dio. So while you are right, he only created the Stone Mask and influenced Joseph and that’s about it for his influence.
I have kinda the same mentality with the "Three Dios", however I more or less see him as three fragments of the same man than three different people. All of them have similarities and all of them within the timeline goes by in a chain of changes. P1: Pure evil P6: Charismatic but still evil P3: Abuses charisma and becomes uber evil on top of crazy
Part 3 and part 6 dio have the same ideals, he faced the joestar group as he thought it was willed by fate. He may have killed a bunch of random people while fighting, but he merely didn’t care about them, and saw them in his way, which is quite a bit different from pure evil
@@cengix8850 Honestly, even though Dio really did seem to show genuine sympathy, care and even love for his mother, the Nature Vs Nurture argument just doesn't work, as Dio has done some serious F-ed Up things that just make one hate him and truly believe he's born Evil! Furthermore, he also shows no genuine signs guilt, regret and/remorse for his actions, in fact he actually takes pride and joy in them, thus further adding to the fact that he may and actually is in all likelihood, Pure Evil! Because, let's face it, our beliefs and the choices we make ultimately, show who we are.
Funny enough, I think his own son, Giorno, paints a beautiful contrast to Dio himself. Both grew up in similar circumstances, but Giorno turns out to be one of the goodest boys despite being the genetic product of Dio. He had his own good-hearted nature like a true Joestar, even though he kept the Brando's ruthlesness against those who deserved it.
I think the main reason is because Dio had very bad enablers to push him to fend for himself and be worse. While Giorno, he didn't always have to fend for himself, thanks to that Mafia boss he saved.
3:48 I don't actually think it was entirely fair using a snippet of a Kars scene as a highlight of antagonists treating other creatures as beneath them. Granted, he absolutely did treat humans as beneath him, with that scene serving as an example. But we're given little scenes that indicate he might not feel the same way about non-human life. At least, prior to becoming the ultimate lifeform. He saves a dog's life, which is to my knowledge not only a first but a last for Jojo villains, and he went out of his way to avoid landing on the patch of flowers at the bottom of the ravine as he fell down there. It can be asserted that he actually held quite a bit of fondness for non-human life. As for that squirrel scene, it's important to note it occurred after he became the ultimate lifeform. I'm of the opinion it was because he no longer viewed life as precious, not only being immortal himself but also capable of generating living organisms from his body at apparently no limit.
Pillar men were physically superior to Humans in every way. The plants/animals meanwhile had things that they surpassed him in, so he respected them. Once he becomes Ultimate Kars, that no longer applies.
He doesn't have a "fondness" for non-human life, he simply just respects the dog and flower for having qualities superior to him, so as a darwinist he couldn't bring himself to harm them. The squirrel scene was meant to show how now he no longer had that respect, surpassing flowers, dogs and all creatures of earth.
IMO the issue with your nature vs nurture argument, as pertaining to Dio being born evil, is the fact that everything you use as an example of him being a natural-born villain comes after he already received the negative nurture. Dio undoubtedly has anti-social personality disorder, but “fate” in JoJo doesn’t mean that Dio was born evil, just that he was fated to undergo traumatic experiences that would render him such.
I guess the reason I still see Dio as being evil from the get go is that he never questions his evil He never thinks about whether or not to hurt Johnathan he just does it or if killing a puppy is fine he goes all in immediately no guilt no conflict nothing. People who are made to be evil choose to be evil or just don’t understand good but Dio understands good enough to use it against people Dio is just Dio always has been
Another comment mentions the use of Speedwagon here, having gone through a similar life up to that point but still actually taking the opportunity to change when it presents itself, as opposed to Dio who had 7 years to make the choice Speedwagon made in a few minutes but very clearly and actively opted not to, if the thought ever crossed his mind.
I appreciate this video, METAs. I gained a lot of respect for DIO’s character after finishing all of Jojo (in before Part 9) and how he grew throughout the first 6 parts (mostly 1, 3, 5 and 6 respectively). This video helped to solidify my thoughts toward his character. Thanks.
Dio's evolution is also an evolution of araki's writing. One thing unique to jojo and why it gets better is the way araki reuses but innoovates ideas in later parts. the SBR universe for example.
Its so interesting to see an almost mythological being like dio in the franchise as a human its like dracula when he was vlad III or Lucifer before becoming a fallen angel (close enough comparison),Of course araki doesn't go much about the nature of humanity and becoming a monster but still it fascinates me.
Enya acquired the Stand Arrow (which I've capitalised to differentiate it from stand arrows and the Requiem Arrow) before she met Dio. She only had so much faith in Dio because he had technically already completed "The Fool's Journey" by overcoming death (becoming a vampire) and attaining The World (His willpower then became the stand The World by use of the stand arrow from Enya.)
DIO is my favourite JoJo villain by far, besides being fun to watch. He is ruthless and plays his hand the best way possible, excluding some moments of ego making the best of him. His evolution thought-out the series it's fascinating and you almost can't blame people for following him in Part 3, he had that diabolic charm that made Giorno Giovanna, the one and only. Can't wait to watch the 3rd batch of Stone Ocean and finish his journey.
Yea the manga has been around since the 80s and has influenced hundreds of other works, especially with villains like Dio No fucking shit he’s a “timeless” character

Basically the main character in Jojo is Dio Parts 1-2 Dio's/Stone mask origins. Parts 3-4 Dio's curse(Stands in joestars, Holly and Josukes fevers, the golden arrows, flesh bud mutations). Parts 5-6 Dio's Legacy(with Giornio and Pucci). Part 7 Jojo if Dio(Diego) wasn't center stage. Part 8 Jojo without a Dio? Part 9 Jojo (either posessed by heaven dio, is Diego's kid somehow, or damned to become a Dio like character, or all the above) as a cool concept?

Great fucking video, Although I think people separate Dio by parts because of how much he changes his demeanor. Dio does seem more refined and mature in Part 3. I always view P1 Dio as a bit immature, which he is given his age. More cocky and mischievous and I feel this is evident in his P1 theme too when comparing to the more intense and dark P3 theme. P3 Dio is more mature, experienced, calculating. It's also so amusing to see him show off his power in P3, like he's so proud of it.
Actually you cannot manipulate fate. This was a byproduct of the universe reset. Everyone had already seen everything in their lives, so they already knew their fate and could not change it, while this wasn't the case for Pucci, and thus he was the only one who could change the fate, based on his actions of course. He wasn't able of a true fate manipulation
I'm still not certain why Dio technically has two stands, both the world and that weird Hermit Purple look-alike. It kind of implies that Johnathon's soul is still in his body, just suppressed, but at the same time a Hermit Purple stand doesn't really make sense for Johnathon as a character.
I hardly doubt it, Jonathan was long dead after dio got his body and again in part 6 dio is reincarnated into green baby which merges with ws to create c moon so dio is a stand in part 6 or something idk it's fucking confusing

i had a conversation with a friend, saying that Homelander is better. i tried to argue that Dio changed as a character post part 1, but he said "a small change doesn't make a character nuanced." maybe i should have gone further, by saying the POSSIBLE implications of how he changed, like he adapts well to "modern" times, dresses in ways that are provocative. maybe to attract more followers and that he feels more comfortable in Jojo's skin than his own, that was polluted by the blood of his father (unless Araki just wanted to draw weird outfits, lol). about how he respects humanity enough to get human followers instead of just zombies. and how he's the most important character in the series. But he and his friend didn't buy it and said Dio is a paper thin character. so i finished the conversation. it was stressing and annoying, so i thank you META. seeing something like this warms my heart. i am honestly thankful. thank you a lot.
I always liked to think that part 6 DIO is a showcase of how utterly and completely he believed he would win. His plan in part 6 was basically: “Man if only the Joestars knew how useless it’ll be to stop me, cause if I don’t take over the world with this stand here (and how could I not), someone will.” Or at least that’s how I see it, and honestly in Part 5 and 6 he was almost right.
I respect DIOs characters But the main reason I think people talk about him in 3 different versions of himself is that hes matured and learned from his mistakes every time. Like part 1 Dio's character development was just amazing Part 3 he got even stronger but underestimated the joestars and got cocky Part 6 he's chilled out yk hes not STARVING for power Theres a lot of differences between each part so its like 3 different people but I get it he has grown as a character
i see Dio as 2 characters respectively, Part 1 Dio embodies the evil nature and the beginnings of a man who will forever lead a life of evil within his line of life and actions he takes along with people he meets, he's cruel for the sake of being evil. DIO on the other hand is the evolution of that said evil but twisted within the way that he's evil yet within the difference sense that he sees benefits within humanity that he wants to provide yet in one of the most sickest ways possible which is forcing everyone to live out their own future knowing what will happen. But as a whole, Dio/DIO is my favorite character out of jojo for the sole fact that he is the driving force for everything, he put everything into motion, he is the endgame of the original universe and his influence is carried on into the SBRverse. It's his ideas of "Heaven" that draw me into his character that make me wonder "What if this was an actual reality we could possibly live in? What if we were to actually die the way fate tells us to? Is this the path we need for us to teach us a lesson on our own sin?" It's that alone that makes it so intriguing to form ideas upon his thoughts and what he truly wanted for the world in question, but that's just me.
This is a good rundown of dio, but i have one thing aginst a point Stands being able to damage the user is definitely a thing. Part 4 does it more with cheap trick and okuyasu being a dumbass. Most people dont go out of their way to target themselves, but it can happen if someones not careful
Not disagreeing or anything but Cheap Trick is sort of unique in that being its whole shtick. A similar case might be Notorious B.I.G. relying on the user's death. Fugo's Purple Haze seems a pretty obvious example, though you could claim that that's the virus and not the stand itself. *Part 6, potential spoilers:* _Jolyne can damage herself by unraveling with her string past a certain threshold (~70%). If Ermes uses Kiss' sticker to duplicate part of her body, causing damage to herself when the sticker is removed and the two merge. Though more a by-product of the ability, Jumpin' Jack Flash's resulting vacuum is also dangerous to the user._
I think its not "Stand can't damage their user" But "The stand actively avoid damaging the user" Okuyasu is prime example of hurting himself with his stand with his battle against Josuke, now Jolyne stand limit is something i can't explain since i need to rewatch Stone Ocean again, but if Stand has like some Area ability or some sort the User can be caught in the blast radius sort of thing
I just saw the finale of lost, while the ending is awesome I am upset that they didn’t bring back Micheal; I mean it makes me very upset because his line of “8 years of construction” was a running inside joke between my father and I, so seeing that Micheal wasn’t there for the final makes no sense and kind of ruins the ending. Would not recommend lost to anyone
I find it funny how a majority of part 3 part of DIO analysis is, “he is really cool”. But I think there should be more said about part 3 DIO is when Hol Horse oppose him. He isn’t mad instead he respect the fact that despite his fear; he still aimed his gun at him. Even if he didn’t pull the trigger, DIO still respect him. I think is misunderstood that DIO only care about himself rather he cares and like people who take charge of their own destiny like Hol Horse. People who chose to control their life no matter how strong the opposition is. I think the anime addition push the narrative he only care about himself as his note to Pucci is “You need a good friend” rather than I need a good friend. So he give Pucci the idea that the choice is his to help him.
I was one of the only people to actually view dio as a character hes probably my favorite character purely just off of everything hes ever done and the purpose that he serves. Also hes probably one of the only characters to come back the longer than jotaro
One thing I also liked about DIO is that he is just a fucking menace. He just hated someone and boom. He became one of the strongest stand if not the strongest stand user that isn't on the leagues of GER, MiH and etc.
I feel like if he new about the more advanced version of the stone mask he'd have entered his Kars arc trying to actually become the ultimate life form to "be at the top where he belongs" before then ascending pass that to being the god he believes he's meant to be.
Dio always had that personality of wanting to manipulate and have everyone under his feet, but after being 100 YEARS UNDER THE SEA, (which would make anyone think and change you a little), he changed his way of controlling others ( besides being philosophical), like in part 3 and he started thinking about human ideas and philosophical things, I mean, I really believe, and I understand it, that he had a master plan and was manipulating someone to follow that goal What I don't like is that the plan of heaven, as such, came out of nowhere, (I mean, I don't see how a character rewrite gave part 1, part 3 or 6, but after the sea, he learned how to control people more, and actually, he was always interested in experimenting, both his abilities and things, like with the homoculus in part 1, and well, that nature of wanting to experiment, and having an experience like being under the sea It was obvious that he would come out thinking, he was also always someone educated, in Phantom blood he was a lawyer, but with the idea of having power, and it really shows in part 1, then, throughout part 3, DIO was always shown to us reading philosophizing, people only remember the end where he goes crazy with jotaro, because what use would it be for DIO to talk to him about his ideas, he even tried to do it with polnareff, although only to impose fear) the real problem is that the idea of heaven came out of nowhere, I mean, I buy that he has a philosophical master plan in some way, what I don't like is that the plan came out because yes, there is no indication that he has that plan exactly, at least they should have make a mention or allusion to the plan in part 3, but no, nor is it explained where all that came from, I mean, how did DIO know that doing this and that and then going to a specific place will give you this? At least they should have said that dio dreamed it or something like that
So you are saying he is like Koichi's stand. Three stages that get progressively closer to a final form, starting with something immature, and eventually grasping the full gravity of his existence and determination to accomplish his goal.

I watched this JUST to learn about Dio-Oh, and was upset when he wasn’t mentioned. Looked him up online and found out he’s not technically canon, he’s the main antagonist of a JoJo’s video game. In an alternate universe Dio killed the Stardust crusaders and achieved Heaven with Pucci, granting him Godhood. Long story short, F. Valentine ends up in his dimension trying to stop spinning and Dio becomes aware of the “Main” timeline then basically launches a full scale assault. Hilariously enough he ends up losing with his ultimate stand: The World Over Heaven because he inadvertently creates Jotaro’s ultimate stand, Star Platinum Over Heaven in the process. So if you were curious, hope my comment helped :) It really ties together the idea that these characters can’t escape their fate. Dio was destined to lose to the Joestars. Even when he won, he lost.
I think the reason people see Dio as three different Dios between the parts is because we don't witness the character development it kinda just happens.
Kinda wish they could have had him brought back in an arc, but end up having amnesia and ends up regretting the actions he did in his past after regaining his memories. After a bigger bad manipulates him.

I think the main reason is because Dio had very bad enablers to push him to fend for himself and be worse. While Giorno, he didn't always have to fend for himself, thanks to that Mafia boss he saved.
3:48 I don't actually think it was entirely fair using a snippet of a Kars scene as a highlight of antagonists treating other creatures as beneath them. Granted, he absolutely did treat humans as beneath him, with that scene serving as an example. But we're given little scenes that indicate he might not feel the same way about non-human life. At least, prior to becoming the ultimate lifeform. He saves a dog's life, which is to my knowledge not only a first but a last for Jojo villains, and he went out of his way to avoid landing on the patch of flowers at the bottom of the ravine as he fell down there. It can be asserted that he actually held quite a bit of fondness for non-human life.
As for that squirrel scene, it's important to note it occurred after he became the ultimate lifeform. I'm of the opinion it was because he no longer viewed life as precious, not only being immortal himself but also capable of generating living organisms from his body at apparently no limit.
I mean, humanity did perceive the Pillar Men as demons, gods etc so thinking yourself to be superior makes sense I suppose.
Pillar men were physically superior to Humans in every way. The plants/animals meanwhile had things that they surpassed him in, so he respected them. Once he becomes Ultimate Kars, that no longer applies.
Yeah, i feel this is an always understated aspect of Kars by readers/viewers.
He doesn't have a "fondness" for non-human life, he simply just respects the dog and flower for having qualities superior to him, so as a darwinist he couldn't bring himself to harm them. The squirrel scene was meant to show how now he no longer had that respect, surpassing flowers, dogs and all creatures of earth.
IMO the issue with your nature vs nurture argument, as pertaining to Dio being born evil, is the fact that everything you use as an example of him being a natural-born villain comes after he already received the negative nurture.
Dio undoubtedly has anti-social personality disorder, but “fate” in JoJo doesn’t mean that Dio was born evil, just that he was fated to undergo traumatic experiences that would render him such.
I guess the reason I still see Dio as being evil from the get go is that he never questions his evil
He never thinks about whether or not to hurt Johnathan he just does it or if killing a puppy is fine he goes all in immediately no guilt no conflict nothing. People who are made to be evil choose to be evil or just don’t understand good but Dio understands good enough to use it against people Dio is just Dio always has been
Another comment mentions the use of Speedwagon here, having gone through a similar life up to that point but still actually taking the opportunity to change when it presents itself, as opposed to Dio who had 7 years to make the choice Speedwagon made in a few minutes but very clearly and actively opted not to, if the thought ever crossed his mind.

Dio's evolution is also an evolution of araki's writing. One thing unique to jojo and why it gets better is the way araki reuses but innoovates ideas in later parts. the SBR universe for example.
Its so interesting to see an almost mythological being like dio in the franchise as a human its like dracula when he was vlad III or Lucifer before becoming a fallen angel (close enough comparison),Of course araki doesn't go much about the nature of humanity and becoming a monster but still it fascinates me.
Enya acquired the Stand Arrow (which I've capitalised to differentiate it from stand arrows and the Requiem Arrow) before she met Dio. She only had so much faith in Dio because he had technically already completed "The Fool's Journey" by overcoming death (becoming a vampire) and attaining The World (His willpower then became the stand The World by use of the stand arrow from Enya.)

DIO is my favourite JoJo villain by far, besides being fun to watch. He is ruthless and plays his hand the best way possible, excluding some moments of ego making the best of him. His evolution thought-out the series it's fascinating and you almost can't blame people for following him in Part 3, he had that diabolic charm that made Giorno Giovanna, the one and only. Can't wait to watch the 3rd batch of Stone Ocean and finish his journey.

Great fucking video, Although I think people separate Dio by parts because of how much he changes his demeanor. Dio does seem more refined and mature in Part 3. I always view P1 Dio as a bit immature, which he is given his age. More cocky and mischievous and I feel this is evident in his P1 theme too when comparing to the more intense and dark P3 theme. P3 Dio is more mature, experienced, calculating. It's also so amusing to see him show off his power in P3, like he's so proud of it.
Actually you cannot manipulate fate. This was a byproduct of the universe reset. Everyone had already seen everything in their lives, so they already knew their fate and could not change it, while this wasn't the case for Pucci, and thus he was the only one who could change the fate, based on his actions of course. He wasn't able of a true fate manipulation

I'm still not certain why Dio technically has two stands, both the world and that weird Hermit Purple look-alike. It kind of implies that Johnathon's soul is still in his body, just suppressed, but at the same time a Hermit Purple stand doesn't really make sense for Johnathon as a character.

i had a conversation with a friend, saying that Homelander is better. i tried to argue that Dio changed as a character post part 1, but he said "a small change doesn't make a character nuanced." maybe i should have gone further, by saying the POSSIBLE implications of how he changed, like he adapts well to "modern" times, dresses in ways that are provocative. maybe to attract more followers and that he feels more comfortable in Jojo's skin than his own, that was polluted by the blood of his father (unless Araki just wanted to draw weird outfits, lol). about how he respects humanity enough to get human followers instead of just zombies. and how he's the most important character in the series. But he and his friend didn't buy it and said Dio is a paper thin character. so i finished the conversation. it was stressing and annoying, so i thank you META. seeing something like this warms my heart. i am honestly thankful. thank you a lot.

I always liked to think that part 6 DIO is a showcase of how utterly and completely he believed he would win. His plan in part 6 was basically: “Man if only the Joestars knew how useless it’ll be to stop me, cause if I don’t take over the world with this stand here (and how could I not), someone will.” Or at least that’s how I see it, and honestly in Part 5 and 6 he was almost right.

i see Dio as 2 characters respectively, Part 1 Dio embodies the evil nature and the beginnings of a man who will forever lead a life of evil within his line of life and actions he takes along with people he meets, he's cruel for the sake of being evil. DIO on the other hand is the evolution of that said evil but twisted within the way that he's evil yet within the difference sense that he sees benefits within humanity that he wants to provide yet in one of the most sickest ways possible which is forcing everyone to live out their own future knowing what will happen. But as a whole, Dio/DIO is my favorite character out of jojo for the sole fact that he is the driving force for everything, he put everything into motion, he is the endgame of the original universe and his influence is carried on into the SBRverse. It's his ideas of "Heaven" that draw me into his character that make me wonder "What if this was an actual reality we could possibly live in? What if we were to actually die the way fate tells us to? Is this the path we need for us to teach us a lesson on our own sin?" It's that alone that makes it so intriguing to form ideas upon his thoughts and what he truly wanted for the world in question, but that's just me.

Stands being able to damage the user is definitely a thing. Part 4 does it more with cheap trick and okuyasu being a dumbass. Most people dont go out of their way to target themselves, but it can happen if someones not careful
Not disagreeing or anything but Cheap Trick is sort of unique in that being its whole shtick. A similar case might be Notorious B.I.G. relying on the user's death.
Fugo's Purple Haze seems a pretty obvious example, though you could claim that that's the virus and not the stand itself.

I find it funny how a majority of part 3 part of DIO analysis is, “he is really cool”. But I think there should be more said about part 3 DIO is when Hol Horse oppose him. He isn’t mad instead he respect the fact that despite his fear; he still aimed his gun at him. Even if he didn’t pull the trigger, DIO still respect him. I think is misunderstood that DIO only care about himself rather he cares and like people who take charge of their own destiny like Hol Horse. I watched this JUST to learn about Dio-Oh, and was upset when he wasn’t mentioned. Looked him up online and found out he’s not technically canon, he’s the main antagonist of a JoJo’s video game. In an alternate universe Dio killed the Stardust crusaders and achieved Heaven with Pucci, granting him Godhood. Long story short, F. Valentine ends up in his dimension trying to stop spinning and Dio becomes aware of the “Main” timeline then basically launches a full scale assault. Hilariously enough he ends up losing with his ultimate stand: The World Over Heaven because he inadvertently creates Jotaro’s ultimate stand, Star Platinum Over Heaven in the process. So if you were curious, hope my comment helped :)
It really ties together the idea that these characters can’t escape their fate. Dio was destined to lose to the Joestars. Even when he won, he lost.
