Anatomy of tennis elbow

- Last week we talked about the anatomy of golfer's elbow and some of the muscles of the anterior compartment of the forearm, so here's the companion: the anatomy of tennis elbow and some of the muscles of the posterior compartment of the forearm.
In tennis elbow or lateral epicondylitis there is pain around the lateral epicondyle of the humerus. We need to consider the bony bits, the tendons and muscles involved, the movements of the wrist and hand, and tie it all together somehow.

Thank you for passing on your knowledge in a manner that it is easy to comprehend and absorb. The students you teach face-to-face are so lucky..
Sergio Santaniello yes indeed, he’s quite great 👌
"Quite difficult to get to grips with" Ha ha - see what you did there :) I'm a Thai massage practitioner and I'm always explaining to my clients when they complain about elbow pain that it's not what you do with your elbow that's the problem. Thank you for making this so clear.
I certainly would never ignore medical knowledge from THE Dr. Gregory House!
Very dedicated teacher...students can learn very easily
You are an amazing ‘teacher’. thank you so much.🙏🏻
0 dislikes. What we all love to see
Thank you sir for teaching med students. Best regards from Brazil!
This is an instantly engaging lesson since the parts being explained are right in front of us and I’m mirroring the teacher’s movements to see and feel exactly what he’s talking about! Thanks for the clear and interesting explanation!
From Egypt, Thank you very much.
You are so great in teaching these...😇
I passed my anatomy lessons with A grades but I missed u :D so come back again for enjoy! ❤️🙏🏽 Love u Sam! U are my best lovely teacher! 😃
Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Beautifully explained! Thanks :)
I know this is mostly for med students but your vids are invaluable for me as an artist wanting to improve anatomy.
As a non-English speaker... no matter how much I study it's always difficult to remember how "invaluable" somehow is synonymous with "valuable"
Thank you so much for another amazing video. It is so helpful that you explain and demonstrate everything so clearly, and the repetition really helps as well, as for some of us this is new information and we need repetition to retain the knowledge. :)
I could see every single muscle pop up! This video is fantastic!
Hi Sam, you are still awesome! Thank you! I wish you were my anatomy teacher
Thanks for the overview, that cleared things up in my head. Especially on the muscle side.
Since Covid-19 I see lot more patience (I'm a PT) with these symptoms, thanks to working from home and lack of movement...
Very Clear. Looking foward more content your a great calm precise clear teacher
Brilliant!! Carrying buckets of rocks from the garden and pails of water to the chickens in foggy Newfoundland. No time for tennis or golf!!! Thanks for the great explanation ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
So House MD is not just MD in series but also in real life
Very nice. Thank you.
Thank you
Thank you so much!
you. are. great!
I'll pass my exams because of you.
Thanks.
Love from India.❤️
I've had tennis elbow in the past, and it can really be quite annoying. However, since incorporating lots of forearm extensor exercises (usually with kettlebells from around 5kg - 12kg), I've never had any elbow issues since. These extensor exercises are just part of my full forearm workout (as an arm wrestler), involving the wrist /finger flexors, pronation, supination, radial deviation, and ulna deviation.. Not many people do extensor workouts, but I can certainly vouch for their validity. 💪😁👍
North West Music Live Such a workout sounds very practical for strength & preventing injuries. There are so many household/yard work activities that cause damage to people’s hands/wrists/shoulders and everything connected. Not everyone considers strengthening this area.
Thank you Sam. I've been having a lot of pain lifting 'up' with my hand, say, a cup from a microwave high up, very painful in on the top of my forearm. Looking like it's tennis elbow.
Sağol Sam abiiiiiiii! 🙏🏾❤️
brilliant
I love your videos. I was wondering if you can explain muscles and what happens when you are given an IM injection. How does the contents of the syringe go from the fibers into the blood stream? Does it work in a reverse process to ions going via the sarcoplasmic reticiculum, z lines etc
So if I inject anti-sickness meds into my quads what is its journey to my vomit centre to stop me being sick?
Thanks man!
I have sometimes a bit of disorganised bones in elbow and arm I feel in the joint when boxing, but creating a pump in bicep makes the pull more natural join the joint together and distribute the power and weight better and so I get no pain having pumped arm first. I gotta try pumping tricep allso to see if that will better the effect and even the entire arm should be pumped to see that too.
What do you think about that to eliminate elbowproblems maybe for other activities or even plain office work too?
Could you talo more about climbing muscles. Uper back, fingers, bíceps, isquiotibiles, feet
Thank you for explaining and not assuming your audience can handle some very basic principles of anatomy
Can you made a video on upper limb
Please sir you are start full physiology lecture your explanation is best
I have paint from climbing across the top of my forearm, but seems to run up the arm but stops well before the elbow. Its worse when I hang and pull on sloper type holds, any ideas what might be damaged? I've had it on both arms, get better from in activity of course but rears up when I try hard on climbs outside my ability.
You should do a video on the muscles of climbing.
Do you have a video about how to rid of it? I have it and it’s so painful and frustrating! Definitely overuse.
uhmm, Dr Webster, which University do you teach in?
You’re getting old man 👴
Thank you
