I've always been a bit glass half empty on him. 1) Big who doesn't play good D. 2) Wants to be a #1 but doesn't quite have that skill and has always struggled with efficiency and fluid playmaking. If he stays his current path it will lead to a Carmelo/Randle outcome. Very productive star, but the wins won't follow as he caps his team with average shooting and ball stopping. His best path is to be a #2 and a finisher, but he's never accepted this type of role (though he did it as a rook) and his game hasn't changed since he was 16. Ironically, I think he needs to be more afraid to shoot the basketball, especially the long 2's he loves way too much
You’re quickly becoming someone and something great. Keep this up so I can say to my friends that I was here during the early years 😂 I want them bragging rights!
One of my favorite players. I hope he's a gym junkie and stays away from the party life. If he does he'll be an all timer. I also think he's pretty clutch.
Paolo had a random fluke shooting slump from 3 in February. He shot like 3% while dealing with a shoulder injury for that whole month. That brings down his percentages quite a bit and was a huge outlier compared to the rest of his season.
Even without that month he would be at 45% from the field and 33% from 3 which is good for a rookie but not amazing and that isn’t what happened most importantly
@@bkelly625 It’s still substantial and having that kind of a slump is nearly impossible to ever happen again. Didn’t say he’s a great shooter right now. Just that month did affect his overall shooting percentage and for a rookie was a pretty decent shooter.
Comparing Paolo’s numbers to 2000s and early 2010s players is misleading. League average ppg was 94 in 03-04’ and league average true shooting 51.7% last season it was 114.7ppg and 58.1% it was has continually gone up in recent years and also Paolo came in the league at 6’10+ 250lbs he shouldn’t be have been that inefficient just saying

I think he’ll win a mvp and could lead the nba in scoring
