- This is the first installment of a series on setting up a planted aquarium. In this video, we will go over the materials used in the substrate to provide minerals & nutrients to your plants.
*All methods and ideas discussed in this video are based on what has worked for me locally with my municipal water supply and my particular aquarium set ups. This might not work for your aquarium set up in your area with your local water supply. I take no responsibility for any of the ideas that might be used from this video that don't work out to your expectations. - Домашні улюбленці та дикі тварини
Stage one. Joy of starting something new!...Stage two. Started and then the adding of fauna and flora. Stage three, after some time all has been added and its just wait to mature. Stage4. Its now what it is and all you now do is feed the fish and prune the plants. Stage 5. Its now never changing and gets boring to put in so much time to see the same thing year after year. Stage6. ..Tear down!
Back to stage one.
Looking forward to seeing the finished product
Step by step... Inch by Inch..

I hope that some of the stuff I put in my videos is useful to someone.. Thanks for tuning in!
Great video looking forward to the next one😉
Hi Paul its john. Well its mainly thanks to you that ive made the leap back into fish keeping ! I love watching your videos. I am hoping to copy your substrate ideas , if you dont mind ? Can you suggest an alternative to safe t sorb as i cant seem to buy it in the uk ! Much thanks john .
Paul, will the Safe T Absorbent prevent the worm casting from rising through the flora max or is it specifically for nutrient control? I was so impressed by your layered substrate approach that I may duplicate it in my 20XH tank.
Yes and Yes... I have seen other hobbyist use just Safe T Sorb as a substrate and seed it with liquid Fertz... Thanks for tuning in..
Pauls Planted Aquariums Well Thanks to you I've got a new method to experiment with. I'm so looking forward to your next upload(s).
