Yes. Always have to remember "supply and demand." The video market functions like any other market. Find a demand that fits what you already make and produce to that sector of the market. Love you Celine ❤
Totally agree with this! I’ve had my channel for so long now and i definitely get caught in the loop of chasing numbers sometimes. Now it’s awesome to look back on it as an opportunity that has introduced me to awesome people and a memory log of myself through the years 💓
100% agree with what you shared and literally speaking what I've been thinking for a hot second now - when you really know simple Tech and that, in theory, a specific video can be blown up if desired (by the platform), the truth basically is that we cannot control results+timing but can have results both in the short and long term, hence brings to me the conclusion of, 'just keep going/creating' I.e., combining the Why + some/your form of consistency in the long term, can only garner results Great video Celine! 😊
love this attitude and "just keep going/creating" is a great way to look at it 👏 there's so much we can't control on the platform! thanks for watching and sharing your insights 💓
I totally agree with you Celine. I feel like when you don’t get what you expect it’s like the world is going to end. Being humble with yourself is the best thing to do. The numbers don’t determine anything. When people don’t get what they want it could de frustrating. But the important thing is to not let that be a factor and be in the present. Your videos are very informative I love it
Omg I totally get caught in the loop of refreshing UA-cam studio and getting too focused on the numbers 🥴 definitely something I’m trying to care about less and just focus on the joyful parts of creating content! Awesome video, thank you for sharing!! 😊
I think that keep making videos that make u happy and fulfilled and learn how to detach that happiness from the numbers “view/likes” aspect of that video. If you scroll through UA-cam you see people making videos on the same exact topic and using the same exact words, it’s so crazy. Like creators forgot to be individuals & authentic but the reason I think they do this is because the videos they are viewing on YT it shows do well, so they use the same formula to get a “viewable” video & authenticity goes out the window. Sadly what we think might be a great & creative video might not do well number wise & we have to be ok with that
It's good to have you back, I hope you had a good week and I'm very glad to see you. Do what makes you happy and Do what you love. You're an inspiration to us all, Well done. Have a wonderful weekend!. 🙂👍
Thanks for making this video! I’ve been so discouraged with my channel because I’ve been chasing numbers ever since my channel got a bump in views. That has since dwindled dramatically and I find myself more worried about the lack of growth vs just doing this for the passion and fun of it all. So I gotta find that balance 🙏🏼. That and get off UA-cam studio lol.
Another awesome video Celine and love 🥰 it. Yes when creating content and it's struggling to get views & subscribers it can seem to be unfilling but we just need to not give up and hopefully the views and subscribers will come. Have a lovely week ahead Celine and love ❤ you.
lil celine is so adorable i can't 🥹🤎 also everything you said in this video is straight facts girl. and i loved the point that you made about how analytics focus primarily on quantity instead of quality. so even when you are trying not to focus on the numbers, youtube is giving you all these signals that make it really hard okay skillshare sponsorship 👏
Hey Celine! You really had it together at 10. You saw the future. I loved how you used the clips of your 10 year old self as the intro and outro. If that young girl only knew the accomplished and kind woman she will become in 17 years. I started my You Tube account in 2006. Back then it was a new emerging world of content creators not even knowing what we were doing. I didn't do much speaking in those days. I either rapped or played an instrument. Speaking on camera made me self conscious. I didn't officially speak on camera until my first live IG interview in 2020. I did my first monologue YT short in January 2022. I haven't stopped since. I conquered fear and discomfort. I did not like my voice but I pressed on though. Here I am. Looking forward to doing more. Currently I 'have had a strong first quarter. I had a breakthrough of creativity in March after being sick in February. I felt reborn and renewed. On the first day of the second quarter I started my first email list from my website and that is going very well. I have a strong foundation of supporters that I will share new content with. I'm speaking in quarters because i'm aligned with the book you recommended The 12 week year. Great book so far! The reason why I started an email list is because the social media algorithm hasn't been nice to my content so I built my own network. I can't depend on them anymore. I'll use them when needed. It's nice creating where i'm seen and appreciated. At the same time I had to find joy in creating art when no one is looking. I call myself a seed in the darkness. Bloom in spring will happen for us all when it's time. When it's the season. You have a gift for seeing people. Thanks for seeing me. People that see others are extraordinary. You have to go above and beyond to see past yourself. The fact that 10 year old you was that articulate and self aware tells me that even at an early age you had vision. Hello visionary. Thank you for your diligence. Thank you for showing up. Until next time Walter
hey Walter! absolutely loved reading your journey and seeing how much you've achieved 🙌 can absolutely relate to looking back at how far we've grown, especially when it comes to conquering our fears - huge kudos to you!! 👏 I’m so glad the 12 Week Year resonated with you and hope it brings you some great ideas for this quarter, I'm sure it will be a great one ahead. building your own network is such a smart move, wishing you the best of luck with continuing to expand this network! and thank you for your kind words, it means a lot to be seen and to see others too 💖 until next time 🫶
Who was that little cutie? You haven’t changed a bit! Society has never valued creativity (to its detriment), yet content like yours makes us happy. Keep producing content not giving a 💩 what people think or the metrics say and you will be happier in the long run. You are the reason we log on, content is secondary. 💜
Little Celine is so adorable 🤍 I have definitely felt that on my YT journey about the numbers my first video did so well and now I get like 400 views it would be nice to be monetized but I’m happy to have this as a hobby and get free clothes from brands sometimes 🤍✨ I’m happy having a full time job and finally having done something I’ve always wanted to do which is just start a channel!
I love your attitude and totally agree, starting is the hardest part and at least you're doing what makes you happy which is what matters most on the journey! appreciate you being here 🫶💗
@Celinelikedion Hello Celine, this is such a lovely video to watch🤗. I loved seeing you as a young one in your very early you tube videos.🤩 You are so right about many points that you discussed in this video. When a hobby that gives one happiness becomes a means of earning money, that happiness and satisfaction can be lost. I have noticed that with many of the pop culture channels that I follow, who once had a small following but then acquired a huge number of followers, the creators lost their focus on their creativity, becoming more concerned about the attention economy...the click and bait economy. I agree that videos should be judged on the their creativity and it is so refreshing to see how you truly care about your content.🤗😇👍
hi Lara! glad the video resonated with you 🫶 it's so important to remember why we started and to keep that spark of joy in what we create. and yes, the click bait economy is certainly a thing that's easy to get swept up in! thanks for sharing your perspectives, great to hear from you 🐨💗
First, that was sooo cool seeing that clip of you from long ago. I see you in her and have to smile.🥝Important to note, you didn't *just* "keep at it" - you studied like heck and worked hard to improve your craft and your ideas. That's crucial and performative. 🍓I've always loved creativity and imagination, and even more when I sense the heart in it, the passion and respect, from back in the old days before dinosaurs could even fly. Soo what I'm saying may not have value or interest since it's like I'm looking at what you and our culture's doing through the far end of a rickety telescope. My arts background's in music and journalism. 🥑Media always determines the value of creativity, more than "the audience" does. We had different media 50 years ago when I was starting out, and pretty much unchanged over the past thousand years, so our venues for creativity were limited, kind of moribund and definitely controlled by a hierarchy set in stone. Nothing has changed our world's cultures more than media has, technology the tools. I don't think any culture does well with change happening at the present rate it is affecting us. To me the trend is an extension beginning with language (tool #1) becoming written (tool #2) and then the dissemination of knowledge and wisdom via printing (tool #3) and its powerful democratizing effect.🍇 I like these evolving labels, we use them to try to channel our thinking and create our future... "attention economy" really helps to define and focus us, much better than fuzzy catchalls like "content creators" (which would have chained creativity even further to corporate ideology). We are a consumer-driven society (tail wagging the dog) and for 500 years the consumer (whether popes or royalty or a wealthy class) supports the arts and artists, and dumbs-down the viewers as well, completely controlling what is seen. It was wild for a while, but now it's tiny mammals scurrying beneath the lumbering, battling dinosaurs (mega-tech and energy corporations), trying not to get squashed. We'll evolve. 🍌Last word: yes, numbers are straw dogs, don't chase after them. I almost think there are forces at work wanting to keep us distracted from doing the real creative work. I continue to give you kudos for the huge effort it takes to swim against the mainstream currents. Yes, networking/talking and learning from others more aligned with your own values helps immensely.
wow this is such an insightful comment, I really appreciate you sharing your perspective 🫶 the historical context you provided puts so much into perspective and really highlights the impact of technology on culture and creativity. it's fascinating to consider how our venues for creativity have expanded and shifted over the years. I agree, we're navigating through rapid changes, but it's conversations like these, with others that share aligned values, that keep the essence of creativity alive 🍉🥝🍍 always great to hear your thoughts, thank you for stopping by!
this was a very touching video. I created my first video in I think 2018 and I thought it was so cringe that I deleted it. Now I am giving it another go but I really wish now I had kept that video. There is something so beautiful about being able to look back at our younger selves. Loved this video!
thank you so much for sharing your story! 💖 I firmly believe everyone starts with "cringe" content, but sometimes it takes us stepping away to realize that it's totally normal and ok to be "cringe" hahah. there's always time for new beginnings and creating more memories that we can look back on 🫶 so glad you enjoyed the video!
have you ever experienced anything similar in your own creative pursuits or passion projects? would love to hear your thoughts 💗
