Bought a 2007 5 years ago with 116k on it. 50k miles later, still love it. Infiniti sound system is excellent--put in a CD you own, and you may hear things you never heard before. Trunk with rear seats folded down is enormous, and engine has great punch for this class of car. 2 minor issues in 50K miles. it does wallow a touch, but have completely gotten used to it..
To each his own. I love what Hyundai's doing and the direction they're heading in. They keep adding more and more while keeping their prices in check. I'd buy a hyundai in a heart beat. Time will tell and make believers out of doubters
Time told, and with exception to the Theta II engine fiasco, they’ve done phenomenal. And this gen of Azera and Sonata have withstood the test of time extremely well
Just drove an '06 last night and came away very impressed overall. There was a bit of wind noise on the highway and some bobbing/wallowing over expansion joints, but for the most part it was quiet and had a nice ride IMO. I expected it to be flabbier than, say, a Camry, but in fact it was MUCH more composed and didn't feel as big as it is (I'm comparing to the 2002-06 Camry; I don't know the newer one). My only real hesitation is that the seats are high and feel more like an SUV's than a car's.
@slobhinav Nobody in their right mind is saying the the 2006-11 Azera competes with BMW, Infiniti, or Mercedes and you are being ridiculous for making that comparison. This competes against large cars like the Toyota Avalon, Ford Five Hundred/Taurus, Chevy Impala, Nissan Maxima, and Chrysler 300/Dodge Charger. Based on that comparison, and especially in 2006, the Azera was quite a good car.
And most importantly it's not a god forsaken money pit like those cars it's compared with. I'll leave BMW's to the trust fund douchebag children who never learned what a turn signal is.
The Avalon and Azeras exteriors are both bland and boring but I like The Azeras more. The interior of the Avalon is more richer than the Azera, but they are both good. Id go with the Azera because of the price. For all the money you'll pay for a fully loaded Avalon you might as well get a Lexus ES
@TerryFilming Yeah....my friends dad has one. It may have more horsepower. But with a clunky 6 speed automatic and plastic almost everywhere. It is not that great. 0-60. I bet you the BMW will get there faster. In terms of handle......the suspension on all Hyundai's is horrible. Just because a car is cheaper, doesn't mean it is better.
What kind of a luxury car doesn't come with its own multimedia.or even a fucking NAVI system? WTF? A 5 speed automatic?WTF? The worst BMW's have 7 speed automatics now, the best have 8. Thats 80's tech right there. V6 for a luxury car?WTF. Get an infiniti if you want value with a budget. No thanks! I will stick to looking at the BMW 5 series.
I know this is a 9 y e a r o l d c o m m e n t, but 1. There is nothing wrong with a 5 speed automatic. 2. Most sedans in this price point are V6s. The only exception is the 5 series, with an inline 6.
still running good with 214k miles from 2007 until now
good job hyundai

Beautiful car Hyundai Azera, reliability is a 10. The ride is so comfortable, the interior is awesome.

Cabin noise and ride quality are the negatives!? I don't really get much cabin noise at all, and the ride is smooth so idk what he's talking about.

Awesome vehicle interior and exterior, will take this over a BMW or Mercedes, the reliability is a 10.
Noisy cabin??? Not mine. Still a nice informative review.
Thanks for the review. The engine power is impressive and the interior is comfortable. The sun roof is a nice touch.
is it quick or just got decent power?
