Lol. It became a celebration where lots of people would show up & add to the money so that the homeless people could have a day where they could buy what they like. It was also great because it was what the UK would call a very posh mall. Ricky loved going on O&A as well 😂

Of course, there's a lot of Nordic ancestry in my part of the country too, so maybe Karl and my own family are both descended from a clan of very unimaginative vikings.
Karl Pilkington as an enthusiastic viking invader. Unimpressed with the whole thing, and complaining about why we're crossing the frigid, miserable sea to knick a bunch of rubbish we've already got at home.
Naw, the kid is mistaken on this one. Karl isn’t funny intentionally, he’s just a fantastic derp that he is the kind of funny that makes people laugh at you instead of with you. He’s super stubborn and argumentative and he “doesn’t get it” more than anyone I can recall, and it’s entertaining, like a chaotic scene of absolute chaos is entertaining. I imagine you must keep a tight watch on your minutes engaged with Karl so you aren’t harmed, kinda like you do with radiation. Know your limits, it could end badly should you not.

I think Gervais is a genius, but found this one pretty boring. Laughs are few and far between and rhyming sack and wax isn't that hilarious. This was a fun idea in theory, but I think they overestimated their improvisation skills on this one.
Karl is a comedian. That serious demeanor is part of the skit. And it’s hilarious.

Ricky has said so many times if karl had good acting like that he wouldn't of sent him to sky for idiot abroad and all the rest of it. Ricky says things in certain ways to mudal Karl's brain and Karl comes out with them things. It's definitely not all acting. But you believe what you thick is right I ain't changeing your mind.
He's very slightly self aware, just enough to very occasionally intentionally commit to the bit, and of course he's aware that people think he's funny, but this is 100% just Karls personality.@@pulsatingsausageboy2076
