I started watching you several years ago. I believe your channel was the first excavation channel I started watching. I really enjoy your videos especially when you talk through it and give us some idea on how much something might cost. Now I watch you and Sam. Both great channels. Keep it up, Todd.
Really enjoying your videos. Im trying to do exactly what you do for a living. At a much smaller scale and a whole lot less experience. Instead of a huge dump truck I got a dump trailer, old Case backhoe and a 5 ton excavator. Using your channel to gain as much knowledge as possible as I try to make a living at it, without getting into too much trouble. Keep the videos coming.
Thanks for another good one! 30 isn’t late in the game in the grand scheme. I know what they are saying, but I had my first at 35. Second at 37. I’m 47 now and I’m able to keep up pretty well. It would have been great to have them much earlier, but wasn’t in my cards. Thanks again!
Had a midlife crisis purchase I bought a JD 50D and then I had to get an old loadstar dump truck as if you have an excavator need a dump. Mainly just using it on my ranch, but now need to get a trailer to move it around as walking a mile sucks. Love you channel i watch as much as possible to learn new things as after i get a trailer i may start to pimp out my hoe to at least help pay for maintenance costs.
Thanks for the tips for moving the machine around on wet sloped ground. I very much appreciate your thinking out loud as you work through various parts of the job, especially the warning related to the ground falling off under the machine. I've been watching your videos for a while now and I notice you make quite a bit of jump turns with the excavator. Are there any concerns for track wear, track frame wear, or losing a track using this technique? Any difference related to steel versus rubber tracks?
You are so welcome! It actually reduces track wear. It can be rough on rollers if you’re not soft about it. I love the rubber tracks. They grip just as good as steel
Thanks Todd. I have enjoyed watching and learning from your videos.
