The first time I ever sat down to analyze a match - and, admittedly, this wasn't very long ago - I realized that a seemingly casual wrestling match conveys such a plethora of information that it's just impossible to pick up on all of it during your first watch-through. I watched that match a total of 6 times or so, focusing on a different aspect with each one, and time just flew right by me as I got sucked into the magic of wrestling at its core. It was truly fascinating to view that match through what I would presume was my 'wrestling-brain'!
Fucc, boi. This is a hard one to process. I have movie-brain, too, once I learned how screenwriting works. Wrestle-brain is definitely there, too. Particularly with submission spots.
Stardom has been over-delivering for the last 3 - 4 years, I'm glad to see them, as well as Tokyo Joshi Pro, are starting to pick up steam with fans outside of Japan.
I have a question for you. I am still a beginner and I want to know should I try and create my own pro wrestling character? The switch for me was my first day of training. I also have to watch old matches from late 80's and early 90's.
I love your videos. U live near Connecticut by any chance I'm going to be putting on a few shows this year and wondering if ur interested in maybe working the shows
Early 2006. I started training and we were going through kick out drills. Later that night I went home and was watching Kenny Omega in his early ROH days and his kick outs had me in awe. Pretty sure that's the moment my brain switched. Kenny Omegas kick out.
I'm 17 yrs old, I started watching wrestling at 7 years age But , Now I'm learning this craft , whenever i watch Raw , Smackdown I always just think about, they could've made this segment more interesting, they should've put some more backstage scenes That's kinda cool but boring at the same time. It started actually 2 years year when I started studying wrestling especially WWE I tried to learn how to cut a promo by myself I got curious, how to make a storyline. When i started doing that, i had to really think about this while i was watching thunderdome etc. Then my whole prespectice of watching wrestling channed. Two week ago i was watching a segment of( the miz Austin Theory and Mustafa Ali) , I started thinking Mustafa Ali can cut of the best promos. Then i zooned out and went into my world of wrestling storyline creating department in my brain. After 10 min i realized (segment is over)
Whatsup Mike! I wanted to ask what do you think is the best route to get to WWE, Become an Indy Wrestler or become an Athlete? (Even tho NCAA is not an option for me)
If the WWE is your only goal, become a pro athlete, excel at that to a point of national recognition, and then start mentioning your interest in WWE in interviews. That is 10,000% more likely to get you into the WWE than becoming a pro-wrestler and working your way up through various circuits.
I think the only chance I would have on becoming a pro athlete is becoming a power lifter, should I go for that? Or should I just stick with Pro Wrestling? (I do have pretty good connections in the business)
@@javirosariovlogs9551 You are more likely to be signed by WWE as a top level powerlifter than as any kind of professional wrestler. That's just the state of things right now.
I know I have wrestle-brain because whenever there's a betrayal in a movie/show, I call it a heel turn. EDIT: I have now heard the word "masturbatory" twice this week. Who would've thought? Not me.
That's a tough one. WWF was my thing for a narrow slice of the New Generation Era. I loved the characters: the 1-2-3 Kid, Max Moon, Repo Man, Papa Shango, Skinner...it was crazy! And the tag teams of the era, like High Energy, the Steiners, Money Inc...I could watch those guys forever and never get bored. Are you a fan of that era?
@@TilWeMakeIt well I'm 17 i don't know alot of things about that era but whenever i watch i just wanna watch more Who's your favorite WWE wrestler now a days
@@thepollguy4311 Well, it's tough for me to get over my personal biases - I trained Drew Gulak from the ground up. Stylistically, I see a lot of myself in his work, and so I'm attracted to that. I always enjoy watching people that I trained or did consulting work for, helping them along their way. I'm very fortunate in that I count Meiko Satomura among my friends, and her work on NXT:UK has been incredible! What about you?
@@TilWeMakeIt Why do you say that? You could take clips from your channel and post them to bring people from that platform over here even. I believe in you!

Yeah, if you read "Save the Cat" or similar works, movies are basically done with. I feel ya!
Context on the choice of pics 7 minutes in?
Malakai Black and the pro wrestling Noah? pic?
Just wondering cause I enjoy his work and some of Noah
Just random placement from an archive of photos. I do tend to favor images of my trainees/proteges, like Tommy.
Your vids are always so helpful thanks Mike :D
You bet, MB! Thanks so much!
Another LIKEAPALOOZO for MIKE and TWMI!
Muchas gracias, Señor Dephynce!
Respect for showing that Stardom screenshot. It's something I got into in December so very pleasant to see that you man of culture

Hey John, thanks for asking! I live just outside of Philadelphia. I'd say most towns in CT are... 5 hours away or so?
Just found your channel ✌️ Subscribed and tapped on bell icon ❤️
Well thanks for that - I appreciate it!

I find myself doing the same thing whenever i watch wrestling too rn, but i watch it less now that i have started to train

Not sure I've ever related so strongly. Switching it off... almost impossible.
Have you found a hack for it yet? The only way I can switch out of that mode is watching wrestling from when I was only a fan.
@@TilWeMakeIt yeah I revisit old stuff I enjoyed, or I watch wrestling with people who are still in fan mode and try see it through their eyes.

Much obliged!

You should start putting your content up on TikTok as well. You could really get this knowledge out there and grow your brand!
I don't know if I'm a good fit for TikTok, but I appreciate your suggestion!
