Returning to Malaysia, I tackle financial responsibilities such as visiting the bank to handle credit card and loan matters. It's a significant step for me as an expat, transitioning from a supplementary card to having my own credit card and securing a loan for my first house purchase.
During my visit, I prioritize spending quality time with my family. From enjoying late-night suppers together, a tradition close to our hearts, to accompanying my father to the wet market to source ingredients for his restaurant business, the moments shared conjure memories and reinforce the bond between us.
I also seize the opportunity to reconnect with friends, catching up on each other's lives and reminiscing about the past. The joy of these reunions emphasizes the value of maintaining strong connections despite the distance and time apart.
Being an expat has provided me with valuable experiences and growth opportunities. I've learned how to remotely manage affairs overseas, ensuring things run smoothly even when I'm away. Each trip back home becomes a precious occasion, where I savor the cherished moments with family and friends and recognize the importance of treasuring these limited reunions.
