Tatiana Shmailyuk of Jinjer sprayed with water/beer during show in Nashville, TN (Brooklyn Bowl)

- Not sure why this fan was so rude, could have just been shaking the water bottle to the music or something (reports coming out now that it may actually be beer) but you can visibly see when Tatiana Shmailyuk gets hit with the water and it goes into her ear clearly affecting her in-ear monitor. Like a true professional though, she shrugs it off and the keeps going until the song is over, then she walks backstage more than likely to dry off really quick and get a new ear piece/monitor.
This is during their song "Ape". If you want to see what happens after the song then scroll to 20:20 on this video ( • JINJER - LIVE at the B... ). You can also watch the rest of the show from that link too.
I was standing near the sound console watching the entire show, and I remember seeing the guy starting spraying it everywhere and I was thinking "what a dick head". 2 things I thought were cool: People in the pit basically forcibly removed that guy and pushed him to the back of the room afterwards, and even though she was visibly unhappy about it, Tati handled it like a pro. I've been touring for years and I've seen people walk off stage for less than that, so good on her for finishing the song and then trying to get it fixed as quick as possible.
Wasn't OSN at the same concert?
You’re right. I’ve been to the ICP gathering a bunch of times and I’ve seen Redman take a glass bottle to the face but finish. Also seen other artists just get booed and leave
If you act like an asshole in the pit, it will cost you.
Last time she comes to nashville...
@WildLifePrepper Water doesn't mix well with electronics
In-ear monitors are expensive
Was at this show. It got taken care of. Those of us in the pit pretty much picked that A-hole up and carried him all the way to the back out of the crowd, from there I imagine security dealt with him.
Thanks for doing so -- I was at the show my self but was near the back and was bummed when I saw this happen, so glad she handled it so well. I can only hope he received a few ''bumps'' on they way to the back of the crowd. He passed me and my gf on the way to the front and he was just running into people.
@@Sindra297 Yeah, he was a problem for sure. It really ticked me off too when I saw him doing that.
@@morgandowney4373 Do we know if it was Water or Beer? Hearing conflicting reports
@@MarcumStewart it was water, i was there too, he had a water bottle
I was up on the balcony so I didn’t see who did it, but you could really tell it pissed her off
I have seen Jinjer live and Tatiana stands on that stand to be closer to the crowd and create a better experience. She does not stand on that stand to be sprayed with whatever that was. I would have been pissed but she handled it like a pro and finished the song. Props to her and props to the crowd for moving that jerk out of there.
I saw all this happen from the balcony and watched all the fans push him out. In fact, from where I was watching it looked like he tried to come back down a bit later with a drink in each hand, and folks pushed him to the back again. 🖤 I hate that some dumbass in my hometown did this. 🙄
This totally made me react violently, listen I planned two trips to Jinjer shows, I spent alot of money and these great people deserve so much respect, they escaped basically a war and now instead of being bitter they show us total grace and share their ART… I’d b n jail if I’d been there cause Tatiana has a job, she’s doing her job, and throwing beer while she has electronic equipment on and disrespecting their work ethic, come on…when u go to work, you want beer sprayed or slung on you… man I hope y’all taught the person a hard lesson, behind the woodshed, gawd I’m so mad and ultimately disappointed that there r people who have no respect for others, btw, I was totaled at the Charlotte show, but I did not act a fool so since whomever did this can’t control themselves, stay home, stay gone, and hope our paths never cross because I’ll act a fool on ur ass although I know my reaction would be wrong, I’d ring ur neck!
1. She's never going to touch you.
2. You would do nothing if you saw the person who did this besides say something and storm off.
I don't know what in the hell possesses some people to do this shit. I mean seriously, what makes someone think it is perfectly reasonable to spray liquid up at someone performing on the stage?
The same kind of thinking that would lead someone to live in Nashville
Never been around drunk people before ,huh? Most people are cool but some people just lose it when they drink(yelling, cursing, fighting, out of control jerks)been to many shows and got many alcoholic beverages spilled and thrown my direction and I don't even drink 😆 sometimes it's even the band doing it smh.
Why would you pay money to watch a band, then only to disrespect them by doing something moronic towards them, while they are entertaining you?🤔 People are just sh*tc**ts sometimes. 😡
Alcohol?
Actually it did apparently get to Tatiana's equipment... Really not cool. Maybe that person did have a lot of fun but gotta take others into the consideration, especially the people in the band. Some frontpeople like Mustaine or whatever may stop the show and have a "funny" angry monologue out of it and be done with that but for other people it may be not that okay and easy. Tatiana just keeps singing the song , but it's so not okay. Not to speak of other people in the crowd.
It got on her in ears which they have had trouble with on a few of the shows with this tour apparently....i was at this show she did not like that shit and the fact of her being a introvert probably doesn't help either.....in short the moral of the story is dont be a drunken asshole
i gotta say as a former tech guy that shit is fucking annoying. expensive equipment gets ruined like that
I was there and saw it happen from further back in the pit. It took me a second to realize what was going on, but once I knew, I was disappointed that someone so close to all that electronic equipment would do that. Seeing her having trouble with her earpiece afterwards made me quite upset. It may have been someone else later on, but I recall someone a little further back trying to sling water all over the place again! What an ass-clown! Now that I've read comments and see that he was ejected by the pit members again, I give them a round of applause!
I was at the show and was so impressed with her and the band I drove 3hrs from eastern Tennessee to see them
Where was this show? It looks like the Norva in Norfolk Va
Waste of time and money.
To perform in front of many people or fans is enough of a pressure for the artists and now an idiot f*ck do an idiot thing which he think he is cool and edgy, but she handled it so well so the other fans could still enjoy the show, bless her
I remember back in the very early 2000s seeing Static X at the palace in hollywood with FF and some one threw their wet t-shirt on stage. Well it landed on top of Wayne Statics hair and whatever he put in his hair to make it stick up like that basically made the t-shirt glue to his hair and they couldn't remove it. It was near the end of the set anyways so he basically finished the last four songs with a white t-shirt glued to his hair. He was annoyed clearly but handled it very well. It was hilarious
That's weird, she made a gesture in that direction just before being sprinkled with water. Paradoxically it occurred in 'Ape' a song about the stupid human nature, the 'fan' (you're kind) suits to a T with the meaning of the song.
So what is the paradox?
@@Ian666peace it's a common misspelling of 'coincedentally'...
He's lucky that wasn't Sophia Urista . He would have got sprayed back.
She is awesome person keep going like nothing happens can't wait to see them live
The entire band is so professional they just kept jamming, some fans are douch bags
im sure the offender got dealt with, Metal fans tend to self police there own shows and they dont tolerate this kind of douchbaggery . last Rob Zombie show i went to some guy tried tearing the skirt of a young lady and a few of us fans made sure he got a first class ride to the local hospital that night
Thank you. As a woman attending shows this is very common but would be even worse if it weren't for the other metalheads who don't tolerate this kind of behavior and stand up against bullshit like that 🤘🏼
@@FutileGrief wow ‘really common’? What’s wrong with these f-trds?
Trust me. I was there. He did
The stage is off limits - to anything - as far as I’m concerned.
I believe in security. Big security. Causing teeth knocked out Security.
In the 90’s and early 00’s any metal singer would have jumped off of the staged and kicked that guys a$$ right there, right away… The crowd would go nuts 🤘🏻😎
I really love the lights show. Kudos to the crew. It's very cool
These guys work so damn hard ... this kind of shit makes me ashamed of being American .
Same, I hope they don't think any less of us. I want them to have a good time here not a bad one.
Don't be ashamed. It's actually good to throw shit on Tatiana, she an overrated poser
@@tamasbottka3451 wtf???
props to tatiana for still singing i would of left the stage
just for a bit of beer on you you would left the stage ? ..what a diva
*would have
Tatiana please keep touring In US we need you. Just because some people are assholes I hope doesn't take away from the people that love you and your music. It means soooo much to me
Oh Hell No! Get those punks outta there!
I was there and saw it happen, the guy doing it was an ass and he had gotten the crap knocked out of him several times because of stuff he was doing. It's sad that JinJer comes all the way from the Ukraine for the fans, then one jerk does this.
She has a killer set of pipes on her. The first time I heard Pisces and found out it was a female doing that scream, I was incredulous
Had idiots throwing cups full of beer in NOLA too. At first, they were just throwing them across the crowd, not toward the stage. Then they threw a couple onto the stage and she just shook her head at them. A shoe ended up on stage too at some point. She fastballed that sucker back into the crowd mid-note rofl
Not cool ...these guys work really hard and have for years ..it's rude and disrespectful ..she didn't deserve this ...either act like a f**king adult or stay home
I was there at this show. This might be the reason why Jinjer didn't mention this show on their IG ha
It is true douche baggery, agreed. That being said, that's one of the many hazards of touring. If that's the worst hurdle in Tatiana's career, then she is truly blessed.
Be kind to one another and show the bands that work hard to entertain us some class, appreciation, and respect
This isn't that uncommon, from both bands and fans. Not exactly something I like but think some of you are exaggerating it and likely are kind of new to the metal scene. Really does show what the future holds for the genre, barf.
Some spraying is not that big a deal, I'm sure she has seen much worse, but it looks like it messed up her earpiece. Her frustration is very understandable.
Dude in crowd is like, ill never go this strip bar again.
There was a guy at the Frisco show that tried some stupid shit near the rail and got beat the fuck up.
Probably that's why I have seen other concerts where ALL bottles with some liquid are forbidden to enter the show with.
not cool :(
I mean even if people in the crowd don't mind it (although it's not some summer open air fest anyway) it distracts the band and may interfere with equipment.
I am old enough to remember when Sebastian Bach dove into the crowd to get to the guy who had thrown a beer at him. He accidentally punched a girl in the ensuing melee.
It was a Holy Water !!!!
yooo fuck that! you can see how her mood changes after :( although shes always amazing. Tatiana is a god damn angel! Respect really isn't that hard is it?????
How ironic Kelly B, you call Tatiana an angel while using G.D. in the same sentence. You Kelly B. get NO respect.
Great band
Gonna see this absolutely fantastic band at the Orange Peel in Asheville soon. If anyone pulls this kook shit there, its gonna be Malice at the Palace: Round Two
What part does he throw the drink? I can't see it
At around 0:20 and afterwards you can see her swipe it off her shoulder and then check inside her ear because a little bit got into her ear and probably hit the in-ear monitor. Certainly wasn't a big ole dousing of water, just enough to irritate someone that's trying to perform
@@MarcumStewart you posted that comment 2 times. Thanks though
Oh my goodness. That is so horrible. Thank God for the people patting themselves on the back for their heroism. Artist’s do this all the time to the crowd not seeing how this is a story. Oh Well.
Wtf who does that! That would have made me stop the show.....to point that person out...to all the other fans...
I think around 0:45-46 she said "Jebem".
And this possibly why their show in Albuquerque did not allow shit on the floor near the stage
I think maybe people think it's cute being a heckler or the dude who thinks he can anonymously hurl shit at the stage. They need to kick the bum out and ban him from the venue for a few years. Especially now that music is starting up over again let's not fuck up the program!
It is a pity that she did not say something rude to him, sometimes such actions are missing at their concerts
I actually thought she would say something, was surprised she left it alone. However, you could tell it ticked her off for a little bit. She was a true professional about it though
@@MarcumStewart Sometimes prefosionalism gets in the way, just in these situations , if she reacted, she wouldn't lose her fans, on the contrary
I don't think rude is in her nature.. that being said, stopping the show, having that asshat brought up and told he's paying for the equipment he screwed up would have been epic.
@@sbro5680 guys, she's an introvert. I'm an introvert as well. The last thing we want is conflict. Anything that will put us in a bad mood ruins not only our day but the whole month lol. But here is what I would be thinking or probably what she did as well, I'll be thinking holy fuck disrespected, maybe I should end the show now and hide in the bus. Don't want to see this state town venue ever again. Definitely wouldn't say anything on the mic. I'd wanna leave and get away from yall forever. Their song wallflowers mentions her introverted part of herself. "i gotta go home my batteries are low" yup, gotta recharge after some bullshit or too much socializing.
Throwing beer at the Queen of metal. That's 2 good reasons to get kicked out.
goes to show you the disrespect of people and why is there a person holding a shoe?
lol, I honestly didn't notice the person holding the shoe until now
I once lost my shoe in the pit and was lucky that someone held up my shoe at the time. So maybe he's just helping somebody :D
You've obviously never been to a metal show for you to ask that question. Turns out a lot of Jinjers fans haven't either lmao
and this is why we can't have nice things
this job is dangerous. once i got same thing. thaught to myself, well better a plastic beer glass than a ashtray . not to mention dimebag darell
This kind of a thing used to happen a lot in outdoor festivals and people always loved it!
Kept performing like a professional through a persons ignorance.
Having troubles with that ear monitors again, I see.
Had something similar happen in 2010 Megadeth was preforming and some asshole threw a Beer Can at Dave Mustaine hit him right in the head. Thank God Security was there, cause the entire crowd was about to disembowel that guy.
Heard it was a Russian!
See a lot of snowflakes saying it was only water. If I come to where you work and spit on you it's only water.
Intent belies the same level of disrespect
Was at the Dallas show. That dude was lucky he wasnt there. That would have been an ass whoopin on sight.
Okay internet tough guy lmao
Recovery in a wile
My grandma bought me tickets to this show and I swear there is always some jerk trying to be mean in the pit.. like c'mon dude get a life am I right like bro get a job and some khakis and a car like you're 29 now guy you gotta do more gooder than that bro guy dude guy bro
That guys must be a Cardi B fan
Man whatever happened to raw energy from the performers at live shows these days lol with this type of music you would think her hair would be down and rocking out. She looked kind of bored and checking her ear piece and making sure her hair is ok and pacing like she is doing a Ted Talks... I just get the vibe like she cant wait till the show is over.
😮
I know who the "I'll take your life away" was dedicated to... 😊
Whats the name of this song
"Ape"
Thanks
Sounds like Nickleback
I doubt it was intentional or anything, just another typical drunk dude at a concert not knowing what he's doing. Per reports, sounds like the crowd took care of it themselves. Serves him right.
What song is this?
"Ape"
This isn't uncommon. Fans can be a lil nuts, unfortunately.
well.... Nashville, USA.
It was really one bad apple in the crowd. Luckily the rest of the crowd dealt with that dude
If you don’t respect the artist enough to not act like a child and throw shit on stage then do us all a favor and stay home. Give your ticket to someone who deserves it
Was there, it was water. Who was the idiot waving the shoe?
what song is?
I mentioned that in the description. It's during their song "Ape". I also linked the rest of the concert in the description as well :)
@@MarcumStewart Muchas gracias, no sabía!
It was " ape" but she finished like a trooper.

that tiny little sprinkle warranted a video? lawl.
Did she survive?
It surprised me how personal most of people on the comments take this issue, im from Argentina and here its normal to see people throwing full glasses in the air, like a whole litre of beer, i mean I DO think they are assholes but idk, we keep enjoying the show, it's not the end of the world... guess we're well known for behaving like apes down here...
She don't like beer?
Who🤔
Hahaha, it's a fucking rock show... everyone's acting like it's some huge offense. "She's such a hero! She pushed right thru the madness!". Hahaha, a lil water, jeeeezis... everyone take a deep breath, and have a nice day... she lived! =)
I've been playing metal since 95. Never once had a problem with it. Beer, water, piss, coke, bodies.....what ever flies at me I keep screaming with the head banging and my dreads flyin.....if it's not chaos it's not metal..... but that's just me
Doesn't matter ..it's disrespectful ...this band has been busting ass for years and it took them years to get clearance to even leave Russia ..not to mention it damages their equipment ..you gonna pay for their damaged equipment ??
@@van502 well good for you neckbeard but this isn't your band playing ..
@@whateverwhatever5715 the fans already did, with merch and ticket sales. Equipment is easily replaced. You act like she got sexually assaulted on stage lmao soft ass fans.
Americans😒😒😒👎👎why I'm not surprised
No idea who this person is!!!!
In this kind of shows with this music what do you spec? Flowers? Rice?
I remember when It was normal getting sprayed with beer at a metal or punk show
Yeah she's a clown.
Yeah, in the crowd, sure, but not as a performer. You're up there to play and/or sing the music, and it takes a lot of focus to perform in front of people. You have to be in the headspace to deliver a quality show. And this has NOTHING to do with her being a woman, just her being a musician. I would feel the same about anyone else in the band. I play on stage and it's never okay to have objects - solid, liquid, or otherwise - flying on stage. It's not about being a diva or primadonna or whatever you all are calling it, it's about the expectation of having a place to play your music free of foreign debris.
@WildLifePrepper while writing from your cellphone when in these times that you claim to be better phones didn’t exist. Now you can’t live with it, but, point fingers to others of being soft? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oh boo hoo. its a fuckin metal show.
Grow a pair lady, this happens in every show.
So many snowflakes in Metal these days 😂
Damn! This metal generation is full of crybabies made of paper... 😂😂🤣
Oh dear a few drops of water and you are all freaking out 🤣😂🤣 I wonder what sort of concerts you have all been attending when a few drops of water bother you that much Cheezus get over yourselves or next time go to a classical concert and sit and politely clap but make sure you clap in the correct moments and during the break you can say do you know what I went to one of these rock concerts and I saw someone spray water from a plastic cup and a few drops hit the singer it was frightfully shocking I feared for her life as well as my own but luckily some concert bullies took care of the frightful brute I mean water of all thing it's just terrible what they do at rock concerts
It seems these days heavy music is just a facade . Real hardcore bands back in the day got full cans of bear to the face. Constantly getting spat on etc.
This is a joke.
Thrashing out but afraid of some beer.
Yeah no. Been going to shows since 98, you tried that shit at a hardcore show in the Detroit area and you would be properly stomped out
@@71N1S4 The Cure isn't hardcore bud lmao.
Well if they stopped playing pisces every 5 fuckin minutes maybe people would like them more... She's ok as a female vocalist, but nothing groundbreaking
Could have been worse
Is this even metal and why is their complaining about being sprayed with beer? Yeah this ain't metal.
This band seem to have lost their edge, always technical problems and poor vocal performance.
Awh, her poor make up got ruined. I remember when vocalists wouldn't mind beer or water thrown on them. But those guys didn't care about their make up so I guess that's why. What a soft ass singer. This new generation is sorry af.
She’s not good
That outfit is awful
Worst band.
Whaaat?? Not Nickelback? 😆😅🤣😂
She wanted to go Axl Rose for a sec! Good on her for keeping it going. Pretty disgusting when you're unsure of what it actually was. Morons do that with their piss like an animal marking their property. Seriously idiots with less brain cells than a fkng gnat do that at shows! Surprised she didn't lose it! If she did I would have completely understood!
