I can’t be 100% sure but there might be some slight differences EQ wise but I’ve played a base version and they sound great! $600 seems a little much so see if you can get the price down a little.
Very mild difference in default/flat EQ curve. The Archetype is a bit more high mid and less low mid while the standard V2 has a bit more low end and little less mid high and more low mids. Still very mild difference. The important point is that the onboard EQ allows any amp in this series to sound like the other amps. You can make the Archetype sound more like the Ninja V2 or standard V2, and make those sound like the Archetype.
I have the standard v2 does this model have more gain on the solid state channel I don’t really no what the difference is between cows and standard model
It doesn’t literally have more gain, but it is voiced with slightly more upper mids with a default EQ curve (everything at noon and graphic EQ off to flat). The standard can be a bit more mid and low mid heavy, though in the grand scheme, both amps have that dark, thick and dry gain. Of course, the graphic EQ on these amps can easily make them all sound like each other.
Were you running this through an attenuator? Because I note that the master volume is very high. And did you find that as people describe, it opens the sound up more?
No was attenuation being used here. I play and record at volume so yeah it was loud. I find tube powered amps open up more when the volume is high. Not so much with solid state like this.
@@ToysForNoize Fascinating. That must’ve been very loud as you’re almost at the halfway point on a hybrid amp with a massive 400 watt power section to match the headroom of of the average 100-120 watt tube amp. I’ve heard that these amps are very loud and hold things together against full tube amps thanks to that headroom.
The tone you got with the EQ and Grind was out of this world!
This amp sounds amazing! 🙌
Sounds Amazingly Insane! Like a Mesa Boogie
Thanks man. Very underrated amp.
@@ToysForNoize I hope that some day Randall will consider producing these Amps Again.
i have one 😉
Please let me know if you ever wanna let go of it or in case you find another haha 😁
Wasn’t this the christian wolbers amp?
Yup
Awesome.... If you ever want to let it go, please let me know.
Thanks but don’t see that happening any time soon.
Would you consider making a profile of it for Neural Amp Modeller?
I've wanted to play one of these for years now.
Its pretty much impossible.
I have a chance to grab a Base V2 for 600. Wondering how much different it is and if it's worth it. Looks to be in excellent shape.

I wish I had an answer. I have no idea.

Only, difference between the 3 versions are the preamp tubes.
What are you running for preamp tubes in this amp?
I honestly don’t know. It’s whatever the amp came with. I’ve never changed them.
I makes hardly any difference changing the pre amp tube.

Any chance you would ever sell?I would pay a good price for it.
Sorry not at this time. But if I change my mind I’ll hit you up.
@@ToysForNoize Thanks
