I got my eight year old a Crush Mini and a Squier Mini Jazzmaster for Christmas this year. I liked the fact the amp is battery powered and can’t produce a volume that would easily cause permanent and irreparable hearing loss. Sure it sounds pretty bad, but it’s got a usable sound so he can hear himself play without worrying about it at all. He can use my Rockerverb MKIII 100 and PPC412 under supervision. Everything has it’s place and the Crush Mini was a perfect choice.
@@JeanMarceaux don’t worry, plenty of Orange goodness available here. I’ve got a PPC112, PPC212OB, PPC410 & PPC412 cabs and a Tiny Terror, TH30, CR120, Rockerverb MKIII 100 and OR100 in my home studio to keep us both busy playing with.
My first amp is a Orange Crush 20rt.. i can say that I don't have any regret purchasing the amp. Sounds good, still got nothing broken for almost 2 year of usage. I really like the clean tone, for the dirty channel.. it's still sounds good.
I envy you. My 20RT stopped producing any sound except some horrid modem-dialup noise. I had to toss it. I loved it up to that point, though. I kinda want to buy another one, but I'm gun-shy....
I'm glad this came up in my recommendations. I've playing for a long time and I've had quite a few amps but I've never had an Orange amp or even played through one but I've heard good things about them and recently I've been wanting a new (to me) small amp and want to take a closer look at Orange. So I clicked on this video immediately. Great review! I really like that you went over different useful scenarios and sounds so we can get a good idea. Now I know what model I want to look for first and hopefully find locally that I can try out myself before pulling the trigger. Also, just a nice bonus but I really like the way Orange amps look. They're definitely different but in a good way, imo.
Love my Crush 20. Scooping the mids on high gain immediately gives you that 90s goodness in style of Hum which is basically all I need from dirt channel.
Orange has such great products. They’re well built compared to competitors and sounds great too. I own the OR30, AD30, Rocker 15 Terror, Tiny Terror, Super Crush 100 and am always rationalizing why I need another handful more to add to my collection. Glad you seem to feel the same way and continue to make videos featuring their products!
Got my OR15 this year, and I coudn't be happier! It was my favourite amp from youtube, inspite of it's low power. The tone is incredible, orange amps rule!
Same here, own & love my 35RT. If I were to mod it, I would install an Ext. Speaker Out jack (I've seen YT video specific to Orange Crush amp) so I can step up to a 112 cab.
My first amp was an Orange Micro dark years ago thanks to your videos! I never got the big crush head because i turned into a Marshall lover but the Orange solid state stuff is the best there is these days. Especially since all the other stuff in the same price range is digital and when those break you can't fix them
I’ve had a Crush 20 for a couple of years and love it. As for volume, don’t underestimate the 20w. I never have it above 2 out of 10 and it’s plenty loud enough for me!
I love my orange crush 35rt, i’m an amateur guitar player who plays small shows so the 35rt is perfect for me, it’s loud enough to be heard even next to a metal drummer and i almost never worry about being too quiet, on the other hand because it’s only 35 watts even if i crank it the amp doesn’t impede on any other instruments so it’s the perfect range of dynamics for me
I've been playing acoustic for 3ish years and I'm finally taking the plunge into electric but the options on amps and preamps and combos were super overwhelming. I've seen some of my favourite guitarists using Orange so I was inclined to like those, but after your analysis in this vid I caved in a got a Contemporary Squier Tele and the Crush 20RT. Thank you so much Colin!!
I pair the 35 rt with my JC-22 for my wet/dry rig. The natural crunch you get from the Orange tone is perfect to my ears. And then the JC amp is perfect for any wet or modulation and surprisingly handles high gain really well.
For the past few days I've been looking for a new Orange amp (had few of those before), and a big thank you for this deep dive into them. The 35RT now doesn't seem as a good option for mostly playing at home, however, I'm still slightly tempted by bigger speakers and FX loop is a big extra. Thank you for the channels content and stay safe. Cheers
FX loop might be the deciding factor if you want to use the Crush distortion channel with a delay - I really struggled with having the delay pedal in the front of the smaller amps, but it sounded excellent through the 35RT FX loop. It is however a LOT of amp for home application - but sounds really nice when you can get it turned up.
This is my issue here, I wish the rt20 amp had on board delay Instead of the reverb. I wonder if a eq in the loop of the rt35 could help tame the volume? Isnt that basicallywhat the jhs blackbox does anyways? OR orange could ditch That useless headphone out on the twenty and replace it with an effects loop. That'd be huge@ScienceofLoud
I have an orange crush bass 50 and play my Danelectro longhorn and ignition fiddle bass through it. Just incredible. The house is still reverberating from the first note I plucked the day I got the amp 4 years ago.
I see people often say that bass amps usually needs way more power to gig compared to guitar amps. Did you play with your Crush Bass 50 with a drummer? I want to get one to practice in my garage with my friends, sure a Crush 100 would fit better, but me broke 😅
It's good to see cheaper options for fellas who are just starting out. My first (and only) amp was made from a kit I bought online, fabricated into a speaker box I bought from the thrift store for a couple of bucks, with 3d printed knobs on the back, and a power supply I salvaged from an LCD screen.
Great video bro. A must watch for anyone thinking of this form factor from Orange. You showing the settings that you used is extremely helpful. Cheers from NZ 😎🎸🤘
Not gonna get on the soapbox here, But I just want to say that I’m glad to see you back on the YT platform. Thank you Collin for making all of this TV grade content out of your heart for us all to enjoy and learn from
I could also see this as a great platform for the dozens of modelers out there, for someone who just needs a good speaker but doesn't want to spend big money on a seperate cab and power amp, one of the big drawbacks of modelers is if you're running directly into a PA you're not getting that tone of "pushing air" in a physical space.
35RT has a huge amount of clean volume which could make for a fantastic pairing with a digital modeler if you want to get a more 'real' live sound out of it. A lot of people are using them as a clean platform for their pedalboards.
@@ScienceofLoudthis is actually exactly what I’ve been doing with my 35rt. I’ve been running twin reverb and bassman modelers on my board straight through the input and they sound amazing. Then for cleans I switch it off and use the combo. Absolutely love this thing, it’s such a good platform but can hold its own without the board
I like how you mentioned the real usecases for the amps and examples of their best use! Peeps in the guitar community tend to focus on "bigger is better". Thanks for sharing this in that way!
the decision that orange made to put a cab out on the micro crush is brilliant, its as brilliant as the boss katana head having a small 5" built in speaker. its one of those things where you think why others dont do it. that little orange amp is very good gateway drug of amps for new users
Crush 12 was my entyr into the world of Orange. 35RT was the next fix then a microdark. Settled with a pair of 12" combos in the TT and AD15. Life is complete. Good vid man, informative as ever. Keep it comming.
My first experience with any Orange amp happened about a year ago. I decided to start playing guitar again. I bought a cheap guitar, I needed a practice amp. I purchased an Orange Crush 35RT without playing it or listening to how it sounded. I just knew I wanted something different than a Marshall or Fender, or anything else. I brought that Crush home and plugged in - my mind was blown! I knew I had found my forever sound. Now I also own a Rockerverb 50 MKiii NEO combo. The best amp in the world in my opinion. It all started with an inexpensive Orange Crush.
I have the 35RT (35 watt Reverb Tuner) and their pedals (kongpressor, gateway driver) and absolutely love them! Specially the Gateway driver is absolutely delicious, the crunch and tone on that are like no other pedals!
I own a Orange 20RT and apart from the backpanel buzzing when I play a low tone (in higher volume settings on clean channel), it sound ridiculously good for the price. I use Mini TS for a clean boost and some modulation action with EHX Neo Clone, or tighten the dirty channel for thrashy goodness, or just chilling with blues etudes with my Klon clone (EHX Soul Food). Right now building my pedal board, and next is probably going to be Big Muff, so I can Hendrix it out a bit. Update: got Triangle Big Muff for birthday!
Great information, I’ve been back and fourth about which Orange amp to go with. The effects loop was calling my name but if I’m just playing at home with my pedal board I don’t understand if there’s a need for it. When I get good enough or confident enough to play publicly I can always upgrade. Thanks a lot! Great content!
My first amp was a crush 35 to practice with. Such a versatile amp whether it's clean or chuggy. I moved on to other amps like the vox ac30 but the crush series has a special place in my heart.
Absolutely agree with your take on the crush 12, it was my first amp and it kinda took me years to understand it properly. It's a great little amp though, i still use it as my practice amp at home
ive been playing for 7 years- and im a total gearhead. I love tube amps, modelers, DSP, you name it. These are hands down the best tools for practice. Most efficient plug and play amps a person could ask for, and the price is incredible for its value
I love my Super Crush 100 head. I run the XLR out into a headphone monitor mixer along with a 1/4" out from a preamp pedal that has a built-in cab sim that I use as the last item in the signal chain of a chainsaw tone, and I blend them together to practice/record/fuck around while my 2 year old is sleeping. Lucky for me, the cab sim filter actually sounds halfway decent, and I can always put an IR loader to enhance it in the FX loop if something doesn't sound right. The tones I usually go for are usually just fine with the filter.
It's wild how great the Mini Crush sounds through a decent-sized speaker cabinet. With it's 9V power situation, I feel like it makes more sense to think of it as a slightly ungainly dirt/amp pedal than a toy amp.
Ive used exclusively crush gigging and home for the last 10 years - no joke. Perfect. I have a crush 60 and a supercrush 100 head and ppc112. incredible bang for buck and no one has ever questioned my TONE
Love these amps. I’ve tested a 35 and now own a 20, and I agree that the 35 is a bit much for home use, with a lot of volume that comes on fast between 0 and 1. With the 20 I can easily dial in a volume that people in the next condo over won’t hear, while still hearing the full range of the little speaker (at that volume my V30s would only be giving treble, which defeats the purpose of a 12”).
I like Orange Crush tones and the 20 and 35 models look interesting but the one reason I never bought a Crush, when I was looking at a new practice amp a few years ago, was pretty poor headphone experience compared to other options. So I bought a digital VOX Mini GO 50 combo but got really tired of it's headphone out. When I emailed VOX that their pricey combo's headphone out sounded worse than their cheap Amplug2 they said it would cost too much to add. Gave it away to family. In the end I went with an analog Quilter Superblock UK, the headphone out cab sim was very realistic, but also it's a 25W power amp. Really happy with the Quilter.
I wanted an Orange amp since 1970's Liverpool... and finally bought my Crush 20RT a year ago! It's possibly one of the best amps out there and the only other amp I'll ever want will be the 35RT. I use it for practice and small venues and the 20RT is more than capable. Sometimes I use a Tank-G unit into the aux-in... and that sounds excellent - however I did upgrade the amp models, including a Supercrush 100 - that's real fun for a bit of blues! ( The Tank-G's Fender emulation is just fine - so I added some clean AC15, AC30 and a Marshall 800 - and some more appropriate IRs including a Martin D35 and a top-of-the-range Taylor - and I'm now finding that 36 presets isn't enough!)
I changed the speaker in my orange crush 12 with a Jenson ceramic and it made a huge difference in sound. It was very mid range heavy and to much bass. Now it sounds really good and sounds louder to me.
Nice!! I've had a Crush Mini for almost 20 years, barely used exaxtly because of thát 4" crackle, but I simply never thought to hook it up to a proper cab... 🤣🤣🤣 Doing that tomorrow!!! Thanks for the tip 🤘
have had the 35rt for years. usingi t as a cab for digital amps and effects through its fx loop and it has been worth every bit of its affordable price. good tone crazy volume, and death metal capable.
Got an orange crush about 2 years ago and it's awesome. Has a brilliant sound. I also got a boss Katana Mini. Both great amps. I've got a spider V but it seems to be way ott for me and I find it more of a faff to use than my analogue amps.
It does sound really good. I was bitching about how its volume is a little awkward, but it surprises me with how cool it makes me and my telecaster sound from time to time, which my first practice amp never did.
I don’t know the guitar amps, but I’ve played the 50 and 100 crush bass combos a bunch, and honestly, they’re fantastic. They have the orange sound - so maybe you like it or don’t, but if you do it’s pretty hard to go wrong with them. Most other small combos are a lot better than they were but still feel like budget versions. These felt like just smaller orange amps, can’t fault them.
I always wonder how much miking an amplifier changes everything. I get the video making but most everyone does not especially when the smaller versions are purchase by us the public. Thank you for taking your time to make this video. It just doesn't make itself.
IMO miking the amp is HALF of the tone. Nobody records amps using room mikes. They're mostly recorded up close. It's the sound you hear on all your favorite records.
@@SleepingLionsProductions What I was trying to say has nothing to do with recording. I don't mike my amp at all and none of my friends that play do either playing/practicing in their homes. I was wondering ho much it changes and why would you bother to do it practicing in you living room. I wouldn't even know what you would be playing it through if you did mike it.
Found a super cool Orange amp the Rocker 32 2X10 stereo tube combo. Thanks for posting this video of SS amps. It lead me to the 32. What I’ve been looking for. Like forever. I could 5 cable this with my Boss GT100 because it’s stereo.
I had the Crush35RT and are are 2 things I didn't like about it: 1. The shared EQ for both channels didn't work for me. 2. The input jack is right next to the volume control, so if you're not careful the cable might mess with your volume mid-playing.
I love the crush series of amps. I love the no frills approach, much like quilter amps. I will always prefer a solid nad dependable analog solid state amp than a digital amp with a million options.
I bought a CR60 on Reverb years ago and it's still an incredible amp. The only thing is I became disinterested in the Orange "fizz" or "hiss" on the gain and the boxiness of the gain as I tried to get a thrash tone. I'm looking to switch to an ENGL or something soon but I would still highly recommend these amps to nearly anyone. Absolutely crazy affordable and still sounds incredible for what it does
When i started to learn the guitar, the first amp recommended to me was the Line 6 spider😂 i didnt even research UA-cam to find out its a bad amp😂 after a week, i returned the amp and got a crush 35rt...it is still with me.
I wish amplifier manufacturiers would publish proper audio specifications, e.g. THD+N, SNR, Bandwidth, continous power, input sensitivity, head room, etc, etc in the same way as hi-fi amplfiers are - that way we could make sensible compariisons. It would also be good to know the frequency response and power handling of the loud speakers. I agree about the Orange Crush 12, I had one for a short time, it was horrible, the 'clean' channel had significant distortion, can't really complain though because it is very cheqp.
I love the crush 12 - I used the one my school had for years, every summer and Easter holiday I would ask if I could borrow it. However near the end of my last year there (2024) it had enough of the abuse from the other students and died. I ended up taking it home to mend, my music teacher said I was the only one who took interest in the amp as well as that it was brought for £30 a few years ago, I was then told I could ether keep it or bin it or bring it back if I got it working or I could keep it as spares, let’s just say me and my grandad mended it ,I think it was a blown diode in the end, I still have it 🤣.
The Mini Crush is always on my pedal/pickup building & guitar setup bench, it's perfect for me to test out if what I'm working on is functioning properly, without waking up my wife or daughter.
Easily the best demo and explanation of these amps. Gatekeepers hate on non-tube amps but these do just about the same thing without the cost and maintenance of tube amps.
I've been saying this for years but tube snobs will try to justify their expensive amps by moving goal posts. My fave argument is "there's nothing like plugging a tube amp into a 412 and feeling the moving air" Me: "you can plug your pedals into an SS power amp into a 412 and feel the air move" Them: "it's not the same thing"
I have been on a kick buying old MIA crate and peavey amps from the time I was a kid. They are dirt cheap and I find they actually have held up well. some need some pots clean, maybe a pot replaced if not just the knobs.. I may get an Orange down the line. Always wanted one.
hold on a sec, would this also work if i go fx send --> modulation, reverb pedals etc --> then interface? (direct monitoring with headphones plugged into interface to hear the processed sound). Very happy with the 35RT asides from that i have to re-dial all my pedals when switching to and from headphone output! And I want to record with the gear I have rather than plugins...
I brought a cheap crush amp second hand for a cheap stereo amp to go with my vox. I thought the clean channel made a brilliant pedal platform and was impressed for so little money
After discovering the tone I liked best on a digital Marshall Code, I upgraded to an analog Orange CR60. I love the simplicity of it over the Code, and it sounds way more dynamic and natural than the Code did. I'm also only a home player (though hoping to eventually maybe play with a local community band or something), but I find the CR60 to still sound great at low home volumes for anyone looking for something for home use and gigging. I still eventually want a tube-based Marshall Silver Jubilee, but the analog Orange Crush series gets way closer to a good tube amp than digital does, in my opinion.
CR60 owner here. Do the amp a favor and replace the OEM voice of the world speaker. Most of the I use the clean channel and it has something that the original speaker does not put out, the clean channel has a really nice smooth breakup as ya increase the gain. The gain channel really opens up also...... I swapped the original out with a V30. Pick your speaker and go for it.
@@westernrider100 I swapped the speaker about a year ago. 😀I tried both a V30 and a G12H-75 Creamback and ended up keeping the Creamback. I felt the V30 sounded like a clearer version of the Voice of the World speaker, while the Creamback kept all the low end of the V30 but also added more high end while cutting back a bit on the mids, which I felt made the mid knob a bit more useable by adjusting the mids range from a slight mid scoop to a reasonable mid boost (versus the slight mid boost to a huge mid boost range I felt I was getting with the VotW and V30).
Last time I will say it I promise Colin: try an e609, it has a more full ranged response than the kompakt and its pointed the right direction too! direktion I mean
I had a old solid state analog Carlbro Kickstart 25 for a good number of years. Whilst still having it I bought a Vox AV30 for that valve sound that everyone raves about. It was good for while. I then realised that i preferred the less "noisy" sound of solid state. At this time i still kept the AV30 and sold the Kickstart 25. I replaced the KIckstart 25 with an Orange Super Crush 100 Combo. I was wondering with your tech knowledge is there any way I can remove the valve preamp and power amp sections and replace them with a JFET section.
I had a Crush 60 watter and honestly, it was one of the best things I’ve ever purchased. I traded it for a silverface Champ for my dorm room. Now that I’m wanting to gig again, I’m looking for one of those Super Crush amps. In your experience, are they reliable and loud? Cheers!
I had the Super Crush 100 in for demo a few years back - it was silly loud for the studio, so would have absolutely no issue handling itself at a live show when connected to a decent speaker cabinet. In terms of reliability - there is nothing in them that can fail, theoretically they should keep working forever. I've got other gear with the same opamps in them that have been going strong for almost 5 decades, the Crush will probably outlast all of us.
I've been playing a supercrush 100 combo for 1 year now. On its own unfortuantely both the clean and drive channels are very much disapponting, but when I plug my boss GT-1000's amp sim directly in the input on the clean channel, it comes to life and sounds like a beast 🦁so in a way it's a fail and in another way a big win 😁 otherwise the build quality, its lightness and its volume exceeds every expectation

STRUTTER! I was not expecting that!🤘
I'm glad this came up in my recommendations.
It is a killer amp. I run mine through a 4x12. It makes it sound twice as loud as it should be.
@@Burnt_Gerbilright? rehearsed with mine through a 4x12 didn't have to go past 3, and kept up with a jcm900 just fine in a fairly small room
OR15s are great amps!
I have to say that this is one of the highest quality video I've seen over the years since I was following ya. Take care!
I've got the 35RT and I love that thing. Swapped the speaker to a G10 Creamback which just made it even better.
Same here, own & love my 35RT. If I were to mod it, I would install an Ext. Speaker Out jack (I've seen YT video specific to Orange Crush amp) so I can step up to a 112 cab.
How did it affect the tone? Did u get aa more classic rock sound?
@@ricklee2619 It got rid of the hiss in the high end. Sounds way better than the stock speaker IMO.
@@davidpowers9023 not a bad idea! maybe I'll look into that someday.
My first amp was an Orange Micro dark years ago thanks to your videos! I never got the big crush head because i turned into a Marshall lover but the Orange solid state stuff is the best there is these days. Especially since all the other stuff in the same price range is digital and when those break you can't fix them
Played a Crush 20RT forever and I still have it, I think it's like the best beginner amp you can get, got mine for like 100$
I’ve had a Crush 20 for a couple of years and love it. As for volume, don’t underestimate the 20w. I never have it above 2 out of 10 and it’s plenty loud enough for me!
I love my orange crush 35rt, i’m an amateur guitar player who plays small shows so the 35rt is perfect for me, it’s loud enough to be heard even next to a metal drummer and i almost never worry about being too quiet, on the other hand because it’s only 35 watts even if i crank it the amp doesn’t impede on any other instruments so it’s the perfect range of dynamics for me
I have the crush 20rt, bought it almost 2 years ago as my first amp
35 rt is by far the best amp i got. i don’t see any reason to one up it any time soon
The 35rt is my first amp. Still my only amp. Great pedal platform. No need for a reverb or a fuzz pedal.😊
@@justVontadeh Great choices! I hope you enjoy them
I pair the 35 rt with my JC-22 for my wet/dry rig. The natural crunch you get from the Orange tone is perfect to my ears. And then the JC amp is perfect for any wet or modulation and surprisingly handles high gain really well.
STRUTTER: as a 40+ guy trying to learn guitar, I knew the Orange 35RT was the best sounding practice amps and has an effects loop. I was sold. :D
Ditto. Almost exact same story for me too. Just love the raw sound.
@ not a gigging bassist so don’t know, but it’s pretty damn loud. I do mostly covers mic’ing up my amps.
I have an orange crush 2.0 and I love it, lovely bit of kit.
Not gonna get on the soapbox here,
But I just want to say that I’m glad to see you back on the YT platform.
The crush 35rt is great for modelers because it has an effects loop. Using a preamp pedal or my boss gx100 through it is fantastic!
Been searching the internet on how this would pair with the gx100. Now I've found it. Thanks so much
@@TheRazaec welcome!
I use a late 60s Fender Twin Reverb for live shows and Crush 12 for practice. Boss GX-100 for effects. Great review.
Started with a 35RT and then moved to a CR120 with the PPC 2×12. Love these Orange amps, sound great, super reliable and built like a tank.
Best to have it and not need it than to need and not have it. If you're going to play live eventually, you might as well get the 35RT from the get go
My first amp was a crush 35 to practice with. Such a versatile amp whether it's clean or chuggy. I moved on to other amps like the vox ac30 but the crush series has a special place in my heart.
I have an Orange 60 rt. Love it. Surprised how good the clean channel is. Very good. I'm pleased 😊. Only thing is they don't have headphone jacks.
Brother, I learn a lot from watching you here, keep up the good work! Cheers from Canada!
Thanks! I've got a lot of great ideas for 2025 that should keep you learning. Can't wait to get started on them.
Loved my crush 35 so much I brought the 100w head, absolutely love it
Awesome, would love to see a comparison with other brands of amplifiers.
Manageable volume is important but also want to annoy once in a while. ❤
I have a Crush 12 and a Crush 20LDX that I upgraded the speaker on. I also have a Terror Stamp. I love Orange products. I recommend them all day.
What a coincidence! I was just jamming on one of these in the local guitar store a few days ago and now I’m buying myself one for Christmas
Strutter! And the lady knows its understood...
I loved my Crush when I had one, fantastic.
I absolutely love Orange amps. Got my rocker 15 terror years ago, and its one of my favorite amps to play ever
I own this amp and it actually SOOO GOOD! Might just be one of the best amplifiers released by Orange so far!
Doing that tomorrow!!!
Thanks for the tip 🤘
tbh I've wanted an orange amp just because orange is my favorite color. I got the crush 12 & absolutely love it.
My friend bought one and It sounds great
nice ! thanks for the demonstration :)
keep on rocking ~
have had the 35rt for years. usingi t as a cab for digital amps and effects through its fx loop and it has been worth every bit of its affordable price. good tone crazy volume, and death metal capable.
Got an orange crush about 2 years ago and it's awesome. Has a brilliant sound. I also got a boss Katana Mini. Both great amps. I've got a spider V but it seems to be way ott for me and I find it more of a faff to use than my analogue amps.
Ive got the orange bass amp. It's sounds sweet. Dont let anyone say orange amps are anything but good.
Got the Crush 20 yesterday, I can’t stress how full and wide it sounds with the right settings
It does sound really good. I was bitching about how its volume is a little awkward, but it surprises me with how cool it makes me and my telecaster sound from time to time, which my first practice amp never did.
If you open an amp demo with Strutter by Kiss then you get my like
I don’t know the guitar amps, but I’ve played the 50 and 100 crush bass combos a bunch, and honestly, they’re fantastic.
They’re are simple, solid, and affordable. Something Marshall doesn’t make anymore. And I’m a lifetime Marshall player.
Found a super cool Orange amp the Rocker 32 2X10 stereo tube combo. Thanks for posting this video of SS amps. It lead me to the 32. What I’ve been looking for. Like forever. I could 5 cable this with my Boss GT100 because it’s stereo.
Rocker 32 is a really great amp, solid choice.
I had the Crush35RT and are are 2 things I didn't like about it:
1. The shared EQ for both channels didn't work for me.
2. The input jack is right next to the volume control, so if you're not careful the cable might mess with your volume mid-playing.
I have the smallest crush, and I love playing it though a 12 inch speaker, it honestly sounds like a rockerverb.
Gr8 gr8 video information and amps.
Used to gig with a 35RT. It’s everything you say it is. Clean channel takes pedals well too.
Loud and Scientific as always sir!
This dude has enough integrity for me to trust his choice of sponsorship.
My fave argument is "there's nothing like plugging a tube amp into a 412 and feeling the moving air"
Me: "you can plug your pedals into an SS power amp into a 412 and feel the air move"
Them: "it's not the same thing"
I have been on a kick buying old MIA crate and peavey amps from the time I was a kid. They are dirt cheap and I find they actually have held up well. some need some pots clean, maybe a pot replaced if not just the knobs.. I may get an Orange down the line. Always wanted one.
My second amp ever was an Orange Crush 15R. About 17 years later and my main amp is now a TH30C haha.
i have always preferred solid state and my main amp is a super crush 100 with 412 crush cab it’s an amazing rig
20:57 You can technically do that with the 35rt by plugging the FX send into your interface... But it sucks you cant do that with the smaller ones tho
hold on a sec, would this also work if i go fx send --> modulation, reverb pedals etc --> then interface? (direct monitoring with headphones plugged into interface to hear the processed sound).
Very happy with the 35RT asides from that i have to re-dial all my pedals when switching to and from headphone output! And I want to record with the gear I have rather than plugins...
@@dogorman94 Essentially yes if you also want to include your time based FX before the Impulse Response filter.
The boss katana mini has an analogue gain and eq section only the delay is digital so most of the tone is analogue
Love my Crush 20
watching this already owning a cr120c that i love
I'd throw a hat in for the Micro Dark with a 12" speaker too!!!
Orange needs to include an impulse response for headphones. The Boss Katana is the only amp with a headphone jack that sounds like a speaker.
That KISS thig is nostalgic bigvtime. Feels good. Those solos were high tech. at the time, believe it or not.
Cant believe theres a guy with a manbun whos opinion I respect😂
well done sir.
On its own unfortuantely both the clean and drive channels are very much disapponting, but when I plug my boss GT-1000's amp sim directly in the input on the clean channel, it comes to life and sounds like a beast 🦁so in a way it's a fail and in another way a big win 😁 otherwise the build quality, its lightness and its volume exceeds every expectation
got a Crush 12, it sounds pretty good for what you get
What guitar is that @15:28? I like it.
It’s a Mercury from Valiant Guitars I think.
