One Little Slip still bops though.
This. This right here, so true! I still get the song stuck in my head lol!
Yeah, for what it’s worth, the soundtrack is actually pretty good.
I do love that song 🎶, only good thing in the movie 🎥
I love that song too! I also do like All I Know, it’s such an emotional song
@@BrianHullPlus that song doesn’t bug me but it’s the runt and Abby karaoke song I forgot what was it. But I compare to buck cluck to other cartoon Dad’s like goofy, stoek, king triton and more.
You know what would be better? Have Buck Cluck initially be annoyed at Chicken Little's acorn mishap, but maybe he's also be like "Are you people nuts?! Yeah he rang the bell over nothing, but was that really a reason to turn the whole town into a junkyard?! Give me a break!", then maybe a year later he has had it with this town refusing to let the incident go for a whole year, and maybe when the principal says CL is nothing like his Dad, Buck could be like "Hey! I don't care if he's nothing like me, that is my SON you are slandering! And for what? An incident that happened a YEAR ago?! He's a kid he doesn't know any better!" and maybe on the drive home, CL suggests trying out for baseball, Buck could be like "Wow really? I thought you weren't into sports.", and when CL says he wants to prove everyone wrong and make them forget his incident, Buck could be like "Son? You don't gotta prove nothin to those jerks. But if it means that much to ya..............play ball." and maybe he, along with Abby, Runt and Fish help him train for the big game. Also CL REALLY should've shown that piece of the sky to Buck. Or better yet, have Abby show it to him since CL was too scared to do so. Have Buck join the rescue mission, have him vouge for his son, have him call the whole town out for their horrific treatment of his son.
I’m gonna be honest. While I am heavily nostalgic for this movie, now that I’m older, I can totally understand why people despise it. It’s abusive. It’s mean-spirited. It’s depressing. And it’s insincere. Not to mention, the animation is ugly and Buck Cluck takes the cake for the worst father in animated movie history.
It really is and everyone besides Chicken Little himself and his friends are just unlikable jerks. Even the main villains of the movie ended up being such likable characters (they were helping to search for their leaders son)
@@zeospark9715 Yeah.
Truth spoken. We watched it as a child, probably more than once, but now that where older we see the movie from a different angle how everything in the movie is sort of shoved down our throats.
Chicken Little is basically a poor man’s version of Shrek with the mean spirited humor turned up to 11 and comedy deeply buried. And it’s still crazy that Chicken Little came out the same year with Blue Sky’s Robots, Madagascar, Corpse Bride, and Wallace and Gromit.
Abusive?? WHAT?? Thats new. Im used to see people saying how "mEaN-SpIRiTeD" the movie is, but abusive??
Yeah, the townspeople on this movie were mean to the main character, just like happened on Dumbo and The Hunchback of Notre Damme but you dont see people saying those movies were abusive or mean-spirited. The only difference is the fact that Chicken Little had a satirical tone, wich I LOVE IT.
As a kid who grew up with Simpsons, and some more "acid" animated series like The Fairly OddParents and the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, it never bothers me, in fact, this hint of cynicism ironicly made it look way more sincere than a lot of later Disney films like Meet the Robinsons and Bolt, two movies that tries to hard to be "wholesome".
And Buck isnt that bad either. Dude was already passing through a loss and had to deal with his son constantly creating chaos and putting life on innocent people in danger. What parent would be able to unconditionally suport and trust a kid who does that?
It’s Crazy to Think That This Film turns 20 years old Next Year
Adam west as adult chicken little and the “ are you ready to rock” with the “ ain’t no mountain high ain’t no valley low “ gun cocks “ “ is still one of my favorite things ever
I can understand why people don't like it. Yes, the writing is sloppy. Yes, the overall movie is just mean-spirited. But, I loved it as a kid, so as an adult, I can't help but feel a soft spot for it.
Totally get this! There's a ton of movies from my childhood I will always love, even though I acknowledge there's a ton of legit criticisms for it. Enjoy your soft spot film! 😄
Yeah, a small faulter line was crossed, but we're glad you acknowledged its faults.
You know a Disney movie is bad when Brian Hull, probably one of the biggest Disney fans of all time, makes a video of why he hates it.
The only scene I laugh at in this movie is the scene where Runt freaks out at the vending machine when his dollar gets denied when he thought it got accepted
Steve Zahn deserves more love agreed. More love for Bad Ape!
Yes! Go Steve Zahn!!!!
I agree, Buck cluck is the worst father of all Disney movies. He never tries to understand his son or have a heart to heart moment with him; talking about his wife and how can he be a better father; i think Buck never appologise for letting THE ENTIRE TOWN bullied his kid. Also the '' I'm sorry if you had to earn my love. '' is so cruel! The rooster didn't looked sincere when he says it and, like you said Brian, it was weird that he imediately follows Chicken's plan.
King triton was strict in the first Little mermaid movie BUT he really cared for Ariel and let her become a human so she can be happy. That was so kind 🥰The granpa is severe but a better parent than Buck.
He is not worst than Jim Hawkin's father, neither Pete, neither Kronk's old dude or other parental figures like Frollo, Gothel or Cinderella's step mother.
In fact, i dont think he is at nearly as bad as people say. His side of the history is completly compreensible, even through he acted wrong. He wasnt trying to distance himself from the kid, only trying to distance the kid from trouble and from the public eye. He clearly felt bad for Little but couldn't ignore the amount of damage the boy was causing. What parent would be able to unconditionally trust and support a kid who was constantly putting others in danger?
He spends the entire film apologizing to the people in town and getting yelled at by everyone for not being able to "control" his son who, as the school principal said, had been causing nothing but trouble an entire year.
Not to mentions he had a great redemption at the end, he realize his mistakes, felt guility and run to apologize to his son. Not to mention, he also team-up with the kid to save the world going facing an entire army of aliens with a high-tech arsenal. Again pretty good redemption!
The saddest truth about this is that Disney Animation has yet to make a better father-son relationship. You know it’s saying a lot when both Chicken Little and Strange World are proof of that
Haven’t thought about it this way and you are so right but to be fair if we want to see one there is simba and mufasa
@@jessicalamb8736 that’s true but we only see them sharing the spotlight together at least 2 times in the first half
There are also some deleted scenes depicting Buck Cluck trying to bond with his son while making breakfast. (I don’t think it would have been *quite enough to save the movie and make their relationship feel all that genuine, but it would have made their bond feel somewhat more believable than it ended up feeling!)
But nope! We gotta throw out all those deleted scenes that easily/arguably could have improved the movie, and just throw in every random pop culture reference imaginable!
Seeing Brian Hull be negative is like seeing a character like the Cat in the Hat or the Roadrunner get upset
Fun fact: Abby is voiced by the same actress who played Jessie from Toy Story, Joan Cusack.
Let that sink in. 😐
I didnt realize until now how similar Jessie and Abby sound. I've watched Chicken Little and the Toy Story movies multiple times, how did I not notice how similar they sound?!
@@Brayden-Wyatt Don’t worry. I know how you feel. 😊
Oh wow, neat fact!
When Brian looks at you like that, you done messed up!
People say at least Buck admitted that he was a bad parent and made the effort to be there for his son afterwards.
But to me? It just seemed like the filmmakers were saying to themselves “oh no! our movie is almost over! we NEED for Buck to apologise to his son outta nowhere”
If you already think this is rushed while they're trying to develop nearly literally everyone, The Emperor's New Groove has the most rushed delopment of any movie ever. It's lazy and everyone can write like this. Kuzco was such a jerk I was very surprised he wasn't a King Joffrey like villain.
I recently rewatched it in my Disney Animated Canon marathon on Disney+, which included my first viewing of Wish. Regardless of how empty and one-note Wish was, Chicken Little is still, for me, the worst animated movie ever released under the Disney brand.
9:37 The moment I heard that my first thought was "What?! They say insane sh@t all the time! How was I supposed to know this one was true?!"
I still have some nostalgia for this movie, so Home on the Range is worse for me.
Also, regarding Stoick disowning Hiccup in HTTYD, immediately after he does that, we have that shot of regret wash over his face. He stumbles back realizing what he just said. Most movies would never have that shot and that's why I love it so much.
1:03 as a Chicken Little Lover I can live with that much positive 😊, but seriously never stop not liking this movie Brian. I know to others that's weird for me to say but I mean it whenever I say I love your reactions of dislike to this movie even though I love this film myself 🧡. I both love and even appreciate your different point of view and it always brings a smile to my face whenever you are honest about how much you don't like this movie. I never feel insulted that you don't like it and you NEVER make me feel insulted for loving it and you have no idea how much that means to me 🫂🫂🫂. Keep not liking Chicken Little Brian because it's one of the things that makes you awesome 😎
@@shyguy3445 You dropped this your majesty 👑
I understand I don't like into the woods
I feel so bad for Mark Dindal! How was he involved in a comedic masterpiece like The Emperor’s New Groove, but then got roped into this abomination????
I’m just really hoping I enjoy The Garfield Movie.
Yeah, the studios were going through a lot at this time, it could have been a million things outside of his control that caused the movie to be the way it was. But glad to see he's still working and getting good directing roles!
@@BrianHullPlus True. Hi, dude! Thank you so much for replying to me. I love what you do! 🤩
Brain, you're not wrong!!! I have a love and hate relationship with Chicken little but knows it's not great nor worthwhile just like how some people can't stand hotel transylvania
You know Brian, you convinced me! Fish is still cool tho 😂!
I hear ya, Brian. Personally, I don't understand how a story about a little chick overreacting to an acorn falling on HER head, mind you all, that's HER head...needs to be turned into some C-grade sci-fi movie.
Chicken Little is so bad that it is actually enjoyable to watch and to talk about. To me, worse than be bad is being boring, which in this case it isn´t. A good example of bad and boring animated movie is obviously Ice Age 6
We finally get it!
Let's remember that Disney almost shut down the production of the early version of Toy Story because it was too mean spirited and edgy, but they didn't even care If Chicken Little is just as mean spirited as the early version of Toy Story.
Honestly, and I'm pretty sure this is fairly well known among film enthusiasts, I think it's Disney's fault that Chicken Little ended up the way it did. They wanted to ride off the coattails of Shrek's success and forced the crew to readjust their film to do so. So I agree that there shouldn't be any flack towards the writers, director, and actors who were just doing what they were told to do.
Buck Cluck may be the worst Disney parent ever.
I agree with you
No Evil Queen in snow white is worse.
Runt and fish carried this whole movie
The original folktale "Henny Penny" teaches two different moral lessons. In the version which Henny Penny and all the other birds were all devoured alive by Foxy Loxy, the moral lesson is to never believe in everything you heard. In the version which Henny Penny and all the other birds escapes all alive from Foxy Loxy, the moral lesson is to no be a "chicken", but to have bravery and courage, even when you feels like the world is coming to end. They could had united this two versiosn in the film in my opinion.
The idea is that the saddest part of the movie was the best part-when it was not chaos but just a little natural. They could have done it better if they had wanted to make it about a single parent's struggles with a kid's hyper imagination. If they wanted to make it true to the original story, they had all the cards; they did not use them. I did not even mind the animation so much as a kid. However, their eyes were a bit creepy to me.
I used to enjoy this movie as a kid and to this day it probably holds up being Disney animation studios first completely computerized animated feature without Pixar.
I used to love this movie but after many rewatching I didn't like how Chicken Little was treated as it reminds me how I was treated back in school so I was feeling guilty enjoying this movie as it's like I'm enjoying his misery.
He gets a happy ending but still...Also I thought Foxy Loxy's brainwashing was temporary but I didn't know it was permanent...
I feel like this movie has similar issues Wish had.
The only difference with Wish, is that it could've been great if they just went with the original concept and used both versions of Starboy, he was originally a Shapeshifter anyway.
Chicken Little could've potentially worked but I think the main issue was that the creators/writers tried to hard to make a sci-fi version of the Chicken Little story with parent child issue that the finished product felt like a jumbled mess.
I feel like the main reason anyone enjoys this movie is because of memes and jokes. Cause For me that's all I enjoyed a bit.
Meanwhile Wish had a great concept but than Disney decided to say screw it and go a completely different direction that pretty much sucked and doesn't work as well as the original would have.
Better than the live action Mulan
This movie is worse than Mulan 2020
Don Knots very last movie before his passing
Actually that was Air Buddies.
I have a version the song Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer where Rudolph asks for an apology. Makes sense
Gotta be honest, Brian. I actually love Chicken Little growing up as a kid when I was 5 years old, I don't mind the story of the film, I think it's a modern take and it is very interesting. I love the humor and most of the characters.
You can criticize the movie all you want for all I care, but that'll never change my opinion on Chicken Little. So there, Mr. Hull. I love Chicken Little and I can respect your opinion.👍🏾
i didn't know there's a original chicken little 😮
Are you nuts! Read the original and tell me there was aliens, three friends and one alien child named Kirby. I read the story before and it has nothing to do with the fact that no aliens, three pals (he is a solo chick) and no one alien child named Kirby plus his dad in the story was leader of the group
I always forget this is even Disney because it's so off brand for them
Hey Brian! I respect why you don’t like this movie, and I agree that this film had potential to be WAY better than what was released. There are more deleted scenes online that had they been implemented would’ve made a more cohesive and less mean-spirited product. A couple examples include a storybook opening that establishes that Chicken was sort of an outcast before the whole acorn incident, another that shows Buck trying to be a good parent by cooking breakfast and helping fend off some reporters that inform them of the movie being made. Another shows Turkey Lurkey giving Buck a pep talk and basically spitting his own words to Chicken Little back in his face, making him realize he hasn’t really been supportive, and my personal favorite among those is an alternate version of what became the dodgeball scene where Chicken Little discusses his problem with his friends at lunch (including a lead up to Chicken and Abby’s feelings for one another) which leads up to Foxy and Goosey throwing him up against the window and accidentally pulling the fire alarm. There’s also the original concept of the movie which had Chicken Little as a girl who enrolls herself in a camp to help with her anxiety and paranoia issues. Honestly, this movie had so much potential to be great! Which is why I still like it to some degree. I also agree with you regarding how the town never really is shown apologizing for their treatment of the main characters after all is said and done. It would’ve been nice to have something like Mayor Turkey sing praises to Buck and his son for doing what they thought was impossible, proving them wrong, and not really giving up even when faced with doubt and scorn.
Also a couple of things you missed in your review:
Chicken Little is supposed to be a pre-teen roughly 12 years old. And they do kinda? Give some backstory to what life was like before the acorn thing, Buck recently lost his wife, Chloe, Chicken Little’s mother. All we know about her is that she seemed to be able to handle conflicts in the family and was a good parent, compared to the flawed Buck Cluck. She always seemed to have the answer about what to do whenever something went wrong or Chicken Little had a problem.
The award for the worst movie ever of the year is… chicken little
"Dont call child protective services" Lol 😂 16:17 16:51
At least you respect other people's opinions, so you're not toxic at least😌
Well, compared to all other opinions, this is the only opinion that's actually a FACT IN DISGUISE! You know this movie's pro-bullying propaganda, right?
In my honest opinion, this was Disney trying to be like Dreamworks with its constant pop culture references and edgy atmosphere with its characters and how they treat Chicken Little (which makes sense given the fierce and envious rivalry between Michael Eisner and Jeffrey Katzenberg at the time). I too really don’t like this movie and consider it Disney’s worst animated film. When it comes to Disney films from the early 2000s, I’ll easily take Dinosaur, The Emperor’s New Groove, and Treasure Planet over this any day. Those are some of my favorites from that point in Disney history.
While I did love it as a kid it hasn't aged well for me. The problem is that it's so mean spirited to the main character not to mention the father is so horrible.
Dere's racks, dere's WHALE POO, n' DEN dere's you!
Chicken Little needs to come out to his father and say, dad we need to talk. What Chicken Little doing throughout the entire movie is just looking for Band-Aid solutions. It feels like in the baseball scene he’s just doing it for attention.
Let's not forget about the Bibbidi Bobbidi Bros podcast episode!
13:11 ok I do agree big time with you there, people still like him after sorta disowning his son, but they made up at the end though
Now really hearing and you talking about it on the bbb podcast I get it and I may not like it like I use to but I still enjoy it and I see and respect why you don’t! 😊
i find it more shocking that there's people who actually like it
as for Stoick, he wasn't exactly "worse" because he had the pride and respect of the tribe riding on him. his only son was already an outcast who nobody else in the tribe respected and at the time, and siding with the dragons was seen as the worst possible thing he could have done. He essentially betrayed everything that the tribe stood for over. It's like if your son came out as a supporter of a certain ww2 german faction and tried to convince you that what they were doing was totally okay. Even after disowning Hiccup, we visibly see Stoick have a brief "what have I done" moment. this doesn't make him worse, this makes him BELIEVABLE. On the other side, Buck was trying as hard as he could to have nothing to do with Chicken Little. while he didn't disown him, it would have been less cruel if he had, because Buck acted like chicken little was a burden on his life. He didn't in any way help his son with ANYTHING, and when CL revealed his goal of playing baseball, Buck IMMEDIATELY shot it down because he was the baseball star. Buck refused to let his own son pursue a goal solely because he didn't want his legacy tarnished. Buck is a selfish parent who cares nothing for his own son. He's unfit for parenting, and one throwaway line suggests that his late wife would have known how to handle the situation. keep in mind, the movie had a whole year timeskip at the beginning. CL basically had no respect from his only parent living parent and had to fend for himself for a whole year.
I would like to say that the Dad in Chicken little I can only sympathize with him a little bit. The thing is, he is a single Dad, and each single dad handles things differently. He doesn't know what to do because he doesn't have that extra guidance. If you look on Supernanny show there are some single dad's that just are not getting it and they sometimes let their kids do what they want and do not adhere to their wants or what they need. And when Buck is not liking that his son chicken little is going after the aliens chicken little of course hates that his dad is possibly going to back down from trusting him Buck is most likely saying in his head you know I want to gain my son's trust and even though this plan seems dangerous and unethical it's the only plan we got. We have little time before the end of the world and we have to try to save people as best as we can.
I love what you do
My brother loves the we are the champions scene
Do more of these.
Of course i liked this video, this movie is my childhood. Happy tuesday morning, Brian. Take care and God bless you. Greetings from Colombia to you as well.
I, at one time, really enjoyed this movie. I haven't watched it in a long time. I'm sure that, after watching this and being older than I was the last time I watched it, I will probably have a different opinion on it. There are still some elements that I recall enjoying about Chicken Little with some of them being the songs included and some of the voice acting.
Wasnt steve zahn the voice from sherman in phineas and ferb?
Don't worry, Brian, I hate that movie too. I can't explain how much I hate this movie.
You should do a review on the Ice Age movies because I really enjoyed them!
Not Gonna Lie Dude, But I Am 1 of the Big Fans of Chicken Little & I watched it back in 2005 on DVD when I was 6 & what I Liked about the Film is that they used some moments from classic Disney Movies & used them as References or The Animated Gags in CGI, Oh & One Little Slip Still My Favorite Song on it, Oh BTW I Still think you should Review & (Or) Do something on the 2023 short Film Once Upon A Studio which Features All Disney Characters CGI & Hand Drawn Animated cause I thought it was Great✌️👋👍🤩❤️
How are you even going to live with yourself? This one's active pro-bullying propaganda and YOU KNOW IT!
I agree with you Brian, I don't like this movie either.
I agree the animation is choppy, buck cluck is an unpleasant character to watch and nothing was mentioned besides some characters that can’t talk. But in the opinion, this movie should be like the original short film about chicken little but changing the villain like a human farmer or another fox instead of aliens. It ain’t no sci-fi movie
No problem Brian I respect your opinion
😊😊😊😊
Me too
Your face in the thumbnail of this video 😂😂😂 and you're not alone I do not like chicken
I have mixed feelings about chicken little.
When I was younger it always weirded me out, like, a lot, I did find things to laugh at though.
I feel nostalgic when I see it on TV now, but I’ve never really ‘liked it’ enough to appreciate it too much.
I grew up with this movie and loving it... But as im older i should probably watch again but i do see the flaws of it i wont say i LOVE the show but it is a nostalgia movie i grew up
To be honest, Home on The Range is the real abomination for Disney. I don’t care what you say about this Zach Braff Movie. But I can totally relate to most of your opinions.
Dude I'm sorry but you're a barnaclehead if you think Home On the Range is an abomination. CHICKEN LITTLE IS WAY, WAY WORSE.
Dude I'm sorry, but you're a barnacle head if you seriously think that Home On The Range is an abomination and not Chicken Little. 🍗

Idk why I loved this movie as a kid.
He gets bullied by the entire town. 😟
I admit I actually kind of liked this movie when I was younger. But after seeing it again, just a couple years ago, it sure has not aged well. And that’s putting it lightly.
I once said it’s hard to believe that the director and producer of arguably the funniest Disney movie ever made made one that’s much less so
I need a soda when I watch the video
As a kid I was able to recognize it was bad. I think it’s to a degree so bad it’s good sometimes, albeit in a “I can’t believe they sunk this low” way.
Others like Home on the Range are genuinely bad though.
I think the main four kids are likable enough though. One Little Slip is great. And there’s some funny jokes here and there. I also liked the McDonald’s toys and the first two levels of the video game😂😂
I was a kid when it came out. At that age, I consumed whatever Disney gave me. But whrn I was in middle school, I watched again and I realized how bad it was. What can I say that hasn’t already been said?
I will say one thing in its defense: the alien kid, Kirby, was kinda cute. I still like the scene where he and Chicken Little just do that little hi-five sequence. Not sure why.
12:38 I agree that he is the worst. I’m sorry but the scene where him and CL “reconcile” it did not feel genuine as it felt like buck cluck was still hesitant to fully believe in his son when CL was trying to tell him his plans on how to save earth. Definitely not a favorite Disney movie of mine
i just liked the music in the movie.
Two of the only things I like about this movie is the song one little slip I still listen to it and I still like the design of the alien it’s very unique and in my opinion chicken little shouldn’t have been put down for every. single. thing. I mean really, it was an acorn. The town shouldn’t have made a movie or tv show about him because he did something kids do . I mean really kids are kids. Buck is a horrible dad.
I... honestly didn't know Chicken Little was based on... anything, really.
I just thought it was its own story, not in any way being based on a previous animation
Can you make a video of why you can’t stand Antz or Cars 2?
Runt moves this movie up a little.
I like the black cauldron
I get enjoyment from this movie (mainly the pop culture references and individual gags) and go back to it occasionally (more often as background filler than as a specific focus), but it is definitely one of the lower grade efforts.
Well, you do recognize the movie's pro-bullying message, right?
It always felt rushed and they definitely cut corners with the story. They cut out great parts and sacrificed good comedy to make this.
I mean Disney was hurting financially. They needed a movie to be a hit, to give them the money they needed to keep going. They got it out in theaters quite fast, almost like they needed another year in production.
But, I gotta say....I love Fish out of water. He's my favorite character from the movie.
I would rather watch chicken little on repeat it is better than Wish or Strange world.
Even after Michael Eisner actively made the movie the biggest pro-bullying propaganda that ever exists!? HA! We'll see about that!
No can be nice about movies when we say our own opinions on everything we say
We honestly don’t blame you.
Cgi really improved over time
I will watch this. And I will not question my decision, because funny.
Growing up I thought this movie was about the Fish and his forgettable pet chicken…. Yea when the main character is so forgettable that the side characters are better characters you have a problem
What color is Chicken Little's tail?
Yeah, Chicken Little is pretty bad. The Adam West joke is kind of funny, but that's about it.
