I moved to the Melbourne suburbs about six months before General Motors station officially closed, and even then, I only remember catching one train scheduled to stop there (though I think I got off at Oakleigh). I'm amazed that any of the structure is still there.
The General Motors station made me realise something. People used to catch the train to a factory to build cars, and now Bombardier workers take their cars to a factory to build trains. Welcome to... the Twilight Zone.😁
@@johnalexander333 it is a co-actor. It gives the driver a view of the signal from further back due to the regular signal being obscured by the station. 👍😀
Back on the Bairnsdale again? I'm now obligated to watch these coming "chapters" right through. 😆 I suspect you may have done again last night on the empty working, which shall soon be no more.
Is Pakenham going to remain with only two tracks, or will more be added? The track structure seems to indicate the former, and the canopies seem to indicate the latter.

@@georgeheilman4243 I guess it's easier to just leave it if it is not causing any problems. 🤔👍😀

What is the extra signal on the left hand side at Berwick used for?

Could not get over the number of mud holes on that section of track.
@@archmcdonald6170 it could do with a lot of work being done to it. 🤔👍😀

@@emdB67 I need to get out and video the Bairnsdale locomotive run before it finishes. Glad you are enjoying the chapters of the Bairnsdale. 😀😀👍

@@00Zy99 as I understand it, two tracks are all that is planned for Pakenham. 👍😀
What's the maximum speed on the Metro system? 115?
115kph is the maximum for suburban electric trains. Sections of the Sunbury line are 160kph for vline vlocity trains. 👍😀
