So, Janet, first of all, loved your outfit! Too cute! Secondly, I've been seeing the number 111 for months. I finally get to watch my eagerly anticipated Columbia Falls video, and it has 111 views! I tell you, someday, hopefully sooner than later, I'll be your "neighbor" with the fabulous Ranch in Columbia Falls! Thanks for the tour! God Bless!
@@RadiantRealty : God whispered "Kalispell" in my ear, and I've been looking at real estate in Flathead County for a year now. There are two ranches that are big enough to fit the vision God gave me. Both are in Columbia Falls. I have to finish my e-mail reply to you. I think I shared the Ranch link with you. I don't want to say it here...lol. Shhh, it must be kept secret!
I have to say mudman is the absolute best burger ever! I have to come have a mudman every year!! Yes I watched and commented before but I love Montana so I watch the videos over again and again. I miss Montana!
Hey Janet! Great channel. You have a great personality and life about you. I used to live in Utah and have spent time boarding and biking all over the west. We are taking our first trip to Montana this summer. Looking to go to Glacier and Whitefish! We are staying at these condos on 5th street. I was bummed because we wanted to stay at this cabin and barn near Whitefish but Columbia Falls was on our list so we will ends up at this condo on 5th down the street from a NY bagel place. Curious what you think of the area? Hoping it's a cool gateway to the mou rains and also over to Whitefish. Thanks!!!
How exciting. I think you'll absolutely love your visit. Which month are you coming? Did you already get vehicle reservations for Glacier National Park? That area will be super convenient for your stay. You can check out the live music at Gunsight, get an amazing burger and beer at Backslope Brewing, and easily access both Whitefish and GNP. :)
@@RadiantRealty Hi, they told us to get passes for the park the day prior. We've checked and there are always passes or registration openings the day prior, even till late at night. First week of August. We just missed getting a cabin we wanted and ended up getting a place in Columbia Falls. It's a good location for access to the park, others spots, plus, Whitefish. Do you recommend a trip to Kalispell? I'm thinking we'll focus on GNP and Whitefish, outside of CF. We didn't realize you needed a vehicle registration. I've been all over from Yosemite to Zion to Bryce, Arches, etc. I even lived outside Salt Lake years ago to be a snowboard bum, lol. I've never needed a vehicle registration, so it surprised me. I happened to be reading about the road to the sun and noticed that they mentioned registration. That's when we researched and they said we should be good getting them the day prior to any visits. So we've been watching and passes are typically still available all day.
@@Bognerman14 yeah, the vehicle reservation system is new within the last few years. But, you should be able to get them the day before if you are on it. Your location is perfect. You will fly into Kalispell unless you are driving and Kalispell has the Walmart, Costco, etc so if you need those you will stop by but otherwise I don't think you need to. Have an amazing time. Do you have some hikes planned?
@@RadiantRealty Hi, we are flying into Glacier International which I believe is also Kalispell. I've seen en it listed as both. We do have some hikes on the list but unfortunately I am recovering from foot surgery and the recovery messed up by hip and back. So, I'm dealing with both. I'm hoping I feel up to a few good hikes but we'll have to play it by ear. I should be ok! Either way, will be fun.
@@Bognerman14 yes Glacier Park International Airport is in Kalispell but it is not the Kalispell airport which is a small private airport in South Kalispell so be sure to enter Glacier Park Airport into you gps when heading to the airport to fly back home. Well, even if you just get to drive going to the sun road and stop at the lookouts you will absolutely love it. It truly is a special place and a gorgeous drive.
Little over a year now I’ve lived in whitefish. Visited a diameter of great falls, Missoula and back. Montana is fantastic love it here but the cost of living is almost unbearable lol. Should’ve looked at your links beforehand
Hi. We are from small town Idaho. We are coming to visit this next week . We want to spend some $$ on coffee, stuff, food, ect. I know what you mean. Our little heaven is getting overrun with outsiders. We call them COWS…California-Oregon-Washington. Love your part of Montana.
Yes, I feel like most car rental companies around here only rent vehicles with AWD and the ability to downshift but I could be wrong. May be a question to ask when booking. ;p
Awsome vid. How cold does it get there around Xmas time? Thinking about going there for the holidays just don't know if it will be to cold for a Texan family...
Well, that varies by year and day. Typically lows in December fall around 17 and highs hang around 29 in Flathead County. But, it can get colder than that on the mountains or with wind chills. ;p
Kalispell Regional is just 20 minutes away. I'm not sure what they have for cardiac services though. There is also a hospital in Whitefish with more limited services. They are changing their name in the new year to Logan Healthcare after Logan Pass in Glacier National Park.
Thankyou for all of your videos! Very cool to see the area. My wife and I are going to visit kalispell for two weeks to scope out the area at the end of November. I noticed a crack in your windshield witch reminded me to ask a question. Is there a high percentage of animal accidents in that area? And does that lead to higher insurance rates? Thankyou so much. Love your videos and even more, your personality.
I forgot to mention we are staying at the resort on the golf course in Columbia falls. What is the typically weather conditions at the beginning of dec?
Haha, yes most people that live here will hit a deer at some point. It's not really a matter of if but when ;p Also, chips in your windshield are super common because they start using dirt instead of salt later in Winter and then in Spring those small rocks inevitably fly at your windshield. Maybe I should leave a greater following distance. That would probably help. Currently for 2 adult drivers and 2 vehicles our auto insurance is $101.77 a month.
@@josephlubben7658 the mountains will be snow capped...my favorite. There may or may not be snow in the valley, but it will be cold. Probably 20's - 30's. Bring a warm coat and cozy boots :)
I absoluty Love Columbia falls and the People. Great Place to visit and live. Was Last year 2x for a Job there. Thnx to Kelly Bar and all People of Smartlam.
Been following you for a few months now and we recently returned from BigFork, Kalispell, well, Flathead County. Was wondering about the the cafe's and the outdoor seating on the sidewalks, didn't see a lot of that. Figured that would be more charming in some areas of the downtowns, i.e. Kalispell, maybe because of Covid? But just though it would be awesome to sit outside and have a cup of coffee on some of the main streets. Thanks for any input.
Hmmm, yeah we have some of that, but probably not as much as other places. Each city has a place or two where you can sit out and enjoy the views and weather. :) Bigfork has Flathead Brewery on the lake there along with Saddlehorn Bar & Grill and The Raven outside of town. Burgertown across from Wayferers State Park and there is a bar next to Purewest Real Estate downtown and another little cafe by the river where you can sit outside and enjoy live music. In Kalispell Desoto Grill has outdoor seating and Sweat Peaks ice cream and Kalispell Brewery have rooftop seating. ;p In Whitefish Casey's Bar has rooftop seating, The Boat Club restaurant at the Lodge at Whitefish Lake has beautiful views on the deck overlooking Whitefish Lake, Firebrand Hotel downtown has a restaurant with an outdoor seating area along with the pizza place across from the middle school. In Lakeside you can enjoy outdoor seating and lake views from The Harbour Grill. In Columbia Falls go to Gunsight Saloon. My favorite for outdoor seating and live music. Just to name a few ;p
Montana native here. It's because there isn't enough nice weather days, and downtown barely has enough parking. There isn't space for most restaurants or cafes to have outdoor spaces. Also downtown Kalispell is double lanes on both sides.

P.S. What River are you driving along? I loved the mountain spring water available to drivers too! Awesome!

Great small town. Liked how you panned around in the town.
Clean air and wide open space. Great for a good telescope for deep space exploring.
