My wife has seen different videos of The Melvins. She has commented often saying "Why are there two drummers in this gig? Why are there two bassists at this gig? Why is the singer wearing a dress? Etc, Etc. My answer was simple. Because they are The Melvins. They can do whatthefuckever they want. That was all I needed to say. She will now ask me to put The Melvins on loud. Seems that the lesson was learnt.
Yes lesson learnt except that apparently you forgot to teach her how to put the Melvins on loud all by herself :) If my partner did that (turned anything up loud) I would be thoroughly amazed!
Melvins are completely underrated. Buzz and Dale are lyrical and musical geniuses. Extremely talented individuals. It’s too bad they were never given the proper attention by the corporate ret@rd$ of the time and picked up by main stream, but I’m glad they are still giving us great music to those of us who appreciate their art!
First saw these gents (2of3) in1984. Most recently in 93? It’s time I check in again. Tix prolly no longer $3…. Wish they were playing in their home state though (eastern wa doesn’t count).
