Hey girl! If you are scared of hurting your cuticles and OR burning yourself while filling down the excess gel around your cuticles you can try using a safety bit with a round tip in tungsten I find tungsten bits tend to heat up less and Makartt's are really good. They're my go to and i very rarely hurt clients using them (they're the only ones i use 😂) And also they're esthetic. Thats a plus But if you've been wanting to try them you definitely should if you haven't :)

Hi, I love watching you do your nails. They always come out so pretty. 😍 How long does it actually take you to do a full set of polygel nails? A few months ago, I had a fungus infection on my nails that I got from a salon, so I've decided I'm doing my own from now on. I'm currently trying the fiberglass method that LizyG does on UA-cam but it takes me 4 HOURS to do a set and that does not include nail polish 🙁
@@raneyclay5561 I ordered a kit by the brand TOMICCA. I first tried to make a set with the dual forms. I found it to be really difficult (the product was everywhere, spilled out the sides etc. and it was difficult to clean up properly...) and the undersides of the nail became thick.. So I removed the first set (and oh boy, I think i had my fingers in aceton for like 40 minutes and then I still had to file them for a really long time, since I dont have an e-file/drill). Then I had also ordered like.. regular nail paper forms, so I decided to give it a try. Although the apex and the structure of the nail might not be perfect, I found it to be a lot easier to build nails that way - and I have no previous experience with nails whatsoever. I have had on my nails for about 2 days now. Still going strong!! I work in housekeeping and none of them have broken off or any other issue. Polygel nails are really fun and rather easy, though I personally prefer to build the nails myself instead of using the dual forms, the material itself is quite easy to manipulate!

You’re seriously my favorite nail channel to watch. I am also wanting to get better at shaping my nails and can’t wait to see your progress/tips for that.

Hey :) If you want to hear some tips and tricks from a more experienced hobby nail art girl(10yrs) : get yourself another lamp, one with stronger led lights in it (e.g. the 'sun uv led' on amazon, I have some of these and they're 'cheap' but very good quality). It will cure your gels in 30 secs and you won't have issues with the black gel you didn't like. It's totally normal for high pigmented gels to take longer to cure - because of the pigments that stop the uv light from going deep into the gel. You could also double the curing time in your mini lamp or paint in very thin layers. If you want to place a decal without having to dry it up as much you can always take a lintfree wipe, wet it and place the decal on it until its soaked. Pick it up, seperated from the paper, lay it on a dry wipe for a sec and then place it on your nail. That might take longer but you don't have to struggle with pushing out water under the decal. Two coats of top coat over a decal is always recommended, to prevent lifting because of the soft material the decal is made of and the hard gel layer on top. That way you can seal it in better and make it last longer :) I hope my tips are helpful and you try them :) love your design, it's super nice!! I might steal it for my next set 🤔😘 xo from Germany
The issue with the Le Chat polish is it would cure a skin on top but if I touched it with my finger, I could make it ripple underneath, like rubber. Then I'd tear it off, and it was wet underneath. It was like a watery, translucent black liquid, weirdest thing I've ever seen. Almost as if the pigment and the gel separated during the curing process, it looked like actual rubber on top. I don't think the lamp is the issue, I tried curing it for different periods of time and same thing. I ended up reading Amazon reviews and it seems like I'm not the only one having issues with this shade, so bizarre! I do want to get a new lamp though. Mostly for the size because mine is so small that when I do long nails, I have to be really careful not to bash them when sliding my hand in such a small space. I've had the one you recommended in my Amazon cart for awhile now. And thank you! 🖤🖤🖤
I lovee your nails ! 😍 I wish mine would turn out like yours 😣 for some reason I use the forms I make sure they fit my nails but after I cure the poly gel and remove the forms my nails look skinnyerrr than my regular nail. & they do not last me for more than a week before one of them pops off or the tip breaks 😤
Love your videos! You inspired me to start doing my own nails and saving some coin girl. Keep doing you beautiful! ❤️ P.S. the music reminds me of stranger things 🤣
Girl! I have been watching 100's of these videos everytime I do my nails to learn the routine. I don't know if it's because you are a makeup artist and pay attention to details or are an educator or what (I'm a mua too!) But you have given waaay more tips, tricks, and information about the crazy mishaps, details of polygel, the cuticle issues, etc more than ANYONE else's videos! I have watched pros, nail companies, and so many and yours have been incredibly helpful! I've already learned so many tips and tricks to sidestep the issues I've been having just watching a few of your videos already. I am blown away that someone has finally mentioned some of the common issues and problems 'during' the tutorial and all the solutions, & also 'why' it happens. So many tutorials skip that info, or maybe answer in the comments or just leave their comments unanswered. You covered all the bases! Thank you so much! As you know, in makeup we work with our hands so I am always working on making my nails look great every week. You have been so incredibly helpful! Please keep passing on the little tips you add and keep up the awesome work!
They came out very lovely~ It seems a bit easier than dipping powder. Have you tried the no wipe top coat? I use kiara sky no wipe gel top coat it stays shinier longer compare to gelish. Also skips a step compared to the other on clean up after curing.

I recently did my first set of polygel nails, and i found that after 2 weeks they became soft and started bending, eventually snapping off at the tips. :( now my natural nails are so short

Now, I still watch your videos for information but on top of that, I watch them to fall asleep 🥲 it’s soooo relaxing! I hope this is not creepy hahaha your choice of background songs are just 🤌🏻
I am completely new to DIY my own nails. Although with Desperate Times comes Desperate Measures. Seeing a most states are considering nail salons as Non Essential businesses. I had never even attempted to try to do my own nails. I found your videos extremely helpful. It took me quite some time to actually complete my first nail. I definitely agree with you when you said that it takes some practice. My question is what should I use to clean up the stickiness from the poly gel that has seemed to get on just about everything? I am not sure how but the this a little bit of poly gel on the tube, the alcohol bottle anything that was on my desk when I was doing my nails. Also what should I used to clean the brush/spatula tool before I put it back in the metal case it came with. Thank you for a very helpful video.
I wanted to mention that sometimes polygel nails pop off in a day or two because the shape of the dual forms just doesn't work with the shape of your nailbeds. I wouldn't have thought it mattered which dual forms I used, but I was having lifting problems despite being thorough in my prep. I found some dual forms by Modelones that are more flat, and as soon as I switched to those, I had no more problems with lifting. If anyone is doing a thorough prep but still having issues with lifting, definitely try a different shape dual form (or you can also use a regular nail form or nail tips) Modelones has some Ballerina dual forms on Amazon that are more flat and I absolutely love them. Give it a try if your nails are popping off.
My problem is not them popping off but, snapping off where my real nail ends. Also my dual forms just start sliding around after I get the polygel in there and press it to my nail it starts moving off. I can hardly get it cured before it just starts moving out of place. I gave up after 10 tries. I started using the dual forms with acrylic, turned out great!
Prepping the nail is a MUST. To avoid lifting/popping off 1) Push cuticles back well. 2) Buff the shine off nail with 180 grit file. Don't go rougher and chew up nail bed! NO NO! I learnt the hard way. 3) Wipe the nail off WELL with acetone. Acetone is a great dehydrator and gets rid off all oils. Product will stick longer. 4) Use propanol/any alcohol to dehydrate nail more. Usually you get a dehydrator in a gel kit. 5) Use primer. Also usually in gel kits. Try avoid primer on skin. 6) Boomshakalaka. Apply product (usually base first). And there you have it in order mate, have fun!
I must say: (I am Quite picky and critical) BUT(!) YOU, GIRL, HAVE A NEW SUBSCRIBER!!! ♥ 😉PS: You 'stole' my saying "Do As I Say, Not As I Do" (expect I say it in Portuguese or German, 😂)

I hope my tips are helpful and you try them :) love your design, it's super nice!!
I have to correct the name.
It is (Dee- Cal) sorry but it's not a (Deck-el ) 😊 still like the tutorial
It's whatever I want it to be. 😂 Pronunciation varies. And thank you!
I'm a relatively new sub and I really wish you posted more! Your personality and content are right up my alley, please consider doing more vids?🙏🏻🎃💛
I thought the same thing about the music.
Can you make a video doing a French tip with the poly gel? I have found your videos to be very helpful in my poly gel journey.
They came out very lovely~ It seems a bit easier than dipping powder. Have you tried the no wipe top coat? I use kiara sky no wipe gel top coat it stays shinier longer compare to gelish. Also skips a step compared to the other on clean up after curing.
what i love about your nail videos is that you're learning along with us. you have some new tips and tricks every video that are cool to try along with you
Has anyone tried the other polygel dual forms from amazon?? It's the ones that aren't as arched .. #flatnailgang

Honestly, your videos make me so tempted to buy a poly gel kit and do my own nails instead of getting them done.

Dee-cal vs deh-cul is like car-mul vs care-a-mel but less known 😂

autumn roberts yea I know! Just making a funny comment relating to what she said in the video😊
autumn roberts Newsflash, certain words are pronounced differently in different parts of the world. There are many words that are pronounced differently in Canada vs the US. Caylee merely mentioned another one that differs.
@@autumnroberts3086 way to over react and make yourself look like a tool.
whelp, I guess it's time to do my own nails (even though they low-key don't need to be done yet) 😩
😂🖤
Literally me right now ordering a poly gel kit
I recently did my first set of polygel nails, and i found that after 2 weeks they became soft and started bending, eventually snapping off at the tips. :( now my natural nails are so short
Dual forms do not stay on my teeny flat nail beds 😩 i have to use paper forms which makes doing polygel nails 10x longer
I need to try those next! The dual forms make my nails look really wide for some reason.
Love the ooze... stroke of genius
Thank you!! 🖤🖤🖤
i seriously LIVE for your nail videos! waiting for my e-file to get mailed to me. 🤗 you’re doing amazing sweetie!
You make it look so easy, I got my polygel and it was so hard for me to do
Your music is always blasted 😩compared to your mellow soothing voice. I wish you would lower it a bit so I don’t have to adjust it when you’re not speaking
Omg! Your channel is amazing! I love your voice over while making the nails! I am sub already! Hugs from Ireland!
I just found your nail vids and I’m addicted...I love your voice overs! And visually sooo satisfying
I always say "dee-cal" lol. You are the nail queen!! Your nail tutorials are amazing and this one is no different.
Yaaay girl I love your vid they are so much help and you are very pretty
Thank you so much! 🥰 You are so sweet.
I’ve watched countless of your videos, to learn how to do my nails. You’ve been a Pilar to my nail upkeep and skills!
Now, I still watch your videos for information but on top of that, I watch them to fall asleep 🥲 it’s soooo relaxing! I hope this is not creepy hahaha your choice of background songs are just 🤌🏻
What is your lighting and camera set up? Plus camera you use for filming!
I used 70 percent rubbing alcohol to deal with the stickiness or acetone depending on what needs wiping down.
Try madam glam gel polishes. I love their gel polishes ❤️❤️
On it! 🖤
I'm gonna wear these all year around lmao not just on halloween, this is CUTE
Lmao! just started watching and omg I love your honesty!!!
Prepping the nail is a MUST. To avoid lifting/popping off
1) Push cuticles back well.
And there you have it in order mate, have fun!
the background pic in your computer so cool! ♥♥ hugss gurl
PD: The nails with the drops awesomeeeee
I must say: (I am Quite picky and critical) BUT(!) YOU, GIRL, HAVE A NEW SUBSCRIBER!!! ♥
😉PS: You 'stole' my saying "Do As I Say, Not As I Do" (expect I say it in Portuguese or German, 😂)
I come for the nail tutorials and stay for the 80s inspired music (very similar to Stranger Things). Love both!
Best compliment, thank you! 🖤🖤🖤
Girl I feel your pain with the diva cup. It ain’t easy with nails on. 😂
First off...
😍😍😍Your eyes are stunning!!!
And your techniques are simple...
Your voice is theraputic
Ok so I know this comment is super late but the frickin Dwight with a pumpkin on his head screen saver.....amazing!!!!!!! Lmao love it!! Also amazing nails. So beautiful. I just finally ordered some polygel from Madam Glam and I am sooooo excited to try it out. I've been using builder gel for the past two or three years, which I do love. But I've been wanting to try polygel for so long now because I've heard it's way easier to use. I finally purchased some yesterday and I can't wait to try it. Thanks for the awesome video and all the helpful tips.
