North of the Island, there lives a dear old train, A little tram engine, Toby is his name. He's quaint and old fashioned, but careful and wise. His coach is Henrietta and she’s seen better days.
This is pretty cool. I lived in Eastriggs for a long time and live nearby still. People walk their dogs near the MOD but besides that, it's shut off and isn't used nowadays. There's a museum nearby called the Devil's Porridge that has a train on display outside if you're interested. It looks pretty 1:1 but then again here is just fields and cows anyway haha.
Why is it always the British railroad locomotives that are so neat and interesting to spot out? I mean I love the steam tram engines and their capability to be such the useful haulers, even if they're small, square, and a lil' agile-lookin'.
But I am super fascinated with those types of trains and what useful iron work horses on rails they are. Now a lot steam tram like those haven't survived to still be in good service here in modern times, but their basis is primarily still an on-going premise for railroading enthusiasts to accommodate into using for transporting passenger and freight goods services to great destinations in terms of consumer, shipping and receivement operations. Mhm, what would I give to trade my job as a part-time UPS package handler to working on a nice private railroad line in contract to different railway companies that I would be obligated to lending my services in transporting all kinds of goods and freight to wherever it is they'll be taken to, with a wooden boxy steam tram of my own to drive day in and day out on the railroads. That would be something very nice of a dream come true 😌
