Maria (Art-Tool-Kit Co owner) redesigned the pans and the pocket palette a few years ago. You have one of her first versions. Her ones now are rust proof.
I use tube paints and made my own travel palettes from sweets tins and silicone ice cube trays cut to fit. They work perfectly and I mostly use water brushes when out. I make it work.
Gosh why did I never think about a pill organiser as a micro paint palette! I've been trying to find something in the UK which suits my purposes, and within a couple of minutes of looking up pill organisers I've found multiple options which look usable. Though that keychain watercolour palette looks adorable, I might see if I can find something like that
13:48 omg the tiny sponge it's so cute 😂 I Love watching videos just discussing palettes 😍😍 holbein just released a plastic palette similar to the first one you showed but has removable plastic large pans, and Mijello released their new watercolor palette without the paint so you can customize the palette
I have diff palettes but my fav is a ceramic cheese server plate; i squeeze out the colors and it has a big mixing area. my other travel palletes are limited to 3 to 5 wells. the micro palette looks good and can attach to one's watercolor jrnl. thanks for vid.
i can tell the wooden one is very well made. so nice~ though i wouldn't buy it for myself, i'm still scared of mold haha. aaahhh in love with the tiny little one at 9:38. waaaaaaaait... what the heck, the arttoolkit paletet RUSTS?!!! aaaaahhh tiny palette queen alice! 😆 great video!!!!
Great haul! I’d love to see you use all of them and tell us your opinions. Specially the ash tray model, the pill box models+ 3d inserts and the easel model and the similar one with no-easel-clic-piece (hope you understood my english).
@@eurekawandersyes, i took a look at your channel and saw that u used lots of them! Love your channel! How do you organize so many art materials? I’d love a video about that! Thanks for your channel! Cheers from Brasil!
Hi Alice. Do you have links, or know where to find, the AP Magic Palette, and the one you showed after the Windsor & Newton field box? Thank you for this video! I love palettes, too.
@@eurekawanders the one with the tripod mount and handle. Can't find that yet on aliexpress and can't figure out Taobao to UK, but still interested. The one that fans out too! I already have that one on the way.
Hi Alice. That is a very nice collection of portable palettes. Generally speaking I don't particularly like the "transformer" kind of palette boxes, because though they are compact they need assembling something that is not the most convenient thing when you paint outdoors. Open this attach that etc. is more complicated than simply open a watercolour box and paint. My own favorite ultra portable box is a 16 colour wooden one custom made by Charlie's USK Factory and another one that I've made myself by customizing a cigarette case and contains a minimal 8 colour selection. These are my two most compact boxes for urban sketching.
@@eurekawandersIn fact I have two diy palettes. One for my studio and one for my sketching ( along with palette boxes as evereone else. But I'm completely clueless on how to make youtube videos! Generally speaking the sketching kit must be as simple as it can be. I've even abandoned sketchbooks for outdoor sketching because I want to make my life easier. I use now a clipboard and loosed sheets of the paper of my choice and I hold the essential ( only the essential) sketching tools in a small pouch and that because that is the easier and faster way to access them. Loose sheets of paper are more convenient because you can put them aside until they dry and move to the next sketch, something it is not possible when you sketch into a sketchbook. You have to wait for the first sketch to dry to go to the next, or wait without doing anything in order to apply the next watercolour wash. Look...If you want I can send you photos of my sketch kit. Just search for Marialena Greek watercolor artist and you will find my website.Send me an email there and I'll reply.
Thank you for this great video! I’ve been looking for something compact and travel sized. I have a few things on my wishlist like the Windsor and Newton set and I’ve ordered a few tins and wooden sets to try out. I‘d love to see the two easel ones tested outdoors and see how the tripod version compares to the non tripod one
Thanks for asking 💙 Please do what works best for you. I am however interested in the wooden palettes you showed/Charlie USK Palette and the Magnetic Wooden Palette with the clip. Do you know about Jared Cullum (UA-cam) new channel " Watercolour Paintbox Museum"? I am especially intrigued by Joseph Mallord William Turner Leather Pocket Palette. New ones are sold by Peg and Awl/ I like the Tilda Leather Painters Palette :) Your channel is fun!
The paints in th tiny craft palette for your keychain are ctually not bad at all give them a try just spray them first they are pretty good ones, and the art tool kits now have rust proof pans you can get i do believe or you can enamel them yourself with spray enamel paint
This really hits my collector, *ahem hoarder, tendencies! Love me some fun travel watercolor palettes!

I see. The one that I have was sooo long ago. I am sure they have improved it. 👍🏻
Smaller ones and larger ones are available now.
I had one of the original ones and it rusted and she replaced it. I’ve had the new ones for years now with heavy use. No rust.
I use tube paints and made my own travel palettes from sweets tins and silicone ice cube trays cut to fit. They work perfectly and I mostly use water brushes when out. I make it work.
Oh silicon cube trays! Interesting. Can we press out and make blocks of watercolour paints with that?
Wow! I haven’t seen many of these!!!! So exciting!
They are!
The tripod palette link doesn’t work anymore 😭 looked such a good idea too
Othets that come to mind are the portable painter sets. I use both their sets. There is another called the clover, too.
@@dilipsamarasinghe778 there are loads of portable palettes. Thanks for sharing.

What a great collection, now I want to go shopping and add to mine😂🎨

I got one of the very first batch of portable palette so they prob have improved it. I read on their website that the pans are rust resistantx
They indeed have improved the materials. I’ve relied on a Demi and pocket palette for years now. No rust at all. I use mine pretty much daily.
I love so many in this video! Thanks so much for sharing. Unfortunately the links aren't working. Where did you get the instinct life one?
Unfortunately, all of these items are sourced from Taobao, and the links tend to become inactive after a short time.
i'm at 1:44 and i'm fangirling at all these small palettes! aaahhh 😆

😭I live in the US and many of the links don't work. Love the micro palettes with water containers.
That’s because they are direct taobao links and I don’t think they ship to US. 😞
I'm in Mexico and these links don't work either. 😢
Fantastic, Thanks!
Welcome!
It would be very helpful if you would please write here in comments the names of the different products. Seems you didn't list all in the info box.
Oh I don’t have all the information unfortunately cos I sort of accumulated them through the years.
Where did you buy the tiny purple palette? 😊
Please let me know where you bought those nice pallettes 😊😊
Mostly from taobao. Which ones?
What is the company that made the easel at time mark 538 I'd like to buy that one
The company is based on China. It’s called 亿摩多. I found the shop on china taobao but not on aliexpress.
That is a lot of palettes
Haha yes! It’s my new obsession
Please provide a link to where I can find the products from Taobao. Thank you.
