Texus Purplexus here.. so awesome ur doing this, I love it.. I would suggest figuring out a mic setup for your shirt maybe. Some of the audio was hard to hear.. really looking forward to your next one.. keep it up
Saw your v8 build through a video on Facebook which lead me to following you on Instagram to subscribing here. Love the content. Your cars makes me weak in the knees 😍
Why did you go with the F22 over a F20? Also food for thought, there are adapters to mount a BMW getrag 7 speed DCT to Honda K series, and trans controllers. 80ms paddle shifted gear box is tempting. There's a 600whp K20 powered RX8, vids aren't on UA-cam, but look up DKGECu on Facebook and there's some gold there.
Age and torque were two of the main reasons. I love the high redline of the f20 but lower mileage engines werent as plentiful. Add in the valve spring failures on the F20 as well as the better trans available in the Ap2 and it just more sense. If the budget ever allows a built k24 with the BMW DCT would be the business!!
Dont forget to say hit the bell for updates and new video alerts !! Looking good bud keep it! One of my favorite cars hands down! Cant not wait to see what you do in 2020 !!
Hi from Canada! Awesome video love everything you do. Really gives me motivation on my 86s. Wondering what battery relocation kit you used, if you have any tips on that and what colour white you used. Love your livery too keep enjoying your cars!
"Flosie" 🤣 its Flo's . Ie, as in Ireland ^_^ that had me chuckle! JSP engine mounts but not subframe drop judging by the trans tunnel? Also what final drive are you running in the rear? Seemed to bang through the gears really well on the dyno! How tall are you? I'm running a Evo 2 seat in mine too but not sure I can get it far enough back to suit my 6'2.
Man i really butchered that one. 😁 now ill get it proper. I do have subframe spacers as this chassis has been both rotary powered as well a ford 2.3T SVO engine. The trans tunnel was kinda hacked up before i got it so cut out the tunnel to make it easier to service and remove the trans..which is good since i keep breaking it. The rear ratio is a 4:11 and the gearing works pretty good for most tracks i frequent. Circuit of the Americas has the longest straight and im just about to touch the limiter in 6th gear. Im not very tall, in fact im about as wide as i am tall @5ft 6in and 250lbs but ill tell you i identify as 6ft tall 175lbs. 😆😆
@@joshiroku *insert "the more you know" meme here* 😅 That makes total sense! I've just began the S2k swap on mine (F20C AP1 with AP2 valvetrain upgrades, Arp bolts and ACL bearings, AP1 trans, JSP mount kit) and it was just a little cut to the tunnel. I've got a 4.22 rear gear in mine and the AP1 trans is shorter than the AP2 I believe, could be rowdy haha. I've been looking into a few different options for seat rails and it keeps coming back to Garagestar. Alexi (Noriyaro) is using one in his "Beans 86" and he's taller than me so sounds promising! Was it the XL rail you went for to mount the Evo2? Thanks for the reply dude :)
Wow its awesome you've been an enthusiast for that long. The channel is new but im looking forward to talking a little bit about the demise of printed media and of course i still own that very car.
@joshiroku been a fan for a very, very long time. I used to go to the shows on the Texas Coast back in the day. I just remember looking at your cars in the magazines for the first time being that no one really cared to much for these cars in Texas. The one I loved was your Z but yep been in the scene for a very long time following all the car builders in Texas. Now I drive a 06 Scion xB nothing flashy as it’s the family van. But nice to see you have a channel up.
I'd like to hear what you have done to the rear end to combat oversteer (my issue with my car with a 4ag and 225 rc1) Any 5 link geometry changes etc. I also spy a l series valve cover 👀
My driving style is a little loose, so a little oversteer is okay for me. I actually run a stock rear sway bar. But ive widened the track up front a bit and it does add stability. I run a 245 rear tire in a square setup or i have a staggered setup. Both run the 245 in the rear. This also helps. And good eye..that is a L series valve cover, ive has quite a few datsuns ive built and hopefully ill get the opportunity to go over a little background car history soon.
Your AE86 is super clean. I watched some of your older videos of your hatch with a 1UZFE. I have a GTS Hatch with a stock 1UZFE swap. Did you break any rear diffs running the 6.7 rear end? I currently have the stock 6.7 rear end. I was thinking about getting the Weir Performance axles but wasn't sure if that would be enough.
I broke a total of three 6.7 rear diffs with the 1uz swap. I now have a hybrid weir diff setup that has a supra 7.5 center section and 6.7 axle tubes welded in. It uses the weir upgraded axles. Ive beaten on it mercelessly for the last 7yrs. Ive even swapped between cars. I highly recommend weir performance. Im fixing to have another 6.7 lsd built for the f22c car.
@@joshiroku Thanks for the information. That helps me out. When you were running the three 6.7 rear diffs were they factory or did you have the upgraded axles installed? I'm thinking of trying to run the stock 6.7 rear diff with the upgraded axles and his spool kit but I want to make sure it would handle the power and torque since it's not the 7.5 rear diff.
At the time i did the swap the adapters and everything needed to do the rwd conversion did not make it any cheaper. I found a great deal on a low mileage Ap2 driveline so i pulled the trigger. Was just more economical at the time.
Hey Rafael i dont have the exact seat inside width but that info is available on sparcos website. However im 5.6inches tall and im 250lbs with a wide 40inch waist. I fit quite comfortably and with my harnesses tight ive got great support.
Your AE86 is Super Crazy!!!
Own it since 2003 ! Definitely a lifetime build. I'm still in the early stages of mine.
Nice!! With the price of parts these days it takes a lifetime to afford to build them !!
So much love for a levin coupe and a strong 2 Ltr!
That thing is clean!!!! Keep her in one piece mate
Ill sure try!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🚀 Super nice machine bro
I’m glad to see that more 86 on UA-cam
UA-cam needed a little more AE86 😁
Love the outtakes bro. LOL. Car is awesome. Can tell a lot of time, money and love have gone into it.
Thanks charles!!
What a great build!!!!
So stoked to be helping out on the ground floor of this baller channel!
Super lucky to have such awesome guidance

Very cool. I love seeing AE86's get used for something besides drifting (enjoy the drifting part too).

Thank you!! I used the battery kit from summit racing.
Love the car bro! Good to see more people doing quality builds! She's perfect. I wish you good luck attacking the asphalt.
Thanks BuffaloGarage!! Ill take all the luck i can get!!
Well done sir!
Thanks for watching!

love following your insta and keeping up with this sick ass corolla, one of the best built imo.
Thats really kind man, i promise to keep driving it in anger and chasing down my competition.
Fuckkk Yeahhh!!! So how much does it weigh with you in it? ;) Lol.... jk.. Love it!!

Thanks Warren!
9:52 I spy an L series valve cover, nice. Do you have Datsun as well?
Not currently but ive built several old datsuns on my mechanical journey..love them

When you broke your factory 6.7 inch rear diffs, what part of the diff actually broke on all three? One of the axles or the pinion gear?
Wasn’t this your rotary car, back in the day?
Yeah it sure is...thats from wayyy back!!
I'm looking for those bumpers and side skirts. Trueno
Legit ones will have to come from CBY japan unless techno toy tuning still imports them

❤❤❤❤❤
Tell me your fan setup on the scirocco radiator please. I just put that rad in my uz86 and would like a better shroud/fan setup. Thanks.
I use the flex a lite dual fan with shroud setup pn# 400-119366 with good results.
When's the video of that other white car with that baby motor in it coming???
Ha!! You know its coming....gonna put her back into action soon.
@@joshiroku can't wait brother!
How rough does a chassis of that size get over bumps, quick drops in the track, etc...
Depends on how good the suspension is. The next videos are actually going to cover these very topics.
What kind of fuel system are you running?
Gahhh!! Good question. Ill be sure to cover that!!
How wide is that seat I want to replace the one in my AE86?

It came along ways that was the gray one
Thanks kevin!! And yeah shes come a long way since the rotary engine days.
Good video but whoever is the cameraman is breathing loud asf
