    I've been dealing with this issue for 1 year and 6 months. I can't find my initial comment from 6 months ago, so I will write a new one, as I have an update. Back then I mentioned that last year (2023) these exercises caused triggers for me, which caused burning sensation. I had also mentioned that I started using a tennisball sized cork ball which made a big difference. Since April I also went to physical therapy and my therapist is specialized in pelvic floor issues. She basically goes internal to give relief to what causes the nerve pain, but I want to stress that the most helpful were cork ball exercises that I developed for myself:
    I sat on the ground, lifted myself up and moved one side of butt cheeks over the cork ball, and basically massaged the areas deep in the tissue that hurt the most. When the left cheek was massaged, my left leg was placed over my right leg to expose the muscles more to the cork ball. After a while I did the same on the other side but switched legs.
    After that, I got up and just jumped up and down to get the blood flow through all of that. It immediately relieved the tingling, itching or burning sensation. I kept doing this everyday for 5 months. Recently (May 2024) I also joined a gym and I go there twice a week to exercise my butt muscles. Today June 30th my symptoms are so minimal, life is as good as back to normal, I'm sure if I just keep doing this they will be gone for good. The cause for me was straining the butt muscles over a long period of time while working on a laptop, without any exercise. To whoever will read this, I hope my experience will help you get well again, too.

    Hi Dr Melissa, I have pudendal neurgia and have suffered for 12 years now. Nothing has provided relief other than some from chiropractic care. I'm interested in starting your videos but I have a problem. I can not get on the floor because getting back up causes terrible pain to my pudendal nerve. Most pain is in the base of my tailbone. Can I do these laying on my bed? It seems it's too soft to get the right position. Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for your time, Lacey

      Great questions! No holding your breath in between. Inhale diaphragm is descending and lengthening pelvic floor muscles and exhale contracting and lifting pelvic floor back up. It’s constant movement with the breath in and out.

    Hi Dr. Melissa, i have burning sensation in my anus and penis almost whole day. I sit almost 8 hours a day on my bed for work and recently I did kegel exercise last couple of weeks. I also did abdomen exercise by siting up. I started feeling burning sensation basically after these exercises. Do you think I am suffering from pudendal neuralgia nerve irritation? Will these stretching help me? I would appreciate your quick reply.

    • @DrMelissaOleson
      @DrMelissaOleson  Рік тому

      I always recommend checking in with your doctor for what’s best for you. In general when symptoms get worse after kegels and crunches the pelvic floor is too tight and needs to work on recordation of this system. Breathing and posture are key for this and we go over some gentle pelvic floor relaxation exercises in this video.

    Hi, I was wondering if you could with an issue I have. I’m very flexible, so when I’m stretching against the wall, I feel a little tightness in my inner thighs. But I also feel strong tension in what I think is a muscle (below my hip bone and a little bit towards the groin, I can feel its tightness with my hand). And when I lie against the wall for a while, these muscles get tight and I can’t lift my legs back so I need to lift them with my hands. I don’t know if it’s tight hip abductors or psoas or something else, but I feel like it’s contributing to my pelvic floor issues too. I used to be able to do splits and I only developed this tightness a couple of years, I think from sitting cross legged at my desk job. Sorry for the long post but I was wondering if you could tell what the issue might be? Thank you

    • @DrMelissaOleson
      @DrMelissaOleson  11 місяців тому

      Hi there! I always recommend seeing your healthcare provider for what is best for you. Sitting a lot can create tension and tightness as well as not having an optimized core and pelvic floor system. Breathing and posture are 2 keys for this and can contribute to tension and tightness.

      I've had it for 22 years. I gave up a sitting job and started walking regularly, and that helped a bit, but it still causes problems. I tried acupuncture, injections, read a few books about pain management, self-hypnosis, but they didn't help. I DO however think it can be self-caused, perhaps your body created it to avoid doing things, and could be tied to anxiety (John Sarno did an interesting book about this).
      It could also be trigger points. There is some stuff on the internet about all these things.

      So awesome you are seeing a pelvic floor PT so helpful for what is best for you! I always recommend checking in with you healthcare provider for what is best for you and listening to your body. Being careful to not over do with the exercises so of my clients do these 1x a day some 2x day some every couple days every body is different. We do have another yoga for pudendal nerve on our channel you might enjoy as well 💜

      First i would say stop masturbating and using the pillow. Masterbating that much is too much and is actually causing your problem. It’s cause you to over tighten your pelvic floor in turn is causing you to over work the muscles which is causing the problems you are having

      Also if you are still having problems I recommend the book “ a headache in the pelvis”
      Just listen to it… has very good information
