Got my GX a few months ago and have been following most of your videos to do my upgrades. I really appreciate all your videos! Many thanks! Awesomoto to the world 👍🏿
Thanks Kaisar! 🙏🏻 Glad to hear from you again and happy to have you engaged in the channel! I agree, what a difference for only $12…it’s a great first mod for the vehicle!
Thanks Dale!! I’ve been creating a parts list for the light build, but have a few other mods to do before such as a lift. Thanks for reaching out and it’s nice to hear someone with another 05!
The light frequency is what 7000K + ? It's over the top, but the OEM is too yellow. Like to see lighting in 5000K or 5500K. But it's still a good project for many - cheap too !
Hey! I’ve been following your channel for a couple of years and I’ve gotten a lot of help so thanks! Do you know where I can get new covers for the interior lights? Some of mine are cracking. 06 in Nautical blue.
Thank you for the years of support! I greatly appreciate that! 🙏 I think the best place to start is on eBay to see if you can find anyone sourcing those covers.
The cheaper bulbs on the interior are working great, but I did have the one on the rear plate light driver side crap out on me. It's very corroded and hoping that might be the difference between a premium bulb and cheap. Otherwise the cheap are great for interior.
Hey Brock! Sorry for the delayed response. I did install the map light bulbs and you can see that in the video at 4:30 in the video. The clear plastic covers pop off easily. Let me know if you have any issues.
@@Awesomoto Hey thanks for the reply! I guess I'm considering those the front dome lights. There are two little spot light bulbs that are just in front of those dome lights that are always on and shine down on the console. Were you able to replace those?
@@The_Endo Sorry for the late response! The comments are easy to lose track of. I did not replace those, but I believe they’re surface mount LEDs. It’d be cool to replace those. I’ll do some research and see if I can find the part number and make a video if I can find them. Might do red.
Egypt looked badass! Also you should definitely go wild with the vinyl, do something different. I just recently got an 08 and wanna wrap it but personally it’s just to preserve oem paint.
You just made my day by saying go wild with the vinyl! Hoping everyone votes that direction in the next video. Wrapping would definitely preserve your paint and it’s fun to change up the color too. Thanks for reaching out! 🙏🏻
Hey Carla! If you crawl under and look from the bottom side of the running boards you can see up into the area the bulbs are located in. You just reach up and twist the bulbs to disengage them. Check out the video at 4:45 and there is a short clip showing the detail. Hopefully this helps! Thanks for reaching out!
If you're referring to the small dim lit LEDs that are on when driving at night, I did not. If by map light you're referring to the two lights in the center which click in to illuminate for "Map Reading", then yes...I replaced those in this video.
@@Awesomoto I actually tried to change dim lit and found the bulbs were soldered on so it looked very complicated. but would take a good amount of time to change out.
Hey CHOPii, great question. These leds are still holding up great. I made a new video recently on the Lasfit brand led bulbs and I take out some of these bulbs to show how they’ve held up and compared against Lasfit quality. The Lasfit quality was definitely better overall, but I didn’t have any failures with these Amazon bulbs.
Hey FishGears! It’s very easy to remove the plate lights and there is no need for removing the door panel. Look at 4:57 in the video and you can see that part of the process.
Do you happen to know of a similar, valid light kit for a 2010 GX460? I am having trouble finding it other than a couple options on Amazon with 2-3 reviews that make me skeptical if they work.
Hey Jonathan! Great question. I've done some research and found this kit that looks like it'll fit your needs with 89 reviews with a total four star average. Hope this helps!
Would have loved an explanation of how he is prying off the lenses to avoid breaking things, instead of music over sped up video. His other videos have been really helpful, this one not so much.
Tbh its pretty straight forward. I used a butter knife for everything. Just pry the lense down then u can pry the back side and they will both come off. To install fast you should put the bulbs in and snap the lenses on bottom piece before installing . Then you put it back together.
lol waited half way thru the video for you to rush and not explain each step of the way. All the talking you did the first half was completely useless. Weak video.
Agreed, I've learned a lot since this old video. Still learning as I go, but you can't progress until you put out content and fine tune as you learn more. Thanks for the kind comment though.
I did this based off your video. It looks great and made a huge difference to the look of the vehicle at night.
That's the kind of feedback I love to hear! It's a huge difference and such an affordable upgrade!
900 subs 🎉🎉 congrats man! The Egypt trip looks wild
Thanks Max! Also a big thank you for providing the awesome music for the channel from the start! 🙏🏻
Thank you man ! I did mine today & I didn't know I could switch out the Running board lights ! Great video as always ! 👍🏻😆❤
Of course! Thanks for watching!

You're killing it! Great job and that was one of the first upgrades I did and makes a major difference for a $12 purchase

Just did it. Super easy! Love it
Love to hear it!
Wow! Big lighting transformation! Makes took much newer! Where did you get all of your automotive and technical skills? More vids!!
Awesome video. Can’t wait to see the new lights once it is completed. Thanks for your great videos and I have an 05 GX also.

I agree with you. The 7000K is too white and something in the 5500K would be a little easier on the eyes.

How are the cheaper bulbs holding up after a year. They are $150 for a set of "premium" bulbs
The cheaper bulbs on the interior are working great, but I did have the one on the rear plate light driver side crap out on me. It's very corroded and hoping that might be the difference between a premium bulb and cheap. Otherwise the cheap are great for interior.
Did you skip the map light bulbs? I didn't see if you had to take that entire plastic assembly off to get to them.

was 1 box enough?
Yes, one box covered them all with two spares.
How are you able to tell which led went to what lol
lol great question. I basically eyeballed the led style to the one it replaced and it was very obvious based on size to tell them apart.
How did you change running board lights?

Hi, did you ever chnage out the map lights?

@@vangwizard I recommend Lasfit any day. The quality of the bulbs were drastically better and will last longer due to that.
I want to do that to my GX. How many packs did u buy?
Hey W/DUB! I only bought one pack and it covered everything.
How easy is it to remove the license plate lights? Most video I see they do it by removing the inside panel of the swing out door.

Love the vids. I also have an 05 GX. Did you need to use any special pry tools for the light swap?
Thanks Lawrence!🙏🏻
I just used a small flat head screwdriver to take the face plates off. A plastic pry tool would work too.
Would have loved an explanation of how he is prying off the lenses to avoid breaking things, instead of music over sped up video. His other videos have been really helpful, this one not so much.
That's fair lol. I've progressed in my video creation since this post and hopefully I don't repeat some of these older atrocities.
