I have that camera's uncle. A 1927 Voigtlander Rollfilmkamera. The name is simple because that was the only roll film model Voigtlander offered that year. It's scale focus, but the Skopar-Anastigmat lens is every bit as good as the later ones (if a little slower). There were no format masks in 1927, the lens isn't "self-erecting" like that one -- but it can make *awesome* images if you pay attention and know what you're doing. If I need a rangefinder for 6x9 (or 6x6 in the same camera) I pull out my 1959 Moskva 5. Or I grab my 1950s vintage Century Graphic, which can shoot 6x4.5, 6x6, 6x7, or 6x9 with various roll film backs, or 2x3 sheet film in either double side film holders or a six-shot Grafmatic quick-change sheet film magazine.
It's an amazing number 11 yellow fold away filter that helps add contrast and separation in the sky. Most of these were lost during the last 86 years but this model has it all intact.
Yeah it is really mint and just had a CLA- still having the yellow filter attached was a nice touch. I have owned also a 1953 version with coated optics and a single viewfinder BUT I much prefer this versions for so many reason…
I’ve got a minty non rangefinder Bessa . It has the Skopar lens ,still a very nice camera . Rangefinder and Heliar lens prices have become astronomical !😟😟😟
The APO Lanthar are cray $$$- there are some very nice mid 1930 with Heliar for like 500 which is quite good and one of my favorite cameras- the Lanthar is for collectors--
@@FIGITALREVOLUTION to some extent yes, but saying a Heliar is a Tessar is like saying a Tessar is an Anastigmat lens 🙂 I believe also the Heliar has cemented elements when the Tessar has air space.

I’ve never seen The yellow front lens element before

It’s the camera I’m looking out for. Voigtlander made some wonderful cameras. I’ll be lucky to find one in that condition, it looks immaculate!

I never knew that, it's still a gem for sure!
It’s an amazing camera!
Beautiful, I have my Vito ii , I used just one time with ultrafine extreme 400, and get excellent results ..
My pocket Kodak is from 1913. I thought the lens area had rust on it. Nope. Just tiny fibers from the leather case. Takes 127 film.
Nice! And 127 is still available but kinda $$-- happy shooting!
I love folders
Me too!
Just need to find one that looks like that!

Very nice camera. Always wanted one, but never got across a nice one. I do have a Perkeo in pretty nice shape though.
I love folding cameras!
Dont you mean Heliar lens rather than Tessar?
The Helier is a Tessar design- just a different name as it was made my Voigtlander but to Zeisses specifications….

@@toulcaz31 they are the same design. Optically they are the same. Cemented or not they are both a Tessar design…
I prefer the TELKA III, much better.
Whatever you like is best for you.
