Honestly not sure what the opponent was thinking there tbh. It's like a 50/50 to get frozen if they were trying to recover until deoxys die to life orb recoil, and even in the absolute best case scenario, sableye at 56% still gets revenged by mence or groudon. Maybe I'm just not seeing the line but it doesn't seem worth it to give up a 50% chance to lose on the spot for a few HP on sableye in that position.
It’s because his gameplan isn’t necessarily to go for a freeze, but to keep sableye as low as possible by sacking Deo-A. The outcome stays in his favor whether or not he freezes the sab, freezing the sab just adds another level of reward to his play

As soon as I saw Mega Sableye recovering in front of ice beam I knew there'd be a freeze. You cannot tempt rng like that. After 4 ice beams the chance to get a freeze is ~1/3
The odds of deoxys breaking through were like 60% factoring in crits and the fact that it still had ice beam turns left
Without getting a Willow or Toxic off, I'm not sure his opponent stood a chance against rocks+Deox.. was a lil surprised he gave up his Blissey when he did.

@DesdemonaLatias ye I always call stall the "skill check" because it really does require a high amount of skill to break down. it's also not "braindead easy" to play but I guess people wouldn't know that if they only played HO lol

now im not a gen 6 uber world cup player but i dont really get why in a gen without boots you would rely on magic bounce for hazard control on a stall team of all things. i doubt mold breaker is something to look out for lol but even without that what happens if the rocker has a move to hit sableye? and what happens in the lead matchup if you haven't mega'd sableye yet you just lose coz of the rocks now. im assuming lugia or giratina had defog but even freezai's fairly standard team put on too much pressure for them to click it so the team just seems flawed to me

This is why I don't mind forcing Recover spam with 100% accurate moves, worse comes to worse you deplete their pp, but in this scenario you're decently likely to freeze
The chance of not freezing once after 7 ice beams is 47%, and 53% for 6 Ice Beams.
In other words from the 7th ice beam onwards it's in your favour.
Any reason why the opponent used Blissey over Chansey? With no Heavy Duty Boots I thought Chansey would be better but I'm not familiar with this tier. Does it check Kyogre better?
in ubers you need shed shell to avoid getting trapped
Its so Mega Gengar doesnt set up on your passive mon. Since Bliss/Chanseys main progress is Toxic or Seismic Toss (which Gen is immune too)
also ogre isn’t relevant in ubers anyway and the ogres is ubers are always usually some mixed attacker so blissey doesn’t even beat ogre

Gen 6 Ubers is one of my favorite tiers. It’s still Ubers, so there’s tons of offense, but balance/stall builds are still really powerful.
I don’t think you got outplayed - you got as many turns right as he did, and he had to play near perfect and also get good luck to guarantee a win. Like, had you stone edged on Lugia, had he missed Toxic on Don, etc, feels like you would’ve won on the spot.

I don't think you really got outplayed tbh. You did as well as you could against garbage stall. Your team into them was really good though which helped. Once Blissey was broken they had no counter to your offense. Freeze mattered sure but Sab would've been at roughly 50% if not frozen and that's still a kill for Mence. Crit on Lugia just sped up the inevitable. They had no way to hold off all of the offense.

White gets a massive +4% win-rate boost by saying glhf if black responds. Honestly should be banned, even if most players opt for handshake instead.
I don't have the stats for gen 6 ubers, but gen 8 & 9 OU both have a +2-3% WR for whoever says glhf if the other player responds. Gotta be careful out there.

Stall has gotten weaker in the current gen with offense being overall much stronger why make it even worse? Look at the healing move nerfs, hazard removal being impossible & just how many pokemon lost access to toxic vs just how many powerhouses were added this 😅
Stall has gotten weaker. But still id like more penalties for running it. I also feel like auto terrain and weather should have reduced turns . Like 3 max and 6 with extension. It would for moves like u turn and Memento otherswise the effect will only last for 1 turn or like 5.

Sometimes the stall player just isnt good. My idea was just for the average player who doesn't wanna get walled by protect toxic wish recover foul play 😅
