I do a stage as fast as I think is possible. Then I see I’m 1.5 minutes behind everyone else and can’t understand how. Then I see this video and I understand.
I think setups play a big part. I can usually take about 10 seconds off my best time by playing with the transmission and suspension. Someone who knows what they're doing can probably make that a lot more.
setups and cuts on most stages make high times hard. as well, the game has a very large and extremely unrealistic limit so you can take some 90 degree corners in fourth or fifth sometimes; which, most people would never try to do.
AFAIK Blomqvist drove the quattro (first iteration, not this upgraded one) with a manual transmission AND way more turbo lag due to the different setup turbo. That's just insane!
@@prince-solomon That doesn't mean she can't stream lol. Look at Lando Norris, or Charles Leclerc. Its a great way to build a relationship with your fan base and come across as more than just a "driver". He isn't commanding her to do it, but merely ask
You know just when I thought I was getting kinda decent at Dirt Rally 2 a cookie and cars vid is uploaded and I feel like a scrub again. There's just something so visceral about watching skilled rally drivers, whether in a sim or IRL. The car goes from being a machine helmed by a human to some sort of wild animal, acting on instinct and bloodlust. I dunno how these folks do it though. I've been playing sim racing casually for about a year and am pumped by how far my skills have come, but goddamn you see stuff like this and realize the sky's the limit on racing sim skills. I don't know about you guys but I'd appreciate seeing the third person replay on these vids after the stage.

I have always ignored racing games but I picked up this game with every DLC for $10. I haven't really enjoyed a video game in years. This game is so fun it's stupid. Even on keyboard it's ridiculously enjoyable. Your videos make me want to upgrade lol and I learn a lot just by watching you. Great channel.
Merry Christmas! 🎄Thanks for uploading this video, despite the sticky throttle issue. Excellent entertainment, as always. I hope you get the change to show your skills on the tarmac or gravel again soon!
Plz make a video about your sim rig ... What steering wheel, specs of your pc and estimated price. What's your opinion and what do you want to improve. Would very appreciate it.
I feel like the group b cars understeer more in DR 2.0 than in the first game. I really wish they would include some kind of dogbox simulation to let you do clutchless shifts with h-pattern+clutch.
you can cant you? just set it in the game options to h pattern (no clutch) but leave clutch override to on in preferences or wherever. that way you dont need the clutch to shift, but can still use it to prevent turbo lag and do some good old fashioned clutch kicking when you need it. i always use h pattern + clutch. but im pretty sure what i said above would work. and i assume its pretty much what you were asking? if im wrong, all good.
I was about to wonder why you're wearing those wee antlers in bloody April, just thought to myself "alright hen? Lol she's a rocket in either sense of the word
Hey Louise, that was by far the best management I've seen from you in DR2. Can't imagine the heart in the throat moments when there's a wall approaching at the kinds of speeds the Group B cars get to. A sim racing organisation I'm part of has just started running leagues in DR2, as well as some talk of WRX events, if you'd enjoy pacing against some non-pro's ;)
omfg why this track is so damn TIGHT? and the tire model is so it's so slippery on the asphalt it's almost impossible to drive in the snow ... these Codemasters folks must be sadists!
Awesome driving. After watching one of your previous videos, I decided to try Dirt Rally 2. Sadly, the game sees my Fanatec hardware but refuses to register any input when I try to drive. I just sit at the start line with no response from my wheel or pedals. Might be a good thing in a way since I’ll most probably crash within a couple of corners anyway. I’ll stick to iRacing for now until I get this issue figured out.
Hey great video, I thought I was good at the game then saw this.. quick question, does using the wheel instead of a controller make things that much better in controlling the car and getting better times?
No margin for error whatsoever. Can't believe the way you're sending it into every turn... Looks out of control, but it isn't... Rally drivers are nuts!!!
Monte Carlo + icey road + 500 bhp Group B Car is a recipe for disaster but somehow this person manages to skrrt skrrt through the stages like a typical Sunday morning ride

heh. i can never be fast because of how dirt 2.0 lags while playing on my laptop.
If in doubt: flat out
This is really impresive, the fact that you managed to handle the turbo lag of this car is amaizing. I always end up on top of a tree

Turbo lag? 🤣👑
@Marc Willis AFAIK the second iteration quattro with sequential gearbox had that antilag system whereas the one that won in 84 didn't.
Cook does it all so effortlessly too. Like she's brushing her teeth or just pouring a cup of tea 😄🤙

How you manage to find enough grip on the snowy roads to just send it and counter-steer out at those speeds is amazing. 🤯Bravo!
For me it helped a lot to make more negative cambers, and soften the suspension
