The green axes aren't an issue; it's the red ones that have a slight homing capability that're a problem. Also remember if a monster's semi-transparent, stuff like the Crystal Wand, Phoenix Rod, or Firemace won't work on it.
Heretic: Shadow of the Serpent Riders ( 1996), which was the Heretic with 5 episodes. That's the better one. The one that was relased in 1994 had 3 episodes.
@@npc_blob1609 They do not suck, they're just TNT:Evilution in Heretic. That's just slaughtermaps with mostly wide open areas, they are hard, but not impossible though.
@@themetalcatacombs3790 That's not what a slaughtermap is. The problem isn't the difficulty although it definitely wasn't polished well there. The levels are just sloppily put together.
@@npc_blob1609 I can agree with that, though. Anyways I think they were made just in the course of little time. Like the whole Final Doom was made that way, what made it ridicolously unfair to complete and sloppy in design. I think Maulotaur in the first level is kinda hardcore, is what Plutonia should sound like. I feel like gameplay balance and logical construction of both episodes just long forgotten.
It's a shame the Doom engine expansions of the day didn't add anything new besides levels. Doom, Heretic, HeXen... no new textures*, enemies, powerups or bosses. GZdoom mods nowadays fill that void, sure, but back when it wasn't until the Quake engine stuff where expansion packs would add new weapons, baddies and items. *Yes I am aware that Final Doom DID have replacement textures, at least. But I'd rather have a good Romeo-type use of Startan stuff anyday.
"AH-hAh-hAh-hAa!"
Those sighing zombies that throw axes at you...HATE 'EM!
Undead Warriors. They're actually pretty weak against the Ethereal Crossbow. Dodge the red axes for sure!
I always thought they were skeleton creatures, like mix between a revenant and Skeletor. They were pretty easy.

The best song in game for years 😍
Agree. Music from Cesspool level too!

Shame the new levels in Serpent Riders all suck

Who also heard this in "The Halls of Fear" and (this is for the EP only) "Blockhouse"?
The best sountrack in this game
