I was a cop in Oregon when Hines and D'Onofrio were making a movie in my town. There were about 5 of us assigned to traffic control and it was a grueling day. At lunch time the staff invited us to eat with them along with others in support roles. We had gathered out of the way of the stars and staff. Soon Hines came over to us and engaged us in conversation while he puffed on a cigar. What a truly great talent, conversationalist, and mostly a down to earth man. I loved him for that. Watching this made me misty eyed as my memories came back. God bless his children and I hope they know what a great man he was.
Boomers are a different breed.
He led the dance sequences in “White Nights”. His natural grace and precision is beyond compare. Thank you for another great show!
Remember it well! I found inspiring!❤
Gregory Hines was one very talented man, whether it be dancing or acting. Gone way too soon.
🙏 RIP GREGORY HINES 🙏
Oh Man I really Miss him. what a fantastic dancer , Actor. ALL HEART !
We'll not see anyone like this again. RIP
A fine tribute Steve, nicely done. The last time I saw him was on Will & Grace, and then suddenly he was gone. This ones a REAL sad ending. 😔
He seemed like such a nice guy. It makes me wonder why things happen like they do.
I didn't know he passed. These people are so young. Cancer is not prejudice against anyone.
Talent like that doesn't seem to come around anymore. He was one of the very best! ❤
What an amazing talent! That dance scene with Hines and Baryshnikov was amazing and the highlight of the movie. I wonder if his cancer was very advanced at the time it was diagnosed.
What a great entertainer and his eyes you don't forget.
I loved Gregory Hines as an actor and dancer. And, I loved Luther Vandross!! My husband and I saw Luther live here in Atlanta, Ga. probably in the mid to late ‘ 80’s. They both passed away too young( in my humble opinion.) RIP to Gregory Hines, and Luther Vandross!🙏🏼🥰💝
Thank you again. As always your features are greatly appreciated!
Glad you like them!
He was my cousin's best man at his wedding, know buddy in family new they were friends. My cousin said I met him the late seventies play in Vegas, we never worked together but just hit it off like we new each other are whole life. He was the. Most genuine person I ever met.
He always seemed like a good guy.
I remember Gregory Hines from watching him on TV when I was younger when he was part of the trio "Hines, Hines, and Dad".
You're the best. Thanks for showing such memorable actors..🎇😊
Thank you so much 😀
Very versatile and talented guy. Thanks for the video! 🙏
He was so cool. Loved his show even though it was short lived. I remembered him in a Christmas movie, I can’t remember if it was preacher’s wife. He was a mean guy for most of the movie and the singing of choir singing softens his heart in the movie. He was so talented.
I always wondered what happened to him. Thanks for sharing
Wolfen. When I was like 10 I had a sleepover with my friend and in the morning he wanted to show me Wolfen. Idk why they even had that movie but this video just unlocked a memory. I just remember a hand flying in the air.
He was an excellent dancer and Human Being. He also was a wonderful person. I still miss him. RIP
RUSTY
I love tap dancing! I took lessons but was never near the caliber of Mr. Hines!! I can dream, though! 😂 Gregory had a full life & career. Cancer sux! It was fitting that the USPS honored him a stamp. RIP
He's someone I completely forgot about but always like him. He was good in Deal of the Century and Running Scared.
REST IN HEAVENLY PARADISE MR. HINES YOU ARE A ICON . GREAT ACTOR, DANCER AND SINGER . 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Mr steve, you are a amazing talent as well! Pleasant Sunday brother.
Thank you kindly!
What an incredible talent he was. He gave we many a glimpse at an earth angel flying by in such beauty and grace.
May you rest in peace, Mr. Hines. Thank you for lifting our hearts and our horizons. ❤️🙏
I LOVE him in Running Scared. One of my favorite movies!
He was my favourite actor
He was a great dancer 🕺 to young to die 😢
RIP TO A GREAT DANCER AND ACTOR.
Rest In Peace you are a Legend Mr Hines and will be missed dearly ❤❤❤❤
No sabia esto
El siempre me gusto, actor, comediante y bailarin
Que TRISTE❤
I remember him passing away. Didn't know he was sick. Big shock. Seemed like such a healthy athletic guy. As the man said, you don't know the day or the hour. How much time do you have? Or even what time it is
He and Billy Crystal were great together.
Great talent, lost art of tap dancing is missed.. just don’t make’em like they used to. BTW Love these quick trips down memory lane 👏🏻👏🏻👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
That is just too young. I saw that special with Sammy. it was superb, very memorable.
I loved him in History of the World
Has anyone got a papyrus?
His passing shocked me and this was the first time I heard he had liver cancer. I’m not 100% sure but I think I recall it was mentioned he had a heart attack on the way to the hospital? Regardless this one really shocked me, he was so young and seemingly fit and healthy. I enjoyed his work in movies and dance, RIP
I'll get scolded for saying it, but smoking increases the risk of liver cancer.
I remember him well
‘Severe burns in a house fire.’
Nice tap dance yourself on that one, Steve. Big lol.
Terrible horrible scourge of cancer..very cruel..indiscriminately cruel...wonderful beautiful life
That was no “house fire” with Richard Pryor. He was freebasing cocaine. That’s crack. Also a wonderful talent.
I like Gregory Hines in 1991 cult classic film Eve Of Destruction.
Incredible in "Once in the Life" as a blind drug enforcer.
I enjoyed Gregory Hines in the movies Running Scared with Billy Crystal and Off Limits with Willem Dafoe!
🙏
❤
😢😢😢😢😢
That’s really something to have danced with the talents of the Nicholas brothers and Cab Calloway and also the talents of this era. Did Richard Pryor get burned in a house fire or was that when his crack pipe exploded and burned him.
Richard Pryor suffered burns in a house fire? Free basing a house.
Ok then.
@@TheLifeandSadEnding I’m sure you remember he was free basing cocaine and caught his face, hair and clothes on fire.
I can see Hines in 48hours.
Never heard of him.
My work here is done.
First!
I recall the Michael McDonald video he was in with Billy Crystal. He looked just too skinny to the point of possibly being unhealthy. Turns out that hunch was right.
Richard Pryor suffered severe burns free basing. Fact.
Sammy looked so tiny in comparison to Gregory. .
Richard Pryors ❤️🔥 burns weren't from a house fire 🚒 it was from drugs.anyway that's what I read
You fell right into my comment trap. I am tricky
House fire lol
Oh you.
Richard Pryor lite himself on fire from freebasing coke not a house fire but sad either way
Shooda stook ta makin' Ketchup 🤔🤷🏼♂️. 🤓😎✌🏼
how can he be only 57 if born in 1946? huh my old school math must be bad !!!!????
A housefire? It’s better to say nothing at all than a misrepresent what happened?
Just being kind.
He was free basing
Why is dressed as a woman on the luther vandross duet album cover?
It was an 80's thing. In those days women often wore football shoulder pads under their dresses.
Rest now 😂.
Richard Pryor = House Fire??? Nahhhh!
RIP Bozo
He passed away years ago to cancer
