The lens is t/1.2, but not f/1.2, since f-stop and t-stop are not the same. f-stop refers to the width of the aperture, or the theoretical amount of light passing through the lens, and you derive it by dividing the focal length by the diameter of the opening. However, t-stop factors in the actual light transmittance, which can be affected by the number of elements or the quality of the glass, among other things. t-stop is entirely experimental and so is a better indicator for how much light is entering the sensor (you can derive it by dividing the f-stop by the square root of the percent light transmittance). Hope this helps!
For all sakes and arguments they are very similar and very comparable. One is simply more accurate . If u get a high quality f1.2 it will have very similar affects to a t1.2 in terms of light intake depth of field etc
@@slurp3194 well the point is they aren't the same. A t/1.2 lens could have an equivalent apperture in a wide range below f/1.2. Additionally every bit of extra precision counts when you're doing cinematography
@@slurp3194 also for a t/1.2 lens to have an f-stop of 1.2, it would have to transmit 100% of the light that enters it, which is quite literally impossible
@@Fancysand in practicality they look very similar. I havnt seen any drastic differences. Although i would have to test them side by side.
@@Fancysand yes its important is filmmaking to have an accurate look thats why they exist. But plenty of great filmmakers are using photography lenses and are getting great results 🤷🏽♂️. A quality lens is important
T stops and F stops are DIFFERENT!!!!
SEE-ROO-E!
T stops and F stops are not the same dude. come on!
Very similar one is just more accurate they are very comparable. I have used a bunch of cine glass and photo lenses t and f are nearly identical of course didn’t do any in depth tests but to the eye very similar.
A t1.2 actually has a wider f stop so no, not the same. a lens at t1.2 stop will have more light transmitted to the sensor than a lens at f1.2
I mean depending on the price, it seems like it is a very good deal. Still too much for me😅
what adaptor is recommended for canon r5?
The CA is just pretty bad... i tried them and it's just not fixable in post... if you're okay with CA (and the corners aren't sharp... but not noticeable in video) it's a great lens pretty much on par with 7Artisan Cine lenses... but nowhere near a nice pair of Zeiss or Fuji... or even Sigma
Well, how much are they? But Zeiss and Fuji are pretty good…
It can be reduced if you stop down, but agreed. The look isn't for everyone.
hey man, love the content. i notice that youre pronouncing sirui "incorrectly". how i pronounce it is si-ru-i or si-du-i. because i believe that sirui is a japanese company, i think its best to pronounce it with the "du" instead of "su" 👍
He's pronouncing it fine, sirui is a Chinese company
Does it has the auto focus capabilities?
Nope
It does not
I thought it is pronounced like see-rooo-eee. 😁
It is, he's just probably a monolingual
I used to pronounce it that way, until I heard how others said it
@@AnthonyGugliotta Please pronounce it the way you used to 😭
