Non-native speaker here, who spent several years in London, some time ago; in the East End, to be precise. Perhaps you would appreciate how hard I find it to make other people understand that this and what the lads at the pub spoke is hardly the same language.

Mogg and Bercow are both very cultured and intelligent persons, I’m pretty sure they have interests in common and their friendship was not affected by their job. After all it’s no different than being friends with someone who works in your same industry yet for a rival company, there’s nothing wrong with that.

He shouldn't have any tie on at all. He should respect all the traditions of his office and wear the proper attire, including waistcoat, bands, and wig. But his ditching of the traditional uniform only mirrors his ditching of the proper impartiality of the chair.

As a Canadian, who occasionally watches Canadian parliament sessions, it's very bizarre seeing the speaker of the house get so involved in the drama. Bercow seems to take delight in hearing himself talk and lecturing others.
In Canadian parliament, you hardly even notice the speaker. Geoff Regan probably talked less than half as much as Bercow did.

Leadsom was a horrible LOTH who was biased against the Speaker from the beginning. She was practically guaranteed the job of Prime Minister in 2016 but her asinine comment about her being a mother and Teresa May not being one totally derailed her chance

After dabbing into these John Bercow video's i kinda start to understand the plot a bit. Andrea Leadsom has basically accused the speaker of the house of being arbitrary and discourteous, Imposing his own rules as he sees fit. While this may be the case that the speaker of the house can to some extend arbitrarily formulate judgement as long as it is conform with the set traditions. It does not mean he diverges from the set standards, he formulates them based on his judgement and expertise. In broader context it comes down to a clash between the executive branch and the speaker who speaks for the legislature. John Bercow would not give in to the whims of the leader of the house because that would damage the independence of each branch. I say kudos to him, he did a great service for his country!

It's interesting that, whenever he is supposedly responding to Andrea Leadsom, Bercow always looks at the Labour benches as if he is playing to them. Not exactly impartial.

Bercow is the most honorable and evenhanded speaker of the House of Commons ever, not to mention the most tastefully entertaining. He definitely deserves to be knighted for his decades of tireless service. The same could not be said for many of the flying flamingos, and the otherwise snowflakes with insidious intents, in that House.

I've seen lots and lots of videos about Bercow, and this one shows him in unspeakably bad light, hence the comment section seems to grow real hatred towards him. It almost seemed like he got used to that chair a bit too much and considers it to be a throne. Perhaps the position of the Speaker should also be limited in two periods?

Nah, brexit has become sort of a religion in this country much akin to how Isis pursued its own destructive goals with the same zeal and hatred. I honestly don't mind brexit, but hardcore brexiteers that would character assassinate anyone (or flat out lynch) associated with remain is shocking and shameful.
To make it more relevant, people just hate Bercow because he actually does his job, i.e things done right and through the proper channels which translates as an obstacle to the brutish mind of the the hardcore brexiteer. Whole of Brexit ain't about democracy or the will of the people it's literally a bunch of bulls on yokes dragging this country off a cliff. Fine by me, a country can survive far worse and prosper, but not with the kind of morons that drove us into it, goddamn inferiority complexes, I'd trade a dozen of them for a medieval English gong farmer.
