    Only 10 DC9-21 built for SAS. This is the only survivor. Called hotrod. Fuselage from DC9-15 , engines and wing from DC9-30 so overpowered💥💥

    3:14 you can see me in the gray shirt between the two golf carts! This was an amazing time coming out here and seeing the jet take off. Great video! 👍

    Hot Rod DC-9-20! Only 10 were built and this is the only example still flying. It was designed by Douglas to be used for shorter runways. With the modified rear exit and the short runway performance, this jet is ideal for Skydive Perris!!

      I was confused when I saw it because it looked to me like a -10 but then I saw it had slats (which the -10 doesn't have) but didn't look long enough to be a -30. I didn't know they made a -20. Interesting.

      @@notafanboy250 The HOT ROD DC-9-21 was made for SAS and was special because of it had amazing short runway capability. At one time in the US one was flown by Allegiant, it's very first aircraft before it became an ultra low cost airline. Another two were also flown in the US by ValuJet.

      Probably barely legal with a million hours. In the other video the left thrust reverser deploys before touchdown. Yikes!

    You have to come up with the idea of making or offering a parachute jump from a DC 9 - that's crazy!

    I have a question, now as we know when we go up the temperature decreases, how skydivers doesn’t wear a jacket? Or this wasn’t the height that temperature drops?

    • @rvncerr
      @rvncerr  29 днів тому

      It is not a problem in summer (feels like A/C, refreshing). It can be cold in winter and I use thermal underwear in that case.
      My personal record was -60C at the altitude, also few times it was -45C, but normally no more than -30C (I was born in Siberia, not a big deal for me).

    Not sure how skydiving alone can cover the cost per hour to fly and maintain aircraft.
