Infos about the song:
"God Save the King", alternatively "God Save the Queen" (dependent on the sex of the reigning monarch), is the national or royal anthem in most Commonwealth realms, their territories, and the British Crown Dependencies. The author of the tune is unknown, and it may originate in plainchant, but an attribution to the composer John Bull is sometimes made.
"God Save the King" is the de facto national anthem of the United Kingdom, and one of two national anthems used by New Zealand since 1977, as well as for several of the UK's territories that have their own additional local anthem. It is also the royal anthem - played specifically in the presence of the monarch - of the aforementioned countries, as well as Australia (since 1984), Canada (since 1980), Belize (since 1981), Antigua and Barbuda (since 1981), The Bahamas (since 1973), and most other realms of the Empire.

Long live the king and long live the queen
Welcome King Charles III….
@GodsavetheCzasrina!! Olga
A friend of mine refers to royalty as parasites. God save the parasites. He said that the only difference between him and king Charles is that Charles came out of his mother's womb and he came out of his.
Elon Musk, a self made $$$B aire, deserves the English crown.
Hi bro, Nice video and editing skills, I am also making content on national anthems and I know how much effort it takes, Keep it up😉
First time in 70 years - 16 years before that and 26 before that, This has been sung as the anthem of the United Kingdom.
And it won't be replaced for many many years, as William comes next, and George after him
As French speaker.
God save the King is the Original Anthem of UK.
Queen Elizabeth death was so hearbreaking and moving.
She had Reign for 70 long years
What a milestone
Now is the Era of King Charles the 3rd
Imagine when it was last sang the British Empire was still alive.
@@Rey-lg8sx Not that remarkable considering the British Empire only ended in 1997
@@scholaroftheworldalternatehist it officially ceased to exist in 1949
The version at the queen’s funeral was probably one of the best versions I’ve heard
yea i agree
The arrangement sung at Charles and Diana’s wedding tops it for me! So regal and powerful, hope it’s used for the coronation too
@@jzcpan That version "pulls out all the stops" with larger forces that normal required to perform it.
The late Queen is reported not to have liked it: I think she thought it was too showy and vainglorious. The circumstances of its first performance (the wedding and what happened later with the marriage) might have had an influence. I know she looked particularly grave when it was being performed. It is very rarely performed on royal occasions.
The Queen's favoirite was Benjamin Britten's version which has a first verse in a low key which is pianissimo throughout. After an interlude, the second verse is loud and in a higher key. No brass fanfares ot descants.
I don't know what she thought of the Gordon Jacob version used at the funeral which she will have first heard at the end of the Coronation service. Did it subsequently bring back memories of that deeply traumatic day (she was very nervous and didn't enjoy it)?
The version used at Prom 70 in the Royal Albert Hall on 8 September was Henry Wood's version, I believe.
When it goes “Long may he reign” I always start cry 😅
This is the first version I listen that isn't recorded in the 1940s
Long live the King
im listening to this cause my cousin country Scotland is part of the British
Poor Charles. He waited this moment for so long but now that he is the king he is filled with stress and uncertainty with the heavy weight of the crown.
He waited for 70 years and finally gained the crown and now uncertainty to bring the UK out of this time.
Let's also remember that, yes, they are member of the Royal Family, but they remain people. He just lost his mother. A mother that he has known for 74 years, and that always was at his side. The level of stress in those days must have been horrible, between all the duties and ceremonies he has now as a king, and the simple request of just being alone, crying his mother.
70 years but a short reign since he is in is abt to reach his mid 70's
@@Muichiro_Tokito2542 probably another 20 years or so. Look at the genes he also inherited.
Rubbish. Charles is the same age as me. He’s got years ahead of him.
Thank you for 70 years of service. Love and respect from Ireland
Youre irish?

Appreciation from scotland :)
As your fellow Irishmen said - "Lizzy in a box!"
@@scholaroftheworldalternatehist As we said, where did all your potatos go
You prove here, contrary to your countrymen below you, what it means to be a true countryman. Of course, you can say what you like about the United Kingdom, and I don't think you would find any nice words to describe it, which is fair in the light of the shared history. However, the greatness you show here is great and commendable. Love to Ireland from Switzerland
The end of the 2nd Elizabethan Era, the dawn of the new Carolean Era
God Save the King!
Carolean Era I like the name of that
And now, the 3rd Charlesan Era is here.
Our glorious Third Carolean era under His majesty King Charles III.
Long may he reign!

RIP to the last memories of the British Empire. A glorious funeral for an amazing Monarch.
No other empire in history has dismantled itself and had its former colonies voluntarily retaine very close tie and friendship. The empire became the commonwealth of nations with the British sovereign as it head. 56 independent states, with some asking to join who were never part of the empire. Now, that's something the British can be rightly proud of. A family of nations with a common ancestry.
“And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;”
Genesis 35:11 KJV
@@princerupert6161 The Commonwealth only exists because of the Empire. Can Britain and its people feel proud of it's imperial history that enslaved and massacred millions?
I feel now, with the death of Queen Elizabeth II, it is now the true death of the British Empire .
//amazing Monarch//
So amazing that they killed at least 60 million Indians during the period 1858-1947 through artificially induced famines.
Im not British but i sing that song every morning before going to work and also before going to bed.
God save The King and all Royal family.
Greetings from Croatia 🇭🇷❤🇬🇧😇
Only idiots like you do that
@@j.schedlbauer2645 I see you lost your culture somewhere along the way.
I didn't insult anyone at all, I just expressed my opinion about the British national anthem and you call me an idiot.
If you don't like the national anthem or the royal family then why are you even listening and commenting on this post.
And I will still sing at the top of my voice:
GOD SAVE THE KING!!!
LONG LIVE THE KING!!!
LONG LIVE BRITANIA!!!!
I love Croatia
Me too 😂😂
When I will tell my grandchildren stories from my life I will always begin them with “When the Queen was still alive”.
That… really lets the historical weight of this event sink in.
May Her late Majesty Rest in Peace in the Kingdom of Heaven, God bless the Queen
And may His Majesty King Charles lll reign a long and happy life for, even though I'm American. I'm proud to say: God save the King!
thank you, reespect from Britain
@Ahmad Hijaz no
The monarchy is an invaluable part of our country. These are people that aren't a part of the corruption in the current government and the King is among the few people that can truly unite the country into a common cause.
The brass is absolutely glorious in this rendition.
This is the arrangement made by Gordon Jacob (who also wrote the opening brass fanfare) for the Queen's coronation in 1953. On that occasion, there was a full symphony orchestra accompanying the singing as well as the trumpeters and organ.
It has been a month already… I will never get used to this it just feels different. 🇬🇧
RIP HM Queen Elizabeth II ,Thank you very much ma'am for your devoted and unwavering service of 70 years to the UK,Canada,Australia,New zealand , other realms , territories and the crown dependencies and of course the wider family of the commonwealth of nations .Your glorious memories will always be remembered with undiluted pleasure ,as we usher into our new and glorious Carolean era under His majesty King Charles III .
God save the King,
Long may he reign!
@Ahmad Hijaz How are they a bot?
Everyone in my family only knew the Queen on the British throne. I never thought it possible that the Queen would die. For us she was everlasting and always will be. The Queen will never be forgotten in my family and I think it will be the same for many around the world. May Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II rest in peace and rise in glory. May the angels eternally praise you, most worthy Queen, as the most gracious monarch this world has ever known. God save the King
Even though I am not British, this gave me goosebumps
As an American with English blood I love this anthem 💙🇬🇧

Good wishes to the great country and lovely people....!!
I learned by heart this country’s anthem ! ❤
2022 version, first modern version I’ve heard of God save the King!!
I actually visited Buckingham palace on June 26, 2022 I think the queen was away at the time because she wasn't feeling well. Now despite me being an American the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II is intriguing to me because when you think about it Queen Elizabeth's funeral was not just a funeral service to her but it was also a funeral service to the British Empire as she was the last remaining monarch to reign over the empire.
The Queen hadn't actually lived at Buckingham Palace for some time
He looks so sad :(. And a formal anthem wasn't uploaded until her funeral concluded 😢
I mean, he did lose his mother
God save the Queen, God save the Queen, no words about the People or Country...in this anthem..
God Save The King
🇨🇳❤️🇬🇧
Rest In Peace to HM Queen Elizabeth II, we miss you greatly already. God Save The King.
Still can't get over the brass opening
God Save the King!

PERFECT 🇬🇧👑🕊️
My paternal grandfather had this,(Queen at the time)Scotland the Brave, the U.S. Anthem and the USAF Anthem played his funeral. Private homes can do that.
He wanted to honor the country of his birth, adopted country and the military branch he served faithfully
Rest in Peace Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022)
God Save the Queen!!
Still living in the 90s?
God save our gracious King!
Long live our noble King!
God save the King!

Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over us,
God save the King.
Thy choicest gifts in store
On him be pleased to pour,
Long may he reign.
May he defend our laws,
And ever give us cause,
To sing with heart and voice,
God save the King.
Very mind-blowing, gorgeous and is already soaring to new heights by spreading its wings. The rendition of the British National Anthem is quite marvelous and mesmerizing. All glories to Queen Camilla and King Charles!
This news will be the most widely circulated news of this century.
i wonder if this how how people felt when Victoria passed away. At that time she was the longest reinging monarch in british history
God Save Charles III, of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland and his other realms and territories King, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith!!!
There is no instrument on earth as majestic as the Pipe Organ!👍
Funfact- This will be the national anthem of UK until the next century
The new anthem it's not bad but the old one It's the best
R.i.p Queen Elizabeth
💐👑💖🤍
And love the UK from Romania
🇷🇴🤝🇬🇧
When Victoria died in 1901, people had doubts about Edward VII. By the time he died in 1910, many Britons lamented the end of the Edwardian Era. I think Charles will do better than most people expect.
victorian era is such a beautiful epoch the culture the aesthetic the height of the empire, even used in japanese anime/animations, Queen Victoria will always be the best female ruler of britain.
@@alexisturnning That would be the War Queen, Elizabeth I - she's regarded as the best Queen of all time. Loved by her people. Feared by her enemies (the Spanish who tried to overthrow her and failed). Britain was like America is today under her rule. She had a nasty side to her (didn't like catholics) if people tried her. She was fearless.
@Rafael ^ told you.
God save the King and Union 🇬🇧
can I use this as the national anthem of my school because myfriend made a constitutional monarchy in it
BTW the second to last line is actually wrong. It has changed from "To sing with heart and voice" to "with heart and voice to sing" when its a male monarch.
Both versions are considered official. This was the version sung at Westminster Abbey, during the funeral.
You are incorrect in saying that the second last line as sung here is wrong.
The words presented here are the same as at the coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1937.
To change them unnecessarily as you suggest would upset the rhyming pattern of that second verse, making it inconsistent with the first verse (where we have victorious/glorious/over us).
In verse 2, laws/cause/voice in lines 4-6 would become laws/cause/sing. Lines 6 and 7, sing/King would rhyme but they are not meant to, if you look at verse 1 (over us/king).
We have other evidence for the period 1901-1952 in the 1933 edition (hymn 560) of the "English Hymnal" (George V's reign) and the 1916 edition (also George V) of "Hymns Ancient and Modern" (hymn 707), the two principal hymn collections of the Church of England in use at that period, which confirm that the line should end with the word "voice" as it does here and not the word "sing" as you contend.
In addition, the National Song Book published in 1906 (Edward VII) and endorsed by the Board of Education will have been the medium through which many children will have learnt the anthem either at home or school. Again, the words are exactly as sung in this video with the words "To sing with heart and voice".
If you have any evidence to back up your contention, please post it.
God Save the Queen! Grateful for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s legacy of Love and Respect ❤
Rest in peace to the queen and salutes from Myanmar! (One of the 6 countries to not be invited due to their political reasons (which is happening in Myanmar) or something else.)
GOD SAVE OUR GRACIOUS KING LONG LIVE OUR NOBLE KING GOD SAVE THE KING
Hello!. I have listened many anthems and in my opinion ,the UK anthem is the best in the world.
Im in the US at the moment. Had to put this on to cure my home sickness
LONG LIVE THE KING! LONG LIVE THE SPIRIT OF QUEEN ELIZABETH II
It’s very strange hearing this anthem return after a hundred years.
Best one
🌷 Today October eighth (8) marks the anniversary of the late queens passing...it is often said time waits for no one . October is my month .💐
An anniversary happens every YEAR.
I was just wondering if they would change that
If I’m not mistaken, this coat of arms was Queen Elizabeth’s!
This would have to change as well, along with the national anthem, the currency in the country, the post stamps, the monogram from ER to CR… etc etc
Each monarch has its own coat of arms I believe. A specific combination of symbols that isn’t the same with its predecessor!
That's true. Even the Postal boxes display the Monarch's cypher. The whole process will take years, perhaps decades, to complete.
@@alanhigh8125 I don’t want to be like… rude or impolite but King Charles III is already 75 years old. Until all the postal boxes are changed around the UK, it’s possible William to be King…
Things like the currency and post stamps can be changed in 2-3 months but postal boxes…
@@alanhigh8125 Postboxes don't change! There are many postboxes in the UK with 'GR' and even some 'VR'. Any new ones will obviously be 'CR', but there really won't be many new ones since physical mail is in decline.
Very close to the first anniversary of the late Queen's passing. RIP Queen Elizabeth II
This anthem Is amazing God save the King.
Long live the king
Who is the man standing next to the king with the glasses on at the end of the video?
Funny how the “new” UK national anthem is not really new. It’s the same anthem only they change one or two words depending on what gender the monarch is. 🤪
RIP to our late most excellent and noble Queen Elizabeth ll 🕊🇿🇦🇬🇧
God save the King🤴
Long may he reign
1:34 Did the Queen Consort sing "Long may YOU reign" instead of "Long may HE reign"? I'm not a great lip reader, but it sure looked like it to me!
The longer HE reigns, the longer that slutty hoe gets to ride the Gravy Train. You are probably right.
Why wouldn't she sing that to her husband?
О Боже, храни короля!
I'm algerian and i love the British anthem.. Rip QE2 we'll miss your sense of humor & cuteness your majesty!
Long live the King.
Rest In Peace Our Late Queen Elizabeth II 👸
Fiji had this national anthem because we were ruled by Britain BY HER LATE MAJESTY THE QUEEN AS GOD SAVE THE QUEEN
It's hard to believe that Her Majesty is no longer with us I want to sing Queen not King bless you M'am
Any one still say queen instead of king
my life feels so empty without the queen.
Lord grant that Marshal Wade
May by Thy mighty aid
Victory bring.
May he sedition hush
And like a torrent rush
Rebellious Scots to crush!
God save the King!
That verse was only used around 1745
God save the Queen of the People's Heart!
in 2022
There is something strange and interesting at the same time
Has anyone but me noticed that Queen Elizabeth II died at the same age that she became Queen of Britain in 1952, if we start counting the years from the year Princess Diana was murdered in 1997 to 2022..
It's really interesting and weird
❤️❤️❤️❤️
God save the king!
